    "Terrible"

I think this must be for teenagers. I loved the Afterlife saga and this was recommended to me when I'd finished that series. I managed to listen for about three hours and had to return the book. The female narrator sounds like a 12 year old boy and has such an annoying voice. I couldn't bear up listen to her any longer. The story is so slow and boring and full of romantic cliches. The characters are stereotypical teens full of angst and exaggerated feelings. I've never disliked a book as much as this.

    Story
    "Touched versus twilight"

The first thing I have to say is that this was a captivating story at first. I’m got my interest and I wanted to see it through to the end no issue. The second thing is that soon as I started listening I immediately wanted to listen to Stephanie Meyers twilight again. This story while good and original, was just so totally lacking a strong heroin. Gemma is a week easily manipulated and just not someone you can really identify with. I wish we had more of her story. I know there is a prequel written about her that I’m going to read and maybe that will make me like this but the truth is Bella could kick Gemma’s ass. And I don’t like that Kind of weakness and obtuseness which she admitted she doesn’t really want to understand what is going on…in a heroin. The main reason that I got this audiobook is because I am in love with Matt Latnter from timeless and he is one of the narrators. So while the book was good to OK and though twilight has had a lot of negativity it seems like this particular book took all the things from twilight that wasn’t good and made them bigger. The heroine and sometimes voice of this book is so confused and out of touch that she completely alienate her friends and family. I don’t think even Bella did that except for when she was so upset over losing Edward in the second Book, and that didn’t last long thanks to Jacob.Which was more of a valid reason to me anyway. Maybe the sequel redeems this but I’m sorry this is just not the culture for a book about a girl who gives up her whole world for a guy. And I’m sure the sequel shows difference but the way she is so much in a fog & in dreams and never really knows what is going on and that the main hero in this wants to keep her in the dark to make her more compliant I guess it’s just so creepy and not at all desirable. And to be honest that was my problem with Edward Cullen. It was the third book of twilight that I did not like Edward: because he was so controlling and wanted to watch Bella is every move it was to protect her but still I didn’t like it. I love the fourth twilight book after she became a vampire and he finally had to let go and trust her since she was strong enough or whatever I’m not saying that that is good but I am saying that I don’t like controlling men and Evan is a controlling man. Even if he isn’t quite a man… Anyway I guess if you like everything about twilight you will like this. But I didn’t I have my problems with both stories but touch seemed even more one dimensional… And again maybe the sequels redeem it but as far as touched itself goes not impressed and I don’t know I don’t care about the heroin or the hero. I’m sorry hopefully better books Will be written soon. And I think the absolute biggest problem I had with touched, the opening chapter dealt with a rape talking about the guy pulling her panties down and also the overuse of the word F you CK. I don’t know about anybody else but my dream guy wouldn’t have to say the F word repeatedly and my favorite book to take me away from my life wouldn’t begin with the (almost and yet vivid)rape of an innocent woman or excuse me almost rape at least enough for they talk about pulling her panties down. I think I need to go take a shower after the opening scene just to get the yuck off of me. Maybe people looking for something to read after twilight will like this, but not me. At this moment I wish I hadn’t Friday. I will continue to try the sequel see again if it redeemed it self but I’m not sure I can. One last thing the word emotion is a way overused. There should be a specific emotion described but now it’s just repeatedly, “ overcome with emotion...” what freaking a motion are you referring to!?

    "Words, words, words!"

The storyline may have been interesting, but the unnecessary words, phrases, paragraphs , etc. , made this a tedious, annoying read. Tried, but couldn't finish it. A good editor might be able to shape this up to an interesting, fast paced book! The author has good ideas but is just too wordy.

    "Don't miss this treasure!"

A paranormal romance (without spoiling it except it deals with death) It is a 15 hour listen, even though it is long I didn't even notice it just moved so fast with suspense, deeply romantic and engrossing! Narrators bring this story to life. Although would have liked more narration from Matt Lanter. Would I watch it if it was a movie? Most Definitely! A++++++
