Meet Blaire. An underachieving college student with zero prospects and a ton of issues (hey, being the less-successful twin of a gorgeous supermodel would totally do that to you). She doesn't do bad boys. Actually, she doesn't do boys, like, at all. Not that she's a lesbian. And not that there's anything wrong with being one. It's just that...well...she kind of needs to focus on graduating from college right now.
I don't believe in fairy tales and Prince Charming. I believe in fear. He taught me how to be afraid. We first met on a playground on a wonderful summer day. It was the first time he hurt me and it wouldn't be the last. For 10 years, he's been my tormentor and I've been his forbidden. But then he went away, and yet I was still afraid. Now, he's back, and wants more than just my tears. You see...he thinks I sent him away so now he wants revenge...and he knows just how to get it.
For six generations, the women of wine country have had a saying: don’t bang a Hunter man unless you want a bun in your oven. Yeah, well. I’ve got a saying too: no thanks. The last thing I need is baby makes three. My business is expanding, and the only thing I’m interested in getting knocked up is my bottom line. But then one night, Emma Haverford makes me an offer I can’t refuse - she backs away from the land I have my eye on in exchange for a favor...a big, fat, baby-making favor....
It was a hot summer day when I met him on the construction site next to my parents' house. Under the sweat and dirt, Manning Sutter was as handsome as the sun was bright. He was older, darker, experienced. I wore a smiley-face t-shirt and had never even been kissed. I was too young, he said. I would wait. But I'd learn that no matter what you achieve in life, it means nothing if you suffer the heartbreak that comes with falling for someone you can never have. Because even though I saw Manning first, that didn't matter. My older sister saw him next.
Amber Walker and her older brother, Jake, have an abusive father. One night, her brother's best friend, Liam, sees her crying and climbs through her bedroom window to comfort her. That one action sparks a love/hate relationship that spans over the next eight years. What happens when Amber starts to view her brother's best friend a little differently? And how will her brother, who has always been a little overprotective, react when he finds out that the pair are growing closer?
Noelle Charlston lives a fairy-tale life: a doting father, a powerful job, and a future blessed with financial security. However, two meetings with two men changes her happy existence forever. First, she meets the man who makes her heart sing. Three years later, she meets the man who makes her blood quiver. Broken-hearted from a teenage romance, Noelle's freedom is no longer hers. He taught me to kill. Murder is in my blood now. It runs through my veins and though I hide the monster I see in the mirror with ink, it doesn't keep him from coming out. My street name is Mercy, but I never show any. Except for her. I watch Becca, though she doesn't know. She saved me a long time ago; the day my father killed my mother. Her bravery turned her into a target. My father holds a grudge and knife with the same proficiency, and Becca is the focus of his hatred. And I'm the only monster who can save her.
I'm writing this letter because it's highly doubtful I'll ever garner the courage to say this to your face. So, here goes. We're totally wrong for each other. You're the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. I'm just the carefree British doctor passing through town and temporarily living in your converted garage until I head back to England. But here's the thing... for some bloody reason, I can't stop thinking about you in very inappropriate ways.
Once upon a time, I was an 18-year-old psychology student. Now, I'm a man's property. Stolen and sold, I've been decorated in bruises since the day my world changed two years ago. I suffer in silence, I crave freedom, but I never break. I can't. Until he arrives. Elder Prest, the only man to look at me and see me. The only man more ruthless than my owner. He wants me for reasons I don't understand. He claims me for one night then leaves and never looks back. Until he returns. And life becomes much more complicated.
He's a troubled young actor, Hollywood's newest heartthrob, struggling with fame as the star of the latest superhero franchise. Through scandal after scandal, addiction on top of addiction, a flurry of paparazzi hunt him as he fights to conquer his demons. She's a single mother, assistant manager at a grocery store, existing in monotony with her five-year-old daughter. Every day when she goes to work, lurid tabloids surround her, the face of a notorious bad boy haunting her from their covers.
Sharing a summer house with a hot-as-hell roommate should be a dream come true, right? Not when it's Justin...the only person I'd ever loved...who now hates me. When my grandmother died and left me half of the house on Aquidneck Island, there was a catch: the other half would go to the boy she helped raise.
I was 12 when I started crushing on him. I was 17 when I met him by chance, and our connection was made. Now here I am, 23, and I'm one of the two actresses in the video for his band's latest single. Jesse Kingston is a tall, dark, and gorgeous temptation I'm finding hard to resist. It ends up not being as simple as doing a job and going home. It can't be when he continually makes his presence known with his not-so-innocent touches and sexy words.
Damian Tate. One look into his sad green eyes and I was hooked. I wanted to be the one to make him laugh, to make him smile. I hadn't expected him to be the one to make me blush, to make me hot...to make me fall in love. He was my first kiss, my first love, my first everything. I wanted forever with him, but life got in the way.
Two stories so deeply intertwined, you'll think you know how they intersect... but you'll be wrong.... Zack Martin The day I met Emily Bennett my whole world changed. Sure, we were just kids, but I was old enough to know my life would never be the same. She was my best friend. My destiny. My fate. I wasn't wrong... I just didn't know how twisted fate could be.
He was someone who belonged in my wildest fantasies instead of a rest stop in the middle of Nebraska. A sexy, cocky Australian named Chance was the last person I expected to run into on my cross-country drive. When my car broke down, we made a deal. Next thing I knew, we were traveling together, spending sexually tense nights in hotels, and taking unplanned detours. My ordinary road trip turned into the adventure of a lifetime. It was all fun and games until things got intense.
One word. Stay. It was all he had to do. Instead, he got on that bus and took my heart with him. That was 17 years ago. I moved on. Marriage. Kids. White picket fence. Everything I ever wanted, but my husband betrayed me and I was left once again.
I expected my new assistant to be professional and punctual, but all I'm getting are dirty looks and rude comments. I should fire the little hellion, but instead all I can think about is bending her over my desk and breaking every rule I've ever made for myself. One look. One touch. One night. If we break the rules, our lives will never be the same again. Good thing rules were made to be broken. And besides, it feels so good to tempt the boss.
After a phone call changes my life, I shut the world out. I'm paralyzed by the fear gripping me; the darkness becomes inescapable. When I refuse to open my door, my best friend goes to the most notorious man in town. Bruno's known to everyone in the neighborhood - he's feared and only spoken about in whispers. Only there's a problem: After he breaks down my door, he doesn't want to leave.
New York Times, Wall Street Journal, & USA Today best-selling stand-alone novel...
I'm not your typical girl. I've been running away from the memories that haunt me for so long that depression has become my only comfort. I was content in the darkness...until Wes Michels offered to be my light.
I didn't know that time wasn't my ally - that every second that ticked past was one step closer to the end of something that was beginning to mean the end of myself. He tried to warn me. He promised me all he was able to offer - each moment as it came - but it would never be enough.
Sometimes when you think it's the end, it's only the beginning. Wes thought he could save me, but in giving me everything, he ruined me. Because after one kiss, one touch, I couldn't - I wouldn't ever be the same.
And from that moment on, his heartbeat became my own.
If I could say one thing about this book, one thing that would convince you to read it, that thing would be "Wes Michals." The story is wonderful, so is Kiersten, and so are the secondary characters, Gabe and Lisa, but Wes Michals is a guy that stands out about other guys, a guy that stands out among book boyfriends everywhere, and he totally makes this books.
Kiersten is a freshman in her first year at college. She is a beautiful girl, even if she doesn't realize it. She has also had a very hard time as the result of a tragedy in her life, something that has left her scarred emotionally, something that has almost wrecked her, something that has sent her into the pits of depression so deep sometimes she didn't know if she could make it out......until she meets Wes Michals. Wes is a senior, the all-star quarterback, oh so very hot, charming, and oh so swoon-worthy. Wes Michals also ends up being the light that brings Kiersten out of her pit of darkness. Wes normally doesn't date, especially freshman, but there is just something about this girl that captivated him from the moment he met her, something he just can't resist, despite the secret that he is living with and the future that secret holds for him. Sometimes though, love and miracles go hand in hand........
I loved Ruin, absolutely loved it. The story itself will make you smile, swoon, cry, laugh, and leave you completely sated by the end. Wes and Kiersten's story is heartbreakingly beautiful and I just loved it. The secondary characters, namely Gabe, were also fantastic and Gabe kind of stole my heart to. His story is next in the series and I loved it as well. I love Rachel Van Dyken's writing and she has done an outstanding job of creating a contemporary romance that will captivate you. Ruin is one of those books you will remember for a long time and I am so glad I took the time to read/listen to it.
Audio Review:
Narrated By Eileen Stevens, Stephen Bel Davies
I really enjoyed the audio of the books, but the narrator for Wes though he was a good narrator, sounded like an old man, way too old to be Wes. That didn't deter my enjoyment of the book, but I would have definitely picked someone with a younger voice. The narrator for Kiersten was great though.

