Summary

The Miller's Dance is the ninth in Winston Graham's sweeping series of Cornwall, Poldark.

Cornwall, 1812. At Nampara, the Poldark family finds the New Year brings involvement in more than one unexpected venture. For Ross and Demelza, there is some surprising - and worrying - news. And Clowance, newly returned from her London triumphs, finds that her entanglement with Stephen Carrington brings not only happiness but heartache.

As the armies battle in Spain and the political situation at home becomes daily more obscure, the Poldark and Warleggan families find themselves thrust into a turbulent new era as complex and changing as the patterns of The Miller's Dance....

Fantastic series

The Poldark saga has been a favourite since childhood but this narrator constantly pronounces the characters names incorrectly which is very distracting.

Yet another Great BOOK by Winston Graham

The Story continue s as this series plunges on , nearly out of the regentcy era with another mining venture and ending with another feint at the now single George Warleggan

mispronunciation of Cornish place names and family names.

The pronunciation of Breage and Cotehele were so wrong and interfered with my enjoyment of the story. is it too much to expect that those recording these books take the trouble to check the pronunciation?

continued gorgeousness

The characters and reading continue with reliable style and this novel seamlessly continues the saga.

Was this still Winston Graham

I really feel Winston Graham must have been brow beaten to carry on writing these new generation Poldark books. They are nowhere near as good and the children are thoroughly unlikeable. I really struggled to even finish this one. Oliver Hemsbro is excellent but the story drags and isn't even that interesting.

another great Poldark book

A great story in the Poldark series. The narration really brought the characters to life.

The Miller's Dance

As always, I thoroughly enjoyed this Book. I have previously read all the Winston Graham's Poldark books and I am loving the audio books as much, if not more.

Not as good but still Poldark

the book drags on a bit and characters such as Ross loose a bit of sparkle, while having his son commit crime for a woman, seems beneath the character. Yet it is nice to carry on following the family in its path.

Back to form

I found the first eight books or so gripping. Then there was a slight lull. What could compare with the story of Ossie Whitworth? But with The Miller's Dance, the genius storyteller is back on form. Recommended.
