Summary

It is a time of unrest in the BookWorld. Only the diplomatic skills of ace literary detective Thursday Next can avert a devastating genre war. But a week before the peace talks, Thursday vanishes. Has she simply returned home to the RealWorld or is this something more sinister? All is not yet lost. Living at the quiet end of speculative fiction is the written Thursday Next, eager to prove herself worthy of her illustrious namesake. The fictional Thursday is soon hot on the trail of her factual alter-ego, and quickly stumbles upon a plot so fiendish that it threatens the very BookWorld itself.

Please note: Chapter 13 has been intentionally omitted from this title.

Another amazing book

I was sceptical at the beginning but goodness loved it!!! Extraordinary with a very well-written plot. Fforde keeps pleasantly surprising me. Each book is better than the one before! I definitely recommend it!!

Worth a listen but not many more

I would like to start with i did enjoy this book. But you need to be able to pay attention to all the information given to you about the written world. I like to listen while doing my cleaning but found this one hard to keep track of the writers descriptions. Not sure if would listen to it again, but would probably find it easier the second time round and more enjoyable.

Unexpected

Not expecting to see Thursday in the second or is that third person. Brilliant grasp of the world construct sort of real as you would understand but with a twist. I will certainly be on the lookout for thin squares. As always brilliant narration and excellent story. Highly recommended

Don't make this one your first Thurs Next book!

My least favourite in the series so far, but really glad that Gabrielle Kruger returned to narrating them.

Great story as always. So very clever

A little over complicated at some points but still a good story and some laugh out loud moments

Much better

Much better than last two - mainly because of the narrator. Landen is back no longer the breathy drip as read by the last narrator!

Good plot more of an adventure feel to it than the last two.
Enjoyed it.
