Summary

The unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Sylvia Day’s The Stranger I married, a tale of ambition, love and lust. Read by the actress Imogen Church.

They are London’s most scandalous couple. Isabel, Lady Pelham, and Gerard Faulkner, Marquess of Grayson, are well matched in all things - lusty appetites, constant paramours, provocative reputations, and their absolute refusal to ruin a marriage of convenience by falling in love. It is a most agreeable sham - until a shocking event sends Gerard from her side. When, four years later, Gerard returns, the boyish rogue is now a powerful, irresistible man determined to seduce Isabel. He is not the man she married - but is he the one to finally steal her heart?

What a disaster!

What disappointed you about The Stranger I Married?

Far too pornographic for my liking, not at all obvious when I bought it, next time I'll listen to the sample!

Would you ever listen to anything by Sylvia Day again?

No

Would you be willing to try another one of Imogen Church’s performances?

Yes

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Stranger I Married?

Too much information on the bedroom antics and not enough storyline, we all knew where it was going, way before the final page!

Boring

Sorry ... it just didn't do it for me. There was too much sex and not enough story! Then there is a quick side story and a wicked mother who has no comeuppance and no explanation of why.

Fantastic!

If you liked pride and pleasure, and seven years to sin, you will love this book too. In fact I think it's my favourite of the three. A fantastic period romance x

enjoyed listening to it.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Stranger I Married to be better than the print version?

Not sure as haven't read it only listened to it.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It was at times predictable, so I would have liked a little more intrigue.

Which character – as performed by Imogen Church – was your favourite?

Gerrad.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really, though it was nice to see how the other halve lived all those years ago.

Any additional comments?

It has nothing on 50 shades but still worth a read or listen if you like Sylvia day stories.
