Summary

A sweet and delicious treat from the multimillion-copy-selling Carole Matthews. Perfect for fans of Milly Johnson and Jill Mansell.

For Lucy Lombard, there's nothing that chocolate can't cure. From heartache to headaches, it's the one thing she knows that she can rely on - and she's not alone. Fellow chocolate addicts Autumn, Nadia and Chantal share her passion, and together they form a select group known as The Chocolate Lovers' Club. Whenever there's a crisis, they meet in their sanctuary, a café called Chocolate Heaven. And with a cheating boyfriend, a flirtatious boss, a gambling husband and a loveless marriage, there's always plenty to discuss....

pointless but brilliant

This was one of the most pointless books i've ever read. but I loved it: just think bridget jones meets sex in the city and add loads of chocolate to that and you've got this book. i'm now reading the chocolate lovers diet

August bookclub read

I haven't read anything by this author before. I loved the characters especially Chantel. some serious issues mixed with nonsense but it worked for me. I have the second book in the series ready..

Deliciously more-ish!!

Loved it. It is a captivating read and now I feel completely loved up (and in desperate need of some chocolate!)

A good read

Great story a bit of a chick book but still enjoyable to listen to a laugh in places.

Don’t be tempted,

I excepted lighthearted entertainment but it was depressing and irritating. There’s nothing light hearted about drug / gambling addiction, the main character was very annoying and the story was farcical.
2nd book in the series gets even more ridiculous, I really need to start listening to the first before buying anymore. Audible doesn’t allow returns so I usually listen to everything I’ve bought , even having it play in the background while I was busy was awful.
Narration was good but nothing to recommend the book, not even to a chocoholic.

Self indulgent, unlikeable main character

When there’s an unlikeable main character the book was not going to be great. A man who says ‘gorgeous’ in every sentence was annoying, add to that a ridiculous amount of chocolate eaten, to the point where I felt queasy listening, I certainly wouldn’t go back for any sequel. The only plus of this book was the narrator.

Enjoyable listen

I really liked this book.
it was funny, a bit frustrating at times at the situations the main character Lucy gets herself into but they set up the fun so I don't mind too much.
the story touches on subjects like eating disorders, addicts and infidelity but not in a serious and depressing way, just a real life sort of way.
The ending seemed a bit odd and abrupt to me but I've got the next one in my library already so off to hear more about the ladies in the clc

Deliciously chocolatey

If you want a predictable, funny and ultimately heartwarming hug of a book, this is a good choice.
