Publisher's Summary

After losing his best friend to another guy, the notoriously too-confident Max Emory suddenly feels lost. He may have devastatingly good looks, an abundance of charm, and a claim to one of the biggest hotel empires around, but he has no ambition anymore. So when his fed-up friends decide they've had enough of his moping, they sign him up to be the next bachelor on the reality series Love Island. And between his pride and his forged signature on an ironclad contract, Max just can't say no.

Now he's stranded in paradise with 24 women, one terrifying goat, and Becca - the breathtaking barista who already turned him down back home. The closer Max gets to Becca, the more determined he becomes to win her over. As she gets to know him better, things start heating up. But is Becca really after Max's heart - or is she after the cash prize she could claim once the cameras stop rolling?

"if only bachelor shows had max"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely, this book had me laughing the entire time. It was such a sweet story, one that as an easy listen that made you feel good.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Consequence of Revenge?

Two words...goat and gecko. The fact of the matter is, it was hilarious. And the way max interacted with the crew of the show...honestly there were so many memorable moments it's really hard to choose.

What does Amy McFadden and Nick Podehl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Nick Podehl is amazing. I don't think listening to this story would have been near as good with any other narrator. He has this way of bringing out the goofiness of all the characters that made it so easy to fall in love and laugh. Amy McFadden is another reason. She conveys emotion so well, she sucks you in and makes you feel it too.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Annie and Max`s final date on the show. I don't want to give anything away, but what he tells her will make you fall in love.

    Any additional comments?

I wish there were guys like Max on those bachelor shows, hilarious, honest, scared ;) I would actually watch them if they did. I love feel good stories that mAke you laugh and I've never cracked up out loud while listening to a book like I did with this one. It's a real light and feel good story that will have you laughing for days when you think of it. I'm sure people could nitpick it if they were so inclined but honestly, it would be grasping at straws to find something. Critics tend to be harsh, I've overlooked books with a bad reviews then later went back and read them and found them to be good. This story definitely can hold its own.

    "Another hilarious performance"

Every once in a while all the stars align and magic happens. That is what The Consequence series and Amy McFadden & Nick Podehl have going on.

Max is my favorite Consequence character. I love his verbal diarrhea and in this book we get to see his softer side as well. Amidst all the hilarity of a dating game show we see Max fall in love and it was amazing. While the story line may be predictable, no one could predict the antics of The Consequence characters. Every single minute is full oh highly entertaining comedy.

"An amazing story +amazing voice acting = sucess!"

This are words I'll probably never utter again. "I wished I had more housework". Listening to the audio version of this book was amazing, the voice acting was amazing, together with the story had me cracking up constantly, making house chores entertaining ( I exaggerated this last part but you get my drift)

    "Got Max"

Everyone needs a little Max in your life. He's funny, charming, sexy, crazy, and totally adorable.

This book took a little too long to get started and wasn't neatly as funny as book three Reid's story. But with that said it was still a good book.

    "Five+ wonderfully hilarious stars!!"

OMG! Rachel Van Dyken does it again! This book was so dang funny! I laughed out loud through at least half of it. I listened mainly in my car and got the strangest looks from other cars!
The narrators did such a great job bringing the characters to life - especially Nick, who captured all of Max's "crazy"! This is just the best series! I would give it 100 stars if possible! I've already recommended it to a bunch of friends. Love it, love it, love it!!!

"The third time was not the charm"

I started with the third book in this series and was delightfully entertained. I then listened to the first book and finally this one. Maybe I needed a break between each. I began to feel I had had too much Max toward the end of the first book and this book left me with an overwhelming desire to simply kill the guy. That seems to be the effect that character had on his family and friends as well. This book centered on Max and his efforts to navigate a dating game situation. It felt contrived, more hysterics than hilarity. The performance was excellent, though.
