I'm getting really good at cutting my losses. First, the husband. Divorcing him was the best decision I ever made. But between single-parenting and job-hunting, I can't catch my breath. When a celebrity blogging position falls into my lap, I'm determined to succeed. That is, until I get my first assignment and actually see Noah Frazier for the first time...practically naked and dripping wet. My heart races and I forget how to form complete sentences. His chiseled abs, irresistible smirk, and crystal blue eyes are too perfect to be real. So, what do I do? Get drunk and humiliate myself, of course.
Growing up, the three of us were friends. He was the nerd. I was the playboy. She was the beauty. Deep down, I only ever wanted her. I kept it inside because Rory and I made a pact that our friend, Amber, was off-limits. He lied. I went off to college, and he got the girl. Amber never knew how I felt. They were together for years - before he broke her heart. Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch. When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.
My relationship with Hunter Delucia started backwards. We met at a wedding—him sitting on the groom’s side, me sitting on the bride’s. Stealing glances at each other throughout the night, there was no denying an intense, mutual attraction. I caught the bouquet; he caught the garter. Hunter held me tightly while we danced and suggested we explore the chemistry sparking between us. His blunt, dirty mouth should’ve turned me off. But for some crazy reason, it had the opposite effect on me. We ended up back in my hotel room. The next morning, I headed home to New York leaving him behind in California with the wrong number. I thought about him often, but after my last relationship, I’d sworn off of charming, cocky, gorgeous-as-sin men. A year later, Hunter and I met again at the birth of our friends’ baby. Our attraction hadn't dulled one bit. After a whirlwind trip, he demanded a real phone number this time. So I left him with my mother’s—she could scare away any man with her talks of babies and marriage—and flew back home. I’d thought it was funny, until the following week when he rang the bell at Mom’s house for Sunday night dinner. The crazy, gorgeous man had won over my mother and taken an eight-week assignment in my city. He proposed we spend that time screwing each other out of our systems. Eight weeks of mind-blowing sex with no strings attached? What did I have to lose?
Life is smooth sailing until these new roomies find themselves stuck between a rock and a very hard place. Get ready for four complete friends-to-lovers rom-com standalones: The Room Mate, The Play Mate, The House Mate, and The Soul Mate.
For six generations, the women of wine country have had a saying: don’t bang a Hunter man unless you want a bun in your oven. Yeah, well. I’ve got a saying too: no thanks. The last thing I need is baby makes three. My business is expanding, and the only thing I’m interested in getting knocked up is my bottom line. But then one night, Emma Haverford makes me an offer I can’t refuse - she backs away from the land I have my eye on in exchange for a favor...a big, fat, baby-making favor....
As one of Hollywood's A-listers, I have the movie industry in the palm of my hand. But if I'm going to stay at the top, my playboy image needs an overhaul. No more tabloid headlines. No more parties. And absolutely no more one-night stands. Filming for my latest blockbuster takes place on the coast of Maine, and I'm determined to stay out of trouble. But trouble finds me when I run into Lana Kelly.

When you think about how easy it is to lose keys, phones, sunglasses and your dignity on social media, you might figure it'd be a cinch for me to ditch my V Card. You'd be wrong. At 25, I run a successful business, live in a fantastic apartment, and have fabulous friends to go out with any night of the week. And yet I'm still a card-carrying member of a club I don't want to belong to anymore. Good thing I know just the man for the deflowering job - my brother’s business partner and best friend.
The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight -- telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass. You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend-smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married. He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.
New Orleans belongs to me. You don't know my name, but I control everything you see - and all the things you don't. My reach knows no bounds, and my demands are always met. I didn't need to loan money to a failing family distillery, but it amuses me to have them in my debt. To have her in my debt. She doesn't know she caught my attention. She should've been more careful. I'm going to own her. Consume her. Maybe even keep her. It's time to collect what I'm owed.
