Summary
Amy Wilde is tired of the idiots her glamorous flatmate Jo keeps foisting upon her - she'd much rather be digging in the garden with her dog Badger at her side than trying to find the man of her dreams. That is, until she meets Leo Wolfsburg.
Handsome, polite and funny, Leo is everything Amy could want in a boyfriend. Best of all, the attraction seems mutual. But Leo's lifestyle is a world away from her own. Private planes, charity balls, exclusive members' clubs - Amy begins to realise that her simple existence is being turned upside down. Is that what she wants?
And just where is Leo's home country of Nirona, anyway? Is there something he isn't telling her?

Lovely easy listening
A really lovely holiday read. Narration really helped bring it alive. I was sorry when it ended.

repeat after me Lemster not leo-minster!!!
if you can stop the grating twinge every time you hear the word Leominster pronounced Leo-minster instead of Lemster this is a really enjoyable book
The story meanders quite predictably but nicely and you can invest in the characters.

A lovely light hearted read
My first book by Hester Browne and I was very pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the whole book, though predictable as these type of books are, I was hard pushed to stop listening until I had finished it.
The narrator was absolutely excellent, made this a very good audiobook that I will enjoy listening to again .

A good way to pass the time
If you’re looking for a book that’s really light and easy to have on in the background then this is perfect! There’s nothing too emotional or impactful about the story but it’s cute and written pretty well. The narrator was very good!

A nice easy listen. Romantic and down to earth voiced with a homely Yorkshire accent.

Loved it!
Loved it hope there is a follow up but it couldn't be as good as this one. Characters which are both relatable and wildly not.

Spineless characters don’t make for engaging story
After about 3h into this book I had my finger over the ‘return to audible’ button at least twice but I forced myself to finish it because ‘it’s got to get better than this’. And to be fair, it did... somewhat.
My biggest issues in this are the two main characters are highly unlikeable and neither appear to own a spine? Amy is a drip and Leo is... well, I’m not sure how he’s managed to maintain a high flying banking career. The highlights generally revolves around the two lesser characters; Jo and Rolf who provided some much needed comedy to the proceedings as well as Jo providing somewhat of a ‘you’re being an idiot open your goddamn mouth’ sounding board.
The frustration I felt multiple times while listening to Amy tell someone that something she disagreed with was fine, or that she let her dad insult her intelligence without speaking up for herself or she let the royal family of Narona walk all over her like a doormat for the second half of the book had me wanting to return it all over again... but I finished it! And... at best it was ok. I would like the last 10h if my life back as well as my credit though.
Apologies to the author, I don’t like writing negative reviews but I always try to be fair. I’d definitely give another of your books a chance :)

Really Good and Different!
I struggled to listen to this book the first 2 times but a year later I decided a third attempt and I am so pleased I did because a 2 chapters in I got hooked and couldn't wait to keep listening.
It was so interesting how you can fall in love with each other yet if 1 of you are part of the monarchy and 1 is not, they "train" that person to fit in with the royal family.
It was still light hearted and the narrator Rachael Louise Miller was absolutely brilliant.
I would recommend this book and if you like the film 'Pretty Woman' then you will like this book!

Easy Read
Lovely easy read, with some interesting characters, I always like to rate a story based on the emotions it draws as the story progresses. I can happily say it made me laugh and nearly shed a tear in places. The character of Leo, seemed undiscovered though and I think there were hidden parts of his personality hinted at but never fully explored. So I would of liked the author to of delved deeper with him. Amy however was adorable and loved her nature chord which struck with me as I have an equal love of Gardening. Thankyou for the story, really enjoyed it.

Pure escapism
Totally fictitious without being ridiculous. A book about becoming a princess for grown ups - what's not to love?
