Well worth buying

The only challenge is to try and keep a straight face when you are listening to this on the train. Excellent book - brilliant on audio - thought it was Ray Winstone narrating at first, excellently done and you will laugh out loud. It's impossible not to.

Superb

Laugh, I have never laughed so much out loud! This book is a real trip though the trails and tribulation of a gangster.. very lock, stock. Brilliant narration.

Excellent and funny read

Not quite as good as the Burglar diaries, but still a very good read, most enjoyable, easy going, but with a serious side to some of it. Plenty of action. It kept my attention really well.

A Brilliant Read

I strongly recommend The Hitman Diaries to anybody who likes comedy with a dark twist. This brilliant action packed book by Danny King kept me entertained from beginning to end and Dave John's narration of this book was simply fantastic.

Not for me I'm afraid

I just couldn't get into this at all, I have read some of Danny King's books and found them amusing, but this was just pants, Now, I don't mind a bit of swearing and I well expected it but every other word (if you're offended by the c-word, dont bother getting this audiobook) just took the story away, Ian was just a throughly unlikable character, I didn't even make it to the end. Sorry

An enjoyable piece of escapism

It does what it says on the tin - so don't be put off by comments about the language or content of the book. This is not the diary of a nun!!. That said this book is funny and a good 6 hours of simple entertainment

SO FUNNY!!!

This book was incredibly enjoyable to listen to. I found myself putting my headphones on whenever I could so I could hear what happens next to Ian. It's cleverly written, but you also feel a great deal of empathy for the various characters in the story. I like the narrator, Dave John, too. He sounds just like an East End gangster. Thoroughly recommended.

Enjoyable, flowing and gripping!

If you don't like swearing then don't get this - just a fair warning. As that doesn't bother me then I thought the story and narrator were both excellent. The book has a really good pace - it's never boring and keeps you gripped to the end. It's not at all like a diary as the title suggests. A love story that blokes will like with plenty of twists and turns - a highly recommended listen!

Predictable

Sadly I didn't find this book funny. It tries very hard but I found that I could predict exactly what would be said next.

Funny AF but brutal

I read this book as a teen and loved every page of it, it got me to read all the rest in the series (they're good too) . I've now in my mid twenties gone back to them and have a listen this time and they're just as funny now as they were then!
cracking narration too, I think he might actually be the hitman
