Publisher's Summary

Blacklisted in the photography business when one of her shots causes a scandal, but desperate to somehow continue in the profession, Avery Tate answered an ad for a crime scene photographer. She fully expected to be laughed at, but crime scene analyst Parker Mitchell hired her outright - taking time to teach her the trade. Now she's half in love with the man, half terrified to even acknowledge her feelings, and completely hooked on the job - until the next crime hits too close to home. Avery attends the gallery opening of a new photography exhibit to support her best friend who modeled for the show. The only image of her, though, is a chilling photo of her posing dead. Only the photographer insists he didn't take the shot, and Avery's friend can't be found. As Avery and Parker, along with Parker's brilliant friends, begin to dig into the mystery, they find themselves face-to-face with a dangerous, relentless, and deadly threat which could endanger them all.

I purchased this book by accident, I'm not a suspense or thrill romance person, but after listening for a moment i was all in. Very good Christian read.

    Story
    "Who did what? When?"

A lot of ups and down, in and outs! Just when you think you know who done it and I was wrong. Wonderful Faith filled suspense, mystery, and intrigue. Dani Petry is a wonderful author and Therese Plummer is one of my most favorite narrators.

I loved this book. It had an intense mystery, a great romance and a wonderful back story. The narration added to the story in so many ways.

    Great job Dani Pettrey.

    Story
"Thrilling ride through a great mystery"

I really enjoyed this book as well as the first one in the series because its based in Baltimore which offers a great backdrop for a storyline. Being from the area the book was true to word and all the scenery and descriptions was excellent....Loved it.
Great characters following nicely from first book. They seem like super smart Godly people, which they were for real...but wow...dont they ever sleep and eat something besides starbucks and takeout or pizza...even the best characters have to eat.

"Did not like the characters. Gave up on the book."
What would have made Still Life better?

All different characters and a different story line. also, a different writing style. so basically, a different book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Dani Pettrey again?

I would have to look at the physical book and read a few chapters to see if I liked it first.

What does Therese Plummer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is a good narrator. She made the sample audio good enough that I bought it. The description of the book made it sound good.

What character would you cut from Still Life?

All of them. They are all people I would tend to avoid in real life. quite irritating.

Stuck on chapter 1 can't get it to move on to chapter 2! I've wasted a whole hour trying to figure out what to do. No more Audible books for me!
