Part Romani, noblewoman Evangeline Caruthers is the last woman in England Ian Hamilton, the Viscount Warrick, could ever love - an immoral wanton responsible for his brother's and father's deaths.
Vangie thinks Ian's a foul-tempered blackguard, who after setting out to cause her downfall, finds himself forced to marry her-snared in the trap of his own making. When Vangie learns the marriage ceremony itself may have been a ruse, she flees to her gypsy relatives, declaring herself divorced from Ian under Romani law. He pursues her to the gypsy encampment, and when the handsome gypsy king offers to take Ian's place in Vangie's bed, jealousy stirs hot and dangerous.
Under a balmy starlit sky, Ian and Vangie breech the chasm separating them, yet peril lurks. Ian is the last in his family line, and his stepmother is determined to dispose of the newlyweds so her daughter can inherit his estate. Only by trusting each other can Ian and Vangie overcome scandal and murderous betrayal.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Viscount's Vow?
I liked the scenes at the beginning where the Viscount was watching Evangeline at the ball and how he managed to get himself caught in a compromising position.I loved reading how the pair fell in love despite all the problems that got thrown their way.I enjoyed all the suspenseful elements in the story as well.
Which character – as performed by Stevie Zimmerman – was your favourite?
I really like Evangeline's character. She was very sweet, kind and forgiving and she certainly deserved a HEA after all the hardships she endured.
This was a decent enough story. It had my attention enough to keep me listening\reading.
I liked the Vangie well enough, although I do wish she would have been a bit stronger female character. She was a bit too meek for my preference in a heroine. I liked Ian well enough, he was kind, handsome and strong. They did have some chemistry together and there are a couple nicely written sex scenes.
The story line and plot was decent. The evil stepmother was really vicious. The problem I had was there was very little dialogue at all! It was all story telling. And the misunderstanding that caused Vangie to leave him was a bit stupid after what the stepmother did to her. Why would a person even consider what the evil stepmother said, ever?? That stupid part and the hardly any dialogue bothered me. Not enough communication for me. Not a bad story, but it could have been much better.
As for the narration, Stevie Zimmerman is hit or miss with me. More recently its been a hit. Sometimes I love her narrations and sometimes not so much. She did a very good job with this one. The men sounded like men, the hero sounded handsome and strong. Everyone had their own distinct voice and she had a nice reading voice. I would listen to more of her books if she continues to get better like she has in this book.
Free read with my KU subscription and 1.99 for the audible so it was a good deal.

The Viscount's Vow ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ written by Collette Cameron
Evangeline Cauthers, although, a noble women has been given the reputation of a wanton women. It has been believed by Ian Hamilton, the Viscount Warwick that she was responsible for his brothers demise as a result of a duel.
Ian makes it his mission to further ruin Evangeline. However, the tables turn when he finds himself in a compromising situation with her and must subsequently marry her.
This books is full of twists and turns. Revenge and then love develop between this unwillingly married couple. Add to the fact Evangeline is from a Romani background this becomes a fully intriguing and delightful book.
Good show Ms Cameron.

When Ian believes a rumor about Vangie, he believes it and he is going to make her pay. Vangie thinks Ian is overbearing and a beast. Mix in a Wicked stepmother and a forced marriage and you get the makings of an interesting twisted story..... I always enjoy Collette Cameron's books.
Stevie Zimmerman did a great job reading the book. I hope to listen to her again,
Would you listen to The Viscount's Vow again? Why?
Yes I would, the narrator gave an excellent performance and also the storyline was different in that there was a mix of cultures, British and Romani. There was also the action in the story and a few surprises.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Oh gosh I don't think I can choose one, Ian, because he was strong and steadfast, Vangie, as she was kind and strong, even though she had a hard life with her uncle and aunt. Aunt Edith for her forthright remarks.
What does Stevie Zimmerman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Stevie Zimmerman really brings the characters to life and gives them another dimension to reading the book. The different voices she uses are so apt. This isn't the first audiobook I've read narrated by Stevie and each one has been excellent.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Probably when Ian stood with and spoke up for the Romanis against the magistrate.
Any additional comments?
This was a very good book to listen to, even though it is good length. It was easy to pick up on the story the next time I listened. I have found that any story by Collette Cameron is an entertaining read. I was given a copy and I have voluntarily and honestly reviewed it.
I have come to enjoy the quirky humor of Collette Cameron woven into the fabulous story involving chicanery, Regency splendor and of course romance.
A fast paced tale that made me happy to have the audio version so I could listen as I kept going about my work. I found I couldn't turn it off!
Vangie and Ian's story tears through the web of an evil stepmother's deceit, the Romani Gypsy influence from Vangie's family and their own insecurities of unsure love.
You're sure to love this audio book as much as I have. Certainly worthy of 5 stars!!
Enjoyable story with strong characters, I especially like a hero who learns to be a strong man.
I have to agree with the other 90 four and five star reviews. I absolutely loved this book. It was so funny when Vangie screwed up someone’s name: Lord Pickles instead of Lord Pickering, for example, and there was so many more. I love any story where someone messes up names. And I liked Ian’s plan to ruin her, all the while desiring her. And I liked the fact that there was so little angst. I liked Ian’s fury when he found out what his evil stepmother did to Vangie while he was chasing after his sister, Charlotte. There were so many things to like about this book. I especially like that it was a mystery, with robbers and attempts to kill Ian and Vangie, instead of just a silly angsty love story with nothing going on except misunderstandings for 400 pages.
I really liked the secondary characters: Jasper and Tanny, Ian’s servants that protected Vangie while Ian was gone. Aunt Adelaid, Uncle Gideon and Yvette, Vangie’s family in London. Ian’s Aunt Edith. Ailsa, Vangie’s say-whatever-comes-to-you-without-thinking, maid. And Puri Daj/Simone/Grandmother, Vangie’s gypsy grandmother. Yoska, the bandolier of the gypsy camp, and Besnik, the king of the gypsies. I absolutely hated Vangie’s Aunt Eugenia and Uncle Percival. OMG! The author made them the perfect couple to despise. But mostly I hated Lucinda. What a simply insane woman she was. The author did a great job with her. Lucinda and Sir Doyle and Ben got just what they deserved.
There was some sexual tension and nicely written sex scenes in this story, with the exception of their first time together, of course, and I’ve already gotten the next two book since I enjoyed this one so much. And there was no swearing to speak of.
As to the narrator: Spectacular! Stevie Zimmerman was never one of my favorites but she’s obviously been practicing her emotions and male voices because she did a wonderful job with this book. She laughed, really laughed, and whispered, and yelled, and anything else that the book called for. 2 people gave her a 1 and 2 star rating but didn’t review the story to say what was wrong with it. Those 2 people were truly insane with their ratings. Katherine Kellgren is my favorite narrator because she reads with soooo much emotion and Ms. Zimmerman was every bit as good while reading this wonderful book. Brava, Ms. Zimmerman. I’ll look for more of your books narrated in 2016.

If you are looking for a proper English story with a happily ever after any girl would envy, you will fall in love with The Viscount’s Vow. With authentic wit and quirky phrases for the time period. Names like Lady Higginbottom, you can’t help but laugh. Cork-brain, rumor mungers, cods-head, twitter-pop, are just a few of the quirky phrases. Forced into marriage, two become one and face murder attempts, conspiracies, descrimination and acceptance, as this couple learn what it is to love one another. A whole hearted, passionate, forever kind of love. A love that will take your breath away. A must have.
