Summary

New York Times best-selling author RaeAnne Thayne welcomes you to Haven Point, a small town full of big surprises that are both merry and bright. Nothing short of a miracle can restore Eliza Hayward's Christmas cheer. The job she pinned her dreams on has gone up in smoke - literally - and now she's stuck in an unfamiliar, if breathtaking, small town. Precariously close to being destitute, Eliza needs a hero, but she's not expecting one who almost runs her down with his car! Rescuing Eliza is pure instinct for tech genius Aidan Caine. At first, putting the renovation of his lakeside guest lodge in Eliza's hands assuages his guilt - until he sees how quickly he could fall for her. Having focused solely on his business for years, he never knew what his life was missing before Eliza, but now he's willing to risk his heart on a yuletide romance that could lead to forever.

Narrator ruined it for me

I tried to listen to it, but didn't make it far before the narrator got to be too annoying and I shut it off. Luckily I have the ebook, so I'll be able to finish the story, but I will be steering clear of this narrator in the future.

It Was Okay. I'll Try One More

The story was enjoyable. There is little conflict to overcome. But the problem I had with this was the narration. It was horrible. Bad accents, and she made the lead male character sound like a simp. And a lot of the prose she read with "up talk" raising the last word or two of a sentence as if it was a question. I will also add that audio books with child characters are not great for listening.. Dialog from a child in a written work is one thing but listening to their child-like whiney voices is brutal. I'll try one more if I can find a different narrator.

Eh Okay.

A bit long winded but enjoyable. Narrator didn't bother me as much as the other reviewers, but Aiden's voice was awful. This book was just so-so for me.

Love the story; the audiobook is okay.

Snow Angel Cove has just about everything that I love in a contemporary romance story. It is like reading a Hallmark movie.

Haven's Point is a small lakeside town located in the mountains of Idaho. The hero has a large, supportive family. The town is full of colorful personalities. The romance is sweet and develops nice and slowly across the book. One thing that I loved in particular about this story is that even though it is the first in this series, I felt like I already knew the large secondary cast when I began the story; the characters seem well-rounded from the beginning. The backstories of the leading male and leading female work well together, and the young daughter of the female lead adds to the story. If I'm being perfectly honest here, this story is one of those that feels like a nice, big hug.

This story features Christmas, snow, and the holidays pretty heavily, as opposed to those stories that use the holidays on their covers or in their titles. A nice holiday read is exactly what I was looking for when I picked it out as a read/listen.

My issue with the audiobook is that the narrator is just not right for this story. I'm not sure what it is about her reading, but it doesn't fit well. There isn't much of a distinction between the characters in the way of voice or emotion. This didn't really pull me out of the story or keep me from enjoying it, but it did keep me from really loving the audiobook. I ended up reading the story on my Kindle and in a paperback for more than half of the book -- I only listened to the audiobook when I was driving in my car.

Dont Bother

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

A six year old.

Would you ever listen to anything by RaeAnne Thayne again?

No.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her voices were HORRIBLE. The child in the book was annoying. She mixed the voices up. It was just awful.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment.

Any additional comments?

The author repeats the same thing over and over. She has the Hero talking about how cute the Heroin's daughter is, ad nauseam ....there was nothing masculine about the hero. The characters have no depth. It was actually annoying to listen to.

Boring and missing conflict

This book was boring. The main characters had obstacles to overcome before they met but they did not have to overcome anything to be together. I like when the characters have to earn their happy endings or at least work a little for them. There was also a lot of mentions of back story on the secondary characters. It read like the author was advertising those other books within this story. I did not feel that the mentions added to this story. It was misplaced and odd. Painful but I finished it.

Glad it was my free trial book

He book started off good but never went anywhere. I that it would have a little more drama/ substance in it. Author painted a nice picture but I got bored quick. I also didn't like the diction the author chose to use. To formal and not how the average person would talk.

The didn't care for the narrator either. It was hard to get a flow of the book I felt. I've heard many audiobook and this by far is my least favorite all the way around. 😒
