Summary

T2 Trainspotting was previously published as Porno.

Now a major film directed by Danny Boyle reuniting the cast of Trainspotting.

Years on from Trainspotting Sick Boy is back in Edinburgh after a long spell in London. Having failed spectacularly as a hustler, pimp, husband, father and businessman, Sick Boy taps into an opportunity which to him represents one last throw of the dice. However, to realise his ambitions within the Adult industries, Sick Boy must team up with old pal and fellow exile Mark Renton. Still scheming, still scamming, Sick Boy and Renton soon find out that they have unresolved issues to address concerning the unhinged Begbie, the troubled, drug-addled Spud, but, most of all, with each other.

Critic reviews

"Welsh has an uncanny talent for dialogue, and his writing is often diamond sharp." ( Publishers Weekly)

Where's the unabridged version?

I'd have happily paid more for a longer unabridged version of this. This felt rushed and incomplete. The perfomance was excellent but the sound editing was diabolical.
On to Skagboys next

Great fun, leaves you hanging... wanting more

Fantastic build up, my only nagging problem is the background plot seems like a re-run. Like return of the jedi to star wars. You know what I mean when you've heard it. Still well worth a look, great end leaves you wanting to know what happens to them next. Narrator is great, lots of passion. I also love it when male narrators have to speak from the point of view of a women... brings out the imature lad inside of me!

Great Book Ruined By Terrible Audio and Editing

What disappointed you about T2 Trainspotting?

This is an awful quality audio book. I gave up after an hour as the sound quality makes it sound like its been recorded on a nokia 3310 in a public toilet. The story was good just unlistenable.

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Tam Dean Burn?

N/A Audio was too bad to be able to tell.

Disappointed

This was very disappointing compared to previous audible additions of this story abridged to 6 hours while other languages get the full book totally unacceptable feel like I’ve been short changed

Great story/narration let down by audio quality

audio quality extremely poor. Could literally hear other ppl talking in the background and cut away at points to next chapter before finishing the last sentence of the previous chapter. Tam has a great voice and his delivery is great but totally let down by the poor production and audio quality.

Too hurried and shallow.

The sound quality is not up to the same standard as Skagboys or Trainspotting, though TDB is as great as ever. I'm not sure if this was a bad novel or it just seems that way because it's abridged (in spite of what it says on the cover), but there was no depth to the story or characters and the editing resulted in a hurried and flustered narration.

Wish T2 had followed the same story!

Fantastic 3 rd part of the story. Just wish the film adaptation could of been closer to the book

Loved it but crap sound quality!

Brilliant sequel to Trainspotting.
Well narrated but unfortunately the sound quality is poor and the editing a bit harsh in places.
Other than that, great
