Summary

Penguin presents the unabridged downloadable audiobook edition of The One That Got Away by Melissa Pimentel, read by Suzanne Pirret and Max Bennett.

Ruby and Ethan were perfect for each other. Until the day they suddenly weren't. Ten years later Ruby's single, having spent the last decade focusing on her demanding career and hectic life in Manhattan. There's barely time for a trip to England for her little sister's wedding. And there's certainly not time to think about seeing Ethan there for the first time in years.

But as the family frantically prepare for the big day, Ruby can't help but wonder if she made the right choice all those years ago. Because there's nothing like a wedding for stirring up the past....

From New England to North England I

Good story and well read even though some of the Geordie accents were strange. Loved the setting as I know the area quite well and the author was pretty accurate with the descriptions. The story itself was interesting and enjoyable and I was pleased that it was told without the sexual innuendo that often goes with theses types of books . I enjoyed the story so much that I listened to it all in one without being distracted or bored. Good listen and well recommended.

Accents were atrocious

Overall, I enjoyed the story. However, at times the accents were so irritating because they were not at all accurate.

Ridiculous accents completely ruined the story

The story line was pretty boring and nondescript however the accents were appalling, how anyone could publish this after listening to it is beyond me. Skipping from one part of the UK to the next in one sentence and then adding a 'pet' on the end for good measure, so we know they are from the north east! If I hadn't wasted money on it it would have been laughable!
