Summary

Exciting start of a brand-new series by a contemporary romance fan favorite.

After a devastating heartbreak three years ago, genealogist and historical village owner Nora Bradford has decided that burying her nose in her work and her books is far safer than romance in the here and now.

Unlike Nora, former Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient John Lawson is a modern-day man, usually 100% focused on the present. But when he's diagnosed with an inherited condition, he's forced to dig into the secrets of his past and his adoption as an infant, enlisting Nora to help him uncover the identity of his birth mother.

The more time they spend together, the more this pair of opposites suspects they just might be a perfect match. However, John's already dating someone and Nora's not sure she's ready to trade her crushes on fictional heroes for the risks of a real relationship. Finding the answers they're seeking will test the limits of their identity, their faith, and their devotion to one another.

Wow what a story! It’s a wonderful tale of 3 sisters one Nora who’s heart was broken by her fiancé and thought she was going to be a spinster auntie. Until she meets John a gorgeous former Navy Seal hero in an emergency drill.
Turn out John needs Nora’s help locating his birth mom due to a health issue. Meanwhile Nora is the Facebook friend Duncan and spearhead for his fan group for his character on a British TV show.

So-So

Mediocre narration. If I decide to continue with the series I'll opt for reading the book.

Enjoyed

The dialogue was cute and snappy at times. The relationship was believable. It is a little sensual for a Christian book, so over 17 reader recommended

Not Becky Wades best but good....

Tho written with Wades wonderful sense of humour- it was somewhat overshadowed by the narrator’s tendency to make Nora, the main character- sound like a pre-schooler. Just too light and ditzy. And I got tired of hearing the name “John! John!” “All she could think about- John!” Otherwise her true to form great writing and humor shone thru!

Love this book!

I love this book so much I have read it and now listened to it. The plot line has many twists and turns and is definitely not formulaic. This hero, John, is one of my all time favorites. He is a hero in every sense of the word. The heroine, Nora, is adorable, smart, quirky and I would just love to have her as a BFF. There is comedy, drama, heartache, romance, tragedy, and sweet love in this book. I recommend all forms of this book highly!! .Also has some great spiritual insights without being preachy. I love it !!

Another Wonderful Becky Wade “Homerun”!

While I love all of Becky Wades books, at first I wasn’t sure of “True to You”. I thought the main person, Nora , was a real ditzy person. I’m so glad that I read on to find the depth of her character. It is normal for God to allow obstacles to happen in our lives. They make us seek him and make us stronger in doing so.
John Lawson enters the story, and the story lines draw you into the humor, romance, and family dynamics of three sisters and the individual Faith and their personalities..
You know how when a coincidence happens and you say “It’s a small world”? When God’s plan unfolds his big picture is truly a small world.

I sure hope this will be anew series!

Slow Storyline

I felt like the story moved extremely slow. It was hard for me to listen to. In fact, it took a month for me to get through entire audiobook. This is unusual for me, because I can usually finish an audiobook in less than a week.

Good story; Stilted performance

This story of Nora Bradford and John Lawson was delightful and just what you’d want from a lighthearted romance. It has interesting characters and the main two have depth. The story has some nice elements that are different than a lot of other chick lit stories. However, the narrator’s performance was very stilted and at times downright difficult to endure. It’s as if enunciation of every letter of every syllable was the most important factor. I prefer narrators that speak like humans do rather than feel as if I’m listening to elocution lessons. I’m afraid for that reason I’d hesitate to recommend the audio version.

Excellent All Around

This book was fabulously written and recorded. Full of heart, humor, and underlying faith. I look forward to reading the rest of the Bradford Sisters books as my interest in Britt and Willow's story was peaked in this first one! But, for now, I will let Nora and John have their moment. Their love story kept me up too late into the night, knowing that each chapter would reward me with a great moment!

Thoroughly enjoyed it

I was just recently introduced to Becky Wade's books and have been voraciously reading/listening to them. I've loved everything I've read so far.

This book just may be one of my favorites though. I felt a kinship with Nora in many ways. Some of the things Nora struggled with brought light to areas in my own life that need to be dealt with. It was a thought provoking book while still entertaining on many levels.

Thoroughly enjoyed it!
