Publisher's Summary

How can someone so smokin' hot be so bad in bed? I mean, Sean Cassidy is absolute rubbish. Rubbish. He is the epitome of walking, talking false advertising and I want a refund! Plus he's an arsehole. So...what is wrong with me that I can't stop thinking about him?

The Pixie

Lucy Fitzpatrick doesn't like rugby.

As the little sister of Ireland's most infamous rugby player, Lucy can't seem to escape the championship-sized shadow cast by her big brother, or her mother's frequent attempts to micromanage her future. Her rainbow hair is as free-spirited as her quest for inner peace, yet overbearing expectations keep bringing her down. And when she's down, her compulsive little problem lands her in seriously big trouble.

The Player

Sean Cassidy is a cold-hearted brute...or so he's been told. Frequently. By everyone.

His blonde locks, baby blues, and rock hard bod make ladies the world over drool with desire. As the rugby world's second most infamous player, he should be basking in his success. But Sean has never been content settling for second place, and his frequent confrontations with Lucy's big brother leave him cold. And when he's cold, his compulsive little problem lands him in the lap of Lucy Fitzpatrick.

The Plan

Sean has a problem only Lucy can solve. Lucy has a problem only Sean can fix. The solution seems obvious: you scratch my back, and I'll bail you out of jail. But when their business arrangement unexpectedly leaves Sean scorching hot and Lucy on the precipice of inner peace, can they convince the world - and Lucy's big brother in particular - that this is the real deal?

Either way, both the Player and the Pixie are about to teach each other some pretty monumental lessons about family, life, but most importantly, love.

The Pixie and the Player is a full-length, romantic comedy novel, can be enjoyed as a standalone, and is the second book in the Rugby Series.

I'd been putting off reading this book by authors I like because of the things people said. What a mistake! I loved it.

Enjoyable, light easy read. Personally though, I did not warm to Sean and Lucy as much as I did with Ronin and Annie in book 1, they did not appeal to me as people and I had no compassion for them throughout. The story was well written, I loved revisiting the previous characters, the chemistry between Sean and Lucy was great at times, but I just didn't feel them. It has not however put me off reading book 3, I'll be starting it soon, I'm hoping that Bryan and Eilish's story will have me back in the zone. The narrator's didn't really work for me.

    "Loved this book and audiobook"

How can you not love a story about a sexually inept posh male and a cleptomaniac rainbow haired girl. It's funny, angsty and us misfits are entitled to our happy ever afters too. If you aren't aware that flaws are humorous this isn't for you. Plus that male Irish accent.....drooling!

    "Terrible narrator"

Couldn't listen to this, the male narrator sounded like Loyd Grossman and way too old for the actual book character. Don't waste your credits it's a shocker

"4 The Player and the Pixie Stars"

I really enjoyed Sean and I didn’t think I would. Because in book 1 he isn’t a character you would want to read about but I loved that he was humanized in this book and that he wasn’t a total douche bag.

Lucy being that she is Ronan’s brother was interesting and her dynamic with her mother and with her brother made me see her in a different light.

I get why she does the things she does but I wanted her to get help.

I loved that Lucy was Sean’s teacher, and that he likes her just the way she is!! I lovvvvvved that part of the book so much.

Again another hit. I am really excited to read the next installment in this series.
The narration is awesome and how he changes the voices of each of them man just a little really helps keep them separate.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

    "Loved the narrators!"

Absolutely loved the narrators! George Allan and KC Sheridan were spot on on choices for Sean and Lucy. Those accents! *swoon*
I read book one in this series a couple of years ago and somehow LH Cosway and Penny Reid fell off my radar. I know, the horror! Right? When I saw that this series was available on the Romance Package, I was ecstatic that I would be able to reunite with this writing duo. The writing was just as I remembered. I laughed, I swooned, and I even cried.
I loved how it was the Hero in the story that was "inexperienced", for lack of a better word. I wasn't sure about Sean in the beginning. He was such a haughty prick that I didn't know how he would turn things around but he did. And it was the unexpected side of him that endeared him to me.
I'm eager to start The Cad and the Co-ed now. Bryan and Eilish, yikes! How will that turn out?

