Shouldering burdens beyond her years, McKenna tries to be the parent Robert needs, instead of the older sister he resents. But an "untimely inheritance" challenges her resolve at every turn, while also offering a second chance to restore her trust - and perhaps even her heart.
U.S. Marshal Wyatt Caradon is dedicated to bringing fugitives to justice, yet years of living on the trail have taken their toll. When his path intersects with that of McKenna, he comes face-to-face with a past he never wanted to relive - and the one woman who can help him find the future he's been longing for.
As McKenna struggles to let go of her independence and Wyatt considers opening his heart again, they discover an inheritance beyond imagination. But it will come at a price.
I don't want to give the story away but it was not just love story but has some serious family drama I enjoyed the story

This book has romance, history, drama and mystery. It is our first book by Tamera Alexander but won't be our last. My husband and I normally listen to books while in the car. This one made it into the house ... we couldn't bear to stop listening! This is not just a book for the gals! We highly recommend the book, author and narrator.

I loved the characters and the storyline. It was very unexpected to learn a little about the Chinese culture in this book. The narrator did a fabulous job. Thank you everyone for a job well done!
What a beautiful story through and through. Gods redemptive love to us is woven in and around this story. Wyatt's love for Kenna, Kenna's love for Emma and her brother through such a mess he made in his life, yet she still loves him. Chinn Lee paying the bride price for his wife was beautifully woven in to this story as well. Thank you Tamera for this beautiful book!
Nice balance of tenderness, harshness, hope, and hardship. Narrator was skilled! Glad I listened. Recommended.
What made the experience of listening to The Inheritance the most enjoyable?
