Publisher's Summary

Ethan Matthews always felt he was second best. His brother received all the praise, never him. Ethan took a dark, lonely road, turning to alcohol and women to avoid the jealousy that ate away at him. But the demons of his past continued to resurface. He decided to turn his life around with the help of the person he treated the worst -- his brother.

Piper Lazara struggled for most of her life. She lost almost everyone she loved and lived in poverty. Despite the obstacles, she worked hard and finished nursing school. She never believed in love at first sight, so she tried dismissing her feelings when Ethan entered her life, leaving her heart and head at war over whether she'd take a chance on love.

Ethan knew he shouldn't get involved with anyone at this turning point of his life, but from the moment he laid eyes on her, he couldn't stop thinking about the raven-haired beauty. He didn't know if she felt the same, but it was time he found out. Their lives were in danger, causing family to step in and offer support. Ethan would do whatever it took to protect the woman who had become his everything. He never thought he deserved happiness, but Piper gave him the redemption he so desperately desired.

    "Enjoyable, relatable with delicious characters!"

While this is a stand alone romance, it is the second book in the series. There are several references to incidents in the first book. I enjoyed listening to this audiobook despite not having listened to or read the first book.

That said, in simple terms, I liked this story. I liked the characters. They felt realistic and therefore were easy to relate to. They had relatable issues and insecurities. Of course they also had their intense attraction that throws them both for a loop.

The danger that challenges their relationship doesn't enter their lives in a predictable way. Michelle Dare has a flare for weaving realistic scenarios into a story without making it boring or overly simplistic. She takes the reader on a journey and unashamedly leaves them on edge before tying the story up neatly in a satisfactory way. I just hope the series continues because there are some supporting characters in the book that deserve their own HEA.

I enjoyed Logan McAllister narration of the story. He has a pleasant performance voice that brings the book to life.

This is a an emotional love story that touched my heart . It is beautiful, the selfless romantic devotion of two damaged people who are ready to give heart and soul to each other. There is substance to the story and it is clean with the violence modified. I like that it has moments of great passion and excitement without being explicit. That was never needed to make it good. The narrator is excellent I liked him a lot, he was right for the book, an excellent choice.

    "A great read!"

A read that kept me on the edge of my seat, eagerly awaiting for the next line, for the next page, for the next chapter. A read full of surprises. A read full of redemption. An amazing love story!

The narrator has got some serious talent. He draws you in from the very first word spoken. Well done! An excellent voice.

Perfect for readers of second chance romances/romantic suspense.

    "My Redemption Review..."

Decent start, but the story petered out after an hour or so. Book could have been shortened, weak plot. Narrator decent. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

    "Good"

I got this via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This is part of a series but is well read as a stand-alone. This is filled with twists and turns that make
Ethan and Piper's story memorable. The suspense sneaks up on you and makes the story interesting. The narrator was perfect for this book.

    "Good Listen "

Ethan thinks he does nor deserve anything good in life until Piper. They start a slow relationship and fall quick. They are now fighting for their lives and her struggle to accept help. Great Narration. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.

    "Lacked substance "

I received a free copy in exchange for an unbiased review. This one was tough for me to get through. I love a good love story but, this one was a little to much. Ethan and Piper had this attraction from first sight but, they didn't act on it. Then finally at Ethan's brother Owen's wedding they decided to take a chance on each other and it was all perfect after that. The only unpredictable part of this story line was Piper's dad Colin and his gambling debt drama. The story ended very abruptly and lacked closure.

    "Suspenseful Romance "

This was a pretty good audiobook. This is book two of the Salvation Series. Although it is part of a series, it can be also read as a stand-alone book. It is a well written book with some twists and turns. There is suspense, danger, action, and romance.

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life. I love his voice!

There are a lot of unexpected obstacles that get on their way but Ethan is a great man and steps to the plate to help Piper when things get crazy. Sweet HEA after a rollercoaster of a ride! I enjoyed the main characters and several of the secondary characters as well.

This is a great love story about two flawed people trying to find love.

    "Wow!"

I really enjoyed listening to this book. This book is both a standalone listen and part of a series. The highlight of this book is Ethan and Piper, while Owen & Cali from My Salvation are mentioned in this story. In fact, Ethan and Piper meet at their wedding in Hawaii. I loved the twists and turns this book had, and thought it was nice that two flawed people had a second chance at finding redemption through love. The author did a great job with the suspense and action in this story along with so many real emotions. Their journey was not smooth sailing, and it seemed like the obstacles were going to defeat them, but determination and hope prevail. The narrator, Logan McAllister did an excellent performance with this book. His voice is so nice to listen to. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.

    "Pretty amazing! "

I wasn't sure what to expect in this and after reading a few reviews before diving in realized I may be a little lost because I skipped the first book. That aside this is amazing. I will be getting the first book. I don't know what happened to the first characters but from what I read I cannot wait to see how their story began. This was such a great book.

Michelle Dare does a great job getting you hooked in and pulls you along as the story grows. It is a great 2nd chance love story with a good amount of suspense and a good bit of sex. Very well written and very fun to listen to!

The narrator Logan McAllister has got one amazing voice. I look forward to many more form him. He was great at conveying the emotions of the situation. Once I realized what type of book this was going to be I wont lie I was surprised a man was reading it. ONLY because all the other books that follow a similar way of writing I've read before were all narrated by women. But I LOVED it. His voice is smooth and really brings to life the pages of this book from the first chapter all the way to the end! I was excited to see he is also the narrator for the first book as well!

Amazing story. Very worth a credit! But I would recommend reading the first book then this one so you can see what happens with Callie and Owen and more about Callie relationship with Piper.
