Summary

Abigail Foster is the practical daughter, and she fears she will end up a spinster. Facing financial ruin, Abigail and her father search for more affordable lodgings, until a strange solicitor arrives with an astounding offer: the use of a distant manor house that has been abandoned for 18 years.

The handsome local curate welcomes them but offers a stern warning: beware of rumours that Pembrooke Park contains a secret room filled with treasure.

Too Long

Female characters too weak, sub text too religious, taking into account the slow pace the story is too long.

A Great 'Godly' Romance

This story is good but it should be posted as historical Christian romance for that is what it is. It's fairly well told and a tad Jane Austen-esk.

Lovers of historical romance should like it. It's by no means a bodacious ripper but rather a less subtly hidden Christian Romance. The Bible stuff is a tad over the top, but there you have it.

Unfortunately the audiobooks is ruined in some spots by hearing the typing of keys on a computer, other mild background noise, a few character voicing errors and the like.

A basic audiobook.
A reasonable romance.
Definitely to bible bashy for my likings.

The story itself has great potential with hidden rooms, mysterious strangers and a secret past. Everybody becomes a treasure hunter.

Happy reading
