    Story
"Feisty and sweet romance about new opportunities"

This is definitely a story based on "when a door closes, somewhere else a window opens." Noel is a feisty, kind, sarcastic woman who has been divorced for a while but continues to be trapped in a relationship with her ex. Jumping on an opportunity to get away from him, she goes on a business trip and encounters the lovely and gorgeous Leon. This is the beginning of their relationship.

The plot is lacking in substance but the ending suggests that the story is meant to be continued in another book. The characters are believable with insecurities created by life experience. The book is also sexy as the two recapture their sexuality and rediscover their sensual side. I am curious to see what happens next.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

    "Sweet Holiday Romance"

I really liked this short but sweet telling of how cynical smart-ass, Noel, finds love, hope and happiness after a lifetime of less-than-stellar experiences. I liked the h and H, in spite of her borderline OTT grumpiness and his knee-jerk reactions. I LOVED Tony, and I hope he has a story out there somewhere because he is awesome.

Sara Gordon did an excellent job with the voices and inflection and was engaging. She gave a great performance. I absolutely recommend this one.

Jennifer Theriot did a great job of packing a big story in a short audiobook. I particularly enjoy romances that find room for humor and this one didn't disappoint. My only complaint, and it's a common one for me, is how quickly Noel and Leon fall for each other. But other than that, there was that good torture before the HEA.
Sara Gordon's performance was spot on for Noel. She has a real voice. I haven't heard her before and hope she goes on to narrate more in my genres.

    Two Thumbs Up!

    "Good Holiday Romance"

This is a short story with a pretty good story line. The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life.

Noel is a pretty angry woman that uses very "colorful" language to express her frustration. She is still living with her ex-husband. Although he cheated on her, he convinced her into taking care of him after he was diagnosed with cancer.

Leon comes along when she flies to help her friend Tony. Sparks fly and their romance happens quickly. There are some ups and downs . This book is for a mature audience with descriptive details and language.

    "Funny Story"

I got this book via audiobook boom. This was a funny story in that Noel divorced her husband then moved back in with him when he was discovered to have cancer. The divorce was because he cheated on her. Then he does it again and does not tell her that he is in remission. the story was twisted and several times things were said that just did not seem to be finished. I kept waiting for something else to happen and it didn't. The narrator was ok. The story needs polishing.

    "Noel Review..."

Decent storyline, simple prose. Kind of an annoying, angry main character. Good narration.

    Story
"ME AND YOU, BACKWARDS AND FORWARD"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I enjoyed this emotional story of two people in a second chance romance. Noel Calabrese was married to Dave for thirteen years but caught him cheating and divorced him. Then he finds out he has testicular cancer and who does he call to help him through it, yes, Noel. Dave is a user and player and some things in life never change. Noel is called to Silicon Valley by Tony, former Nascar driver, her friend, and client for a new project that will offer services for children with spinal injuries and soldiers who have been injured and suffer PTSD. Meeting Leon Hallas in the bar and having dinner and then dancing is the most carefree that Noel has been in years. What a shock to learn he is part of the fitness project with Tony. From passion to pain happens on a dime between Noel and Leon. How will these two people who have both suffered at the hands of former spouses be able to let go and trust again? This is a steamy erotic story, with detailed sex scenes. The lesson is to never assume, and always be open, honest and fair.

Disclosure: I received an audiobook of this story in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions, and rating are my own.

What does Sara Gordon bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think Sara narrated the story where you could feel the passion and the emotions of the characters and the storyline.

    Story
    "Unexpected love"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes, I really like Noel, only not her outrageous reactions. She freaks and curses a lot when she falls, gets super angry when her new guy leaves without giving her a chance to explain. I'd rework some of those scenes and maybe make Noel a little less bitter. Hard to imagine someone falling in love with a very bitter lady.

Would you recommend Unwrapping Noel to your friends? Why or why not?

Not really. It just doesn't have that something special that would make it a favorite. It's like a good rough draft.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When Noel shows up for her first meeting in California and the guy she met the night before is in her meeting.

Was Unwrapping Noel worth the listening time?

Yes, Sara Gordon did a good job and made it easy to listen too.

    Any additional comments?

I liked the book, just some reactions the main character Noel has are over the top. Wish her edges weren't so rough.I received this audio book for free from the author or narrator in exchange of an honest review.

    "Heart warming"

This was a decent story with interesting characters. I did enjoy that the H/h were actual adults instead of school kids. The plot was feasible although the romance was pretty fast. This is what I would expect, though, from this 3 hour story.
The narrator did a decent job.

    "I wanted to love it."

I loved the concept and I wanted so much to love the story, but the character's sarcasm and low self esteem was hard to take. I understood the reason for it but I think it was over emphasized and took away from what could of been a great short story.
