Summary

It's like being there... only you can fast-forward and rewind.

"I call it time-surfing," Abby said. "It's like being there, except no one can see or hear us."

"Whatever you call it," John said, "that was crazy - what we just did. Beyond realistic. I mean, I was in that guy's head and knew everything he was thinking."

Abby's weird computer program is working again. And it comes in handy when she and her friends agree to help the Old Dears with their family tree.

Except Abby and John learn more about one of the ladies' ancestors than they ever wanted to know. Convicted in 1871 of murder and arson, Reuben Buchanan is a blight on the family's reputation. But was he really guilty? Abby and John must get inside the mind of a murderer to find out.

And while they're rummaging around in the Old Dears' family history, they also find Nathan Buchanan, a heroic relative connected to the Lewis and Clark Expedition - and a legacy waiting to be reclaimed. But the most important discovery they make is that God's promise to bless a thousand generations is true.

Unclaimed legacy is such a yes

Loved listening to Michelle Babb, really brings this book to life.

This book is full of suspense, discovery, joy, sadness, romance and the delight of finding out the truth about the past. .

How much fun would it be able to go back on a computer program and watch the history of your family unfold? Also to find out the name you have used your whole life had changed because of something one of your ancestors

So recommend.

Better than the first book

I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first one. I don't know why I liked it more, I just did. I liked the characters that we were introduced to in this book. I liked that a person's reputation was redeemed and lies were brought to the light. There were a lot of good characters but there were also the ones that I didn't care for...but that is part of what makes this story great. Once again I enjoyed listening to the narrator. She has a pleasant voice that is easy to listen to for hours on end. I would love to listen to more books that she has read.

A mystery for all time

I enjoyed this book. I think it is the way the author cleverly weaves history in a modern day story that makes it so interesting. This is book two and although I think you could perhaps listen to it as a stand alone book I believe it has more meaning and relevance when you have read or listened to the first book. I liked the added mystery to this story which you didn't get with the first book and even though the murder and arson was easy to solve it added an element to the story that I liked. Also the twins were a fun addition to the people in the know, especially the tricks one of the sisters kept playing helped with a lighter side to the story. I can't wait to see what book three has in store.
While trying to help Michael, a little boy brought up by a single deaf mother, who has never been taught how to speak Abby, Merri and John get asked to house sit for the speech therapist, who is also John's cousin in exchange for her help. With there time traveling computer broken the girls fear they will never get to use the program Beautiful home again, that is until John brings them another computer to use, backed up from there old one with all there old programs. This starts another adventure in time, as the three of them watch and early more about the twin ladies that live next. Watching Charlotte in her world is over and they get a chance to clear a man accused or starting a fire that killed a women, the grandfather of there next door neighbours. Is it finally time to right a wrong and are the elderly sister ready to learn about here past? Only time will tell.
Michelle Babb is a really good choice as a narrator for this series because she put time and energy into her character's which bring them to life along with the story.

History Mystery Book 2

I really enjoyed Unclaimed Legacy by Deborah Heal. The history mystery aspect of the story was very enjoyable to me. I liked how the author brought the story to present day with the program Beautiful Homes. The imagery was well done. Michelle Babb was wonderful bringing the characters to life with her voice. I could hear exactly whom was speaking. This book is part of a series and a standalone listen. I received this review copy audiobook upon my request, and have voluntarily written this review. I will listen to more books by this author and narrator,
