Der Text vermittelt Stimmungen, Atmosphärisches. Interessant ist der Roman, es ist Loes zweiter, weil er uns einiges verrät über das norwegische Lebensgefühl. Er strahlt Gelassenheit aus und macht das Aggressionsarme der norwegischen Welt in all seiner lebenbejahenden Besonderheit erfahrbar. Unterstrichen durch direkte Sprache und seine treffende Wortwahl, erschafft Loe eine ganz eigene Situationskomik.
