Summary

Tragedy struck early in Will's life. Willingly haunted by ghosts of the past and content with his own company, he's an ideal lighthouse keeper. Yet as automated beacons replace men, Will's job on the rugged Cornish coast finally goes. Although sad at the change, Will can now fulfil his dream - to sail solo around the British coast. It's a simple idea, but complications arise.

Firstly, there's Amy, who escaped her past to be an artist. When it catches up with her, her lonely plight arouses Will's sympathy, despite his desire to set sail. Then he stumbles upon a ruthless smuggling operation. Someone he knows is heavily involved, but has gone to great difficulty to mask his identity....

Brilliant as always!

Love everything Alan Titchmarsh has done and this is no exception. His voice brings the characters to life and is read by him with such warmth you know it’s from the heart. Thank you Alan..

Cornish memories

I really enjoyed listening to Alan narrating this story of Cornish life, having spent some time on holiday there it brought home the fictional area and the characters seemed to fit in very well. I look forward to hearing other stories from Mr Titchmarsh

Didn’t want it to end

Looked for another in the authors titles after listening to ‘Our Dad’ , easy , pleasant sometimes emotional listening too with the very slightest hint of sarcasm and comedy from time to time , off to find another one now , love it !

'Heartwarming Tale of Life and Love'

Thankyou Alan for this beautiful tale set against a backdrop of coastal life. This is the second time that I have listened to the audiobook and I know that it will not be the last. My husband and I have been brought up in and around all things nautical and therefore the setting of lighthouse and harbour was perfection. The narration brought the characters to life with flair and it was easy to visualise them as the story unfolded. It was a privilege to engage with Will and Amy and to share with them the journey to shared happiness. If only we could find out what happened next....
