Publisher's Summary

Exciting start of a brand-new series by a contemporary romance fan favorite.

After a devastating heartbreak three years ago, genealogist and historical village owner Nora Bradford has decided that burying her nose in her work and her books is far safer than romance in the here and now.

Unlike Nora, former Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient John Lawson is a modern-day man, usually 100% focused on the present. But when he's diagnosed with an inherited condition, he's forced to dig into the secrets of his past and his adoption as an infant, enlisting Nora to help him uncover the identity of his birth mother.

The more time they spend together, the more this pair of opposites suspects they just might be a perfect match. However, John's already dating someone and Nora's not sure she's ready to trade her crushes on fictional heroes for the risks of a real relationship. Finding the answers they're seeking will test the limits of their identity, their faith, and their devotion to one another.

    Story
"Sap over Substance From a Very Gifted Writer"
Is there anything you would change about this book?

There was simply just way too much romantic sap (and that coming from a complete romantic) and mush and drama. I felt like I was listening to the inner turmoil of a teenager, rather than a grown woman.

What about Stephanie Cozart’s performance did you like?

The narrator was FANTASTIC. Compelling and humorous in all the right places.

Was True to You worth the listening time?

I wish I could say it was. I loved how the book began, the characters, the idea of the historic village, and the overall message of the story. But as the hours went by, the romantic melodrama and sap and sensuality, started taking it over more and more. Instead of improving the story, this clouded what could have been meaningful with hormones and romantic drama that a teenager could have easily owned.

    Any additional comments?

The writer is VERY gifted and has a fantastic sense of humor. Maybe this story is exactly what someone else needs to hear...I wouldn't be surprised at all at that. Personally though, I really look for books with substance that strengthen my relationship with the Lord. As a single woman, I try to be very careful with what I allow myself to see and hear. Sadly, this one would have been a stumbling block with the sensual drama that seemed to only escalate. As much as I wanted to continue listening to it, I had to cut it off. Perhaps if I'd had the paperback, I would have just been able to skip over those parts, but that's a little hard with audio, especially when it seemed to consume more and more of the text.

    Story
    "Deserves 50 stars!"
Would you consider the audio edition of True to You to be better than the print version?

I have not read the book. The narrator was EXCELLENT, so I can't imagine the book being better.

What did you like best about this story?

The romance, the drama, the humor ..... EVERYTHING!!

Which character – as performed by Stephanie Cozart – was your favorite?

    Nora. I love her attitude.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh my, yes! This is one I will listen to again. I cannot recommend it highly enough. This is one of the best books I have listened to in years. Very much look forward to the next one.

    Story
    "Great book"

I loved this book. The narrator did a wonderful job. The characters were relatable and like-able. I love how Nora was portrayed as kind of mousy at the beginning and grew into a more confident person.
I would recommend this book to people that like cute fun clean God centered romance books.

    Story
    "Trials, Heartbreak and True Romance"

I have loved everything that Becky Wade has written - everything. But I was a bit hesitant with this one initially to be honest. I added it to my "currently reading" list but then actually put off starting it for several weeks as I finished up another series I had begun.

However once I started reading it I was pulled into the story and, the more I read and the better acquainted I became with the rather "quirky" Nora and her sisters Britt and Willow, the more I had to keep reading - almost non-stop. I liked John from the start but I soon grew to love everything about him.

But this story has a sad and very unexpected twist that took me completely by surprise. There are definitely trials and heartbreak in "True to You" and huge challenges that test the faith of our characters.

I loved this book and highly recommend it and look forward to the next release in The Bradford Sisters saga!

(The audiobook was also well narrated.)

    "Wonderful Story!"

This book was such a joy to listen to. I laughed out loud in some parts and cried in other parts. It had so much substance and I hated for it to end. I can't wait to read more by this author. She truly has a gift for writing!