I'm writing this letter because it's highly doubtful I'll ever garner the courage to say this to your face. So, here goes. We're totally wrong for each other. You're the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. I'm just the carefree British doctor passing through town and temporarily living in your converted garage until I head back to England. But here's the thing... for some bloody reason, I can't stop thinking about you in very inappropriate ways.
The first time we met was at a party. Your ex arrived to show off the person he'd left you for last month, and you asked me to pretend to be your date. I was more than happy to help. You were attractive, smart and witty--and that kiss we shared? It left me wanting you for days. The second time we met was in my office on campus where we were both surprised to discover you were the new master’s degree student in poetry that I would be working with. You promised to be professional. I did no such thing. The late nights and intense study sessions spent alongside you majorly throw me off my game. I want you, and I fight with myself daily over this fact. I know I'm crass, that my sexual innuendos and dirty mouth annoy you, but I live for those two bright spots of color in your cheeks. If that's the only reaction I can get out of you, I'll gladly take it. You hate Mondays so every Monday I slip an anonymous poem into your bag and your smile gets me through the week. I think I'm falling for you, and I know it's wrong. I know that I'm only supposed to be the adviser to your program and nothing more, but here's the thing. I think you're falling for me too.
Garrett Daniels has this whole life thing figured out. The cocky, charismatic former high school star quarterback is an idolized football coach and "cool" teacher in the hometown where he's not just a golden boy - he's platinum. He has good friends, a great house on the lake, and the best damn sidekick a man could ask for: Snoopy, the albino beagle. Then...Callie Carpenter comes home.
Women often say a good man is hard to find. And a hard man is even better. That's why I'm quite a catch - good, hard, loaded, and wait for it...I'm ready to settle down too. But the woman I want to pitch my tent with lives clear across the country. Neither of us wants to get lost in those woods. All I have to do is resist her for the week she's in town.
Single dad Andrew Beckwith has already devoted his life to one girl - and as far as he's concerned, she's all he needs. The inked, rough-around-the-edges bad boy left his reckless ways behind six years ago when his daughter Bell was born. When Bell's mother walked out of their lives, Andrew vowed never to let another woman close enough to hurt them again. But when sharp-tongued Amelia and stubborn Andrew cross paths, sparks fly - and burn. After all, it's not as if opposites ever attract.
Rex Gunner. As bitter as he is beautiful. The owner of the largest construction company in Gingham Lakes has been burned one too many times. His wife leaving him to raise their daughter was the last blow this single dad could take. The only woman he'll let into his heart is his little girl. When Rex meets his new neighbor, he knows he's in trouble. She's gorgeous and sweet and everything he can't trust. Until she becomes the one thing he can't resist.
Kale Bryant. Arrogant. Gorgeous. Commanding. This ER doctor is married to his job. His only vice is one-night stands and short-lived flings. He learned a long time ago loving someone isn't worth the risk. Harley Hope Masterson. Beautiful. Brave. Sweet. The owner of a small coffee shop knows what it's like to struggle. Embroiled in a bitter divorce, she's threatened with losing everything. When Kale accepts a new position down the street from Hope's shop, he begins to question every wall he's built around his heart.
It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I'd never been able to forget - even though he so easily forgot about me - and call him. Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you've had a little too much wine before bed, right? It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless prank call. Instead I went off on him - unloading 13 years of pent-up emotions. I didn't think he'd call me back.
I'm not a one-night stand kind of woman. I'm especially not the woman who has a few drinks at a concert and ends up in bed with my childhood celebrity crush, Eli Walsh. However, that's exactly where I find myself. What's a girl to do after a drunken mistake? Run. I grab my clothes and get away from the powerful, irresistible, and best-sex-of-my-life superstar as fast as I can.
Luke Wilder knows the lovely stranger doesn't belong the second she struts into his sleepy little town. She's a city girl who won't stay longer than it takes to get her fancy foreign car repaired - which is why he should ignore his powerful need to make her notice him. It's just that the moment she opens her smart mouth and gives it back as good as she gets, he wants to swap a whole lot more with her than insults.
