Publisher's Summary

1271 A.D. - The Wolfe's greatest son is a man known as NIGHTHAWK.

Patrick de Wolfe is every bit his father's son - cunning, intelligent, and ruthless. An enormous man with his father's dark hair and his mother's pale green eyes, he's the man destined to lead William de Wolfe's great legacy. He is so great, in fact, that the king has personally asked for his service, as one of the king's personal body guards. On the eve of Patrick departing for this auspicious assignment, he finds himself caught up in a skirmish along the Scots border.

And a prize lands in his lap that will change his destiny.

A prize in the form of a Scots captive harboring a deadly and important secret, one that could bring war and destruction upon those who shelter her. When Brighton “Bridey” de Favereux is rescued by the powerful English knight, she is taken back to the massive fortress of Questing Castle, seat of the legendary de Wolfe family. Having known nothing but hardship and cruelty her entire life, she is surprised when they are kind to her. The English, who are supposed to be her mortal enemy, are gracious and generous. For the first time, she understands that people can be kind to each other.

And the kindest one of all is the man who saved her.

Some loves are unexpected while others are instantly realized. The love between Patrick and Brighton is something that comes from a deeper place of understanding and attraction, a powerful love that cannot be denied… but it is a love that may cost them both their very lives when Bridey's terrible secret is uncovered.

Nighthawk was blessed to have such a wise father as William de Wolfe. A lot of lessons can be learned with this one. True love never dies. Brad Wills knows how to capture the sense of removal of your normal daily grind. Let him! It will lift you up as nothing else can.

    "A Medieval Tale Comes Alive"

I decided to begin the “De Wolfe Dynasty “ and try it on audible. I enjoy the English and Scottish drawl. What a delight it’s been. The story kept me hooked and company as I did my chores and then supplanted the TV. I look forward to enjoying additional stories on audible. My only wish is that there would be a female reading the female parts. I find the male read of female parts sometimes irritating.

"Not as good as book 0 or Book 1, but enjoyable "

This tale, of "The Wolf's" 3rd and favorite son, was an tales of lost loves, new loves, betrayal and retribution.
This son was known as Nighthawk and he was as great of a warrior as his father. Nighthawk makes a promise to a dying nun to protect the Heroine, for there are those which are out to kill her. The Hero and Heroine fall in love within days and Marry in a secret ceremony.
There is a mystery solved, a battle to the death for the hand of the Heroine, a introduction to a Norse King and a sad tale of the tragic death of a lost love, before the HEA.
This book wasn't as emotionally chareged, as the last book and it was only half the length. Just the length itself makes this book impossible to be a great as the last book. in addition, the narration is disappointing. the narrator had great voices for the males was awesome but the female voices were like nails on a chalkboard. Dual n narration 208729628769658528889625367285501248337875838847497838469469929504514963773873853275837694570274386325897836368487578743757736982906747284082076362786169 2 8239159282240 9743 7383 35252 52 49019026406062669802 0 20 95815835558

    "Not one of my favorites"

I Love Le Veque books however this one in particular let me down. The love was firmly in place quickly and following book one it really fell short developing any qualities that would make the heroine lovable. She had nothing to provoke the love and devotion from the hero except her beauty. In book one the heroine was a spitfire and fought like a man and was opinionated and strong and here the heroine is the exact opposite. I lost interest completely once they married and all that is left for the next 3 hours will be eliminating the villain. My recommendation is to read book one and stop.

    "Another Levesque winner, Highly recommended"

I an avid LeVeque devotee. Read all of her releases, then depending on the narrator, choose an audio copy. I am rarely disappointed, this one was no exception. Narrator did really well with distinguishing various characters and the accents. Thought Brighton's was very well done. I always love the linking of characters and families from book to book. It is like coming home. I am amazed at the depth of Kathryn's backgrounds and story links, a real master storyteller!

    "Outstanding"
What about Brad Wills’s performance did you like?

Brad Wills is incredibly talented. He doesn't just narrate a book, he performs it. I wish all narrators performed books like this. But I'm afraid Brad is in a league of his own. This performance is outstanding. Brad brings this book to life. Flawless.

    Any additional comments?

Kathryn Le Veque wrote an amazing story. Do not pass this book by. The Wolfe gang is back together in this book. I feel like I've waited forever for a story like this from Kathryn.
This is truly as great as the the original story, The Wolfe. Be sure and get this book. The story is amazing and the narrating is outstanding. Loved it.
