Summary
Pearl Street, Liverpool, Christmas 1942. Despite the drama and tragedy of the War, the street’s spirit and friendship in adversity binds them together. Since her husband was injured, Eileen has worried about the growing distance between them. Lena Newton longs for a baby but with her husband posted in the Navy, it's looking unlikely. Great book ruined by the ending.
This book is mostly excellent with interesting characters and very well narrated. Unfortunately I wish I'd stopped listening with 30 minutes to go. The ending completely ruined it.

Fantastic read!
Excellent read great story as all Maureen Lee books a Glimpse back in the past. Once started reading can’t put down!!

Excellent book
I've listened to to a few of Maureen Lee's books and I find them very interesting she certainly puts a lot of research into every book which I find fascinating and because of this I just don't want to stop listening.

First but not the last
This is the first Maureen Lee book I've listened to but it definitely won't be the last.
I love how the characters lives were interweaved so well.
