Summary

Just couldn’t get into this book
I found it too confusing. I think it is very difficult as a Brit to distinguish the different characters when the Narration is by an Australian. I had to return without finishing.

Feel bereft it's ended
I got this as a buy one get one free deal and had average expectations... How wrong was I! Amazing, the ought provoking and beautifully woven story around characters you can identify with at certain points. A must read

My favourite so far
I discovered this author about 2 months ago and have read 4 of her books so far but I think this one is my favourite so far. I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and felt I knew them by the end of the book

Another chuckle story by Liane Moriarty
I have read and loved all of her books. This one took me quite a long time to work out who was related to whom, although this is the main part of the plot it was annoying having to return to check on the families. It is a really funny story with a great narrator. I am looking forward to her next book.

Story great but confusing
I love Lianne Morriarty and have read all her books but this one just didn’t work for me like the others. Too many characters, bouncing around in time… I just kept losing focus. The idea behind it was great but it got confusing . The reading of it was excellent as always. If you concentrated hard this would be a good book but just not for me.

Amusing and intricate story
Another successful novel by this author brought to life quite brilliantly by Caroline Lee whose depiction of the various three dimensional characters is faultless. The plot in all its intricacy enfolds gradually keeping the listener engaged throughout.

I absolutely loved it
This was brilliant. I don’t think I’ve read a Moriaty book yet that I hadn’t loved and this was no exception. Had me hooked, I love it when I can’t wait to lose myself in a book and I was using every excuse possible to play this!

Very good narrator
Good book, many characters, good story. And I think that Caroline Lee makes all this even better. I’ve realized that lately I was looking for audiobooks not by the name of the author, but by the name of the narrator. She is the best narrator I’ve listened to.

Gripping
I chose this because I had thoroughly enjoyed What Alice Forgot, and I found this delightful too. It is strange going about your own life, while half your attention is immersed in a cast of characters on the other side of the world!
I did not feel this was as focused as Alice - at times I wondered what Sophie was doing in the plot - but I trembled in fear for Grace, cheered on Margie (not sure of her spelling!), and appreciated Connie’s boldness and business acumen, a way from poverty to wealth from a tiny beginning with a few scones, which had also brought the sisters the blessings of further generations of children and young people in their lives.
Liane Moriarty writes from the inside of her characters. She makes them complete, rounded characters that you can identify with and sympathise with. Veronica was a treat and it was great to see her stop feeling aggrieved and finding her own path. Enigma was a pet, used to the centre of attention as the Munro baby and revelling in the fame of that. And I absolutely loved Rose - she makes it so easy to understand how the whole Munro baby mystery came about then, just when you think you know it all, delivers her final bombshell! I love that woman!
A long, satisfying listen.