    "I loved the audio too..."

Another Romance Package download and I'm thinking that maybe this package will be a great opportunity to re-read some of my favourite stories.

The narrators do a fantastic job, but I'll be honest, I think the female narrator was the better of the two. Her voice is very easy to listen to and quite soothing. Her American accent wasn't fantastic (I'll laugh myself silly if I find out she's American) but her Irish accent was beautiful. I could easily listen to her narrations over and over and over again.

What to listen to next...that is the question?

    "So Worth The Read!!!"

The Player and the Pixie by LH Cosway & Penny Reid (Audio Edition)
Narrated by George Allan, KC Sheridan
    Series: Rugby Book 2

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I was hesitant to read this book as I really dislike cheaters/people who sleep with someone else's spouse etc.. so when I saw this book was about “Sleazy Sean” I didn't bother with it… flash forward some months to me remembering how much I enjoyed the first book by these authors, as well as the narrators lilting accent.. and forgetting why I hadn't read this book… I downloaded it from audible.

I am so glad I did! Lucy and Sean were very interesting characters. Both having issues in their lives that were difficult, yet they accepted each other and work together well. I loved that the hero needed to learn some stuff in the bedroom, and that he was willing to learn, not just an egotistical self centered player. (We don't get many of these in stories) Lucy was funny, sassy and unique. I just Loved her! Their chemistry together was awesome! I didn't want to put it down. Also for those out there who don’t like cheaters either.. This is safe for you to read.

Both narrators did a wonderful job and I am looking forward to the next book in this series!

    Any additional comments?

This writing duo can do no wrong! A charming, SEXY and sweet story! I loved how proper and pompous Sean was- his inner dialogue and his tweeting at the start of his chapters had me LOLing! And I adored Lucy! She was bubbly and so sweet! 5 "Bubs" stars!

    "I am loving this series!"

This was such a good book!
I love a good opposite attractions story, and this one was great. It was funny, and romantic, and the cute. Sean won my heart, even though at first I thought he was just a pompous a$$. And Lucy was great, I wished I could have been her friend in all the things she went through.
I wanted to tell her mom EXACTLY what I thought of her even if all it did was make me feel better.

I also listened to this as an Audio book. The narrators were spot on, exactly what I imagined them sounding like.
I absolutely recommend the audio book.

    Story
    "Sean is my Cassanova!!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely. The story is amazing, super original, sexy and fun, and it has its perfect amount of drama that made the story all much better, and the audiobook made it so real because the accents of the narrations were amazing, especially George Allan's, who made a flawless performance.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Player and the Pixie?

There are so many great moments in this book that I'll forever remember but if I tell them, they'd be spoilers. But I can say that I loved every moment Lucy and Sean opened their hearts. Those moments were when they were truly connected. <3

What does George Allan and KC Sheridan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I didn't read the book before listening to the audio, so my audiobook experience was my book experience too. I loved George Allan's narration. He was Sean through and through. His voice was Sean's voice. His accent was Sean's accent. The emotions he transmitted were Sean's emotions. George was flawless as the male narrator. On the other hand, KC Sheridan was an okay narrator. Most of the time I felt like her voice was so robotic, she had a singsong kinda voice. I only felt emotions in her performance when she was on dialogues, but Lucy's thoughts were a little hard for me to connect. Don't get me wrong, she did good, but in comparison with George's perfect performance, KC's was plane and didn't reach my expectations.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laugh out loud a lot while listening to this audiobook, but I think my heart ached more than I expected it to before I started this book. I laughed sooooo much with the The Hooker and The Hermit and The Cad and The Co-Ed, so I was expecting to do so in this book, but for me it had the perfect amount of funny moments and heart touching moments.

    Any additional comments?

I'm getting more and more obsessed with the books of these two authors together. I love the development of the characters, the originality of the stories and that despite this is "sports-romance", it doesn't feel the "usual kind of sports-romance.