Charlotte Freemont instantly dislikes the rude, redneck stranger she finds herself stuck with. Too bad he's as hot, and as tempting, as sin. On the run from her messy past, she's not there to get tangled up with a man, even one as hard to resist as the hotheaded Luke. But when he gives her a private tour of his craft whiskey distillery, their attraction ignites and Luke seizes the chance to show her there's a whole lot more to him than rough and rugged.
When he finally learns her secret, will it shatter his trust in her? Or do they have a chance to create a whole new blend?
A sizzling, enemies-to-lovers romp with bite.
Socialite runaway bride meets small town good old boy in this audiobook by Kendall Ryan. I enjoyed listening to this story and the narration was well performed. The heroine has been controlled by her wealthy parents all her life and jilts her fiancé (chosen by her parents) at the altar. On the run from New York to LA, she has car trouble in a small town in Texas where she meets the hero. While waiting for her expensive car to be fixed, they start an affair and her priorities and thinking changes. He's phobic about city women and she has to get him to realize that they fit. While not the most original story, this was a good book to listen to.

It was a sweet, steamy listen. A too busy New York socialite lands in a small Texas town with car problems. Oh what's a girl to do? She gets lucky when she meets a handsome Texan. Great narration! Only reason for one star dropped is the short listen. I enjoy catching up on these short listens while on the Romance package.
This was an excellent book. The story reminded me of the Doc Hollywood movie. Still a great story. Just a different twist than the Michael J. Fox story. You can't go wrong with Sebastian York and Ava Erickson. Loved this listen.
Would you listen to Sexy Stranger again? Why?
don't think so ... maybe bits and pieces ... not the whole story though.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Luke ... there is always something that pulls me in when a character is named Luke ... it started with Luke Perry ... what can I say. girlie giggles!! ( ;
Have you listened to any of Ava Erickson and Sebastian York ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I know Sebastian ... Ava is new to me ... I will look more into her though. I appreciate or enjoy them together.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
This statement is always hard for me ... Kendall Ryan's books are always hot and heavy. lots of steam. ( ;
Kendall always delivers fun, sexy HEAs and this story of a socialite running from her past in New York who happens upon Luke’s small town when her car breaks down is fantastic as usual.
Sweet small town hero Luke finds insta love when Charlotte sweeps into his town and gives him her advice on how to make his whiskey distillery the place to be. But Luke has tried to make a girl stay in his small town before and will never ever plead with anyone to stay with him or will he?
Love these Narrators, especially Sebastian York*swoon*
This story is just like the drink A LITTLE WILDER that Luke made, traditional, old fashioned with a twist of something modern.
Well done Kendall ♥️
Great quick listen, and even better when it’s Sebastian York & Ava. Kendall Ryan can you make them your narrators for all of yours books! Super sweet fun quick romance!
enjoyed this audio version. well performed, lived up to the written version. loves it. give it a listen
loved it...loved it ...very sweet storyline ....love Sebastian and Ava ...you felt right in the story♡♡
I loved this book! It was such a good "finding yourself", realization story! Charlotte was leaving her family and life in New York to go to California to be with her best friend...she was just trying to escape everything. But along the way her car broke down in a small Texas town and her life was changed forever after meeting the Wilder family - twins Luke and Duke, and their sister Molly. Sometimes the most foreign and unexpected things can open your eyes and impact you in ways you never imagined. That was definitely the case for Charlotte. What a touching and enjoyable story with such a great message! And sweet, but steamy love scenes! It just doesn't get any better than this! Kendall Ryan knocked it out of the park!
And the narration was spot on! Just a fantastic job by both Ava and Sebastian! I love both of them and they were just as great as expected! They made the book so wonderful to listen to! I looked forward to my drive every day!