I liked the story. It was cute. However, I absolutely hated when the male narrator read. He sounded like he was 60 years old instead of the young, hot college student the character was supposed to be. The female should have just done the entire book. Otherwise, it was a cute love story.

This was a sweet love story! I liked how clean and innocent it is. My only gripe is that the male narrator sounds about 70.

Struggled to finish because the male narrator sounds like a old man's voice when the character is supposed to be 21 yrs old. Also when you see the cover of the book and then you hear the characters voice, very disappointing. If you pick someone to narrate your books make sure they somewhat match how they are supposed to protray the character. The female narrator was just fine.
I loved this strory so sweet and heartbreaking I laughed cried but fell in love with these characters.
...sadly, I have had this audio book for over 8 months..... and today I am wondering what in the world took me so long to listen to this. One of the funniest, emotionally gripping books that I have listened to in a while. Sooo sorry it took me so long to listen to this. But such a nice surprise buried in my archive.
I loved the book and the audio book was perfect! I look forward to listening to the rest of the series!
West voice bothered me he sounded like 40 instead of 20.
Story was great. I love a good sappy romance and it wasn't too Sappy. It was beautiful .
Loved it
All though it is sappy at times, the story was great. It kept you fully engaged the whole time and was a beautiful story of finding love where you least expect it. I highly recommend this story.
Pretty good. I'll definitely read Gabe's story. Cute, sad and sweet :)
Gabe cracked me up
