Destiny only puts events into motion. The rest is up to you.
Desert fox shifter Ella Kitt is better at risking her life than her heart. Not that she expects to do either when she flies to Maui to help her special forces comrades with an easy security job. Or maybe not such an easy job, because she’s forced to work - and live - in close quarters with smoking-hot army hero Jake McBride. Jake isn’t just the one-night stand she can’t forget - he’s also a human, totally off-limits to shifters of her kind.
Ever since that one scorching night with Ella 18 months ago, Jake has been trying to convince himself he’s not in love. But when destiny reunites him with his kick-ass lover, he can’t deny the attraction any more. There’s something powerful and alluring about Ella - plus a hidden, sensual side she’s never revealed to any other man. And there's so much mystery surrounding Ella and his new employers at Koa Point. How exactly can a group of special forces vets afford to live on an exclusive oceanfront estate? What kind of enemy are they on guard against in their sun-kissed corner of paradise? And is that enemy targeting someone at the estate - or targeting Jake?

I loved this audio and with the other audio books from this series it makes a great collection
This book was fun and funny. The characters were funny and the book had a plot. I enjoyed the book.and love that the series isn't ending. The one thing I didn't like was the lengthy dialog. I would still read and listen to the book again.
Jake is down right, take home to momma drool worthy. Ella was a darling. Her conflict and her back & forth with her fox was drawn out and dramatic. There was quite a bit of action with the story. It was a good way to wrap up the series. There was a tidbit of each of the guys and their mates. While there was a lot more that we could have learned about the bad guys, I was happy that the story wasn’t dragged down with details about the hows and wheres of the bad guys.
Kelsey Osborn continues the streak as the awesome narrator in bringing these stories to life. She creates the story in front of you bringing the words off of the pages in story teller style. Drawing the listener in as if sitting in front of her.
As the last in the series, it was still completely stand alone. Hopefully we won’t have to leave the beaches of Hawaii for long.
I was so happy to see Ella get a book. There was always something intriguing about her. I loved her with Jake. I ached every time Ella would remind her fox why she couldn't mate with Jake. The smexy scene in the hotel was scorching!
I truly loved how Jake handled finding out about shifters and didn’t let it scare him away from the woman he loved or his friends. It showed what a strong person he really is.
The ending was somewhat predictable as we know the main characters will ride off into the sunset together. Still…it was a satisfying ending to the series.
Ms. Lowe did a great job of weaving the 5 books into a great series to read and/or listen. Ms. Osborne’s narration was well done as well.
While this series is complete, Moira is still out there somewhere planning her evil schemes. Thank goodness we have a spin-off series coming so we can eventually see her downfall. I'm hoping the original Island crew has cameos so we can peek in on their lives.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of the audiobook.
I loved this book! I had read it first and completely enjoyed it. Hearing it gives a new twist on it. Ella and Jake are amazing! A terrific live story that is very hot! I need more of these shifters!
kelsey has done it again.. this is as always one of my favorite series by anna lowe and kelsey has hit it on the head with these characters and her portrayal of them.. i felt their emotions and their laughter.. i was happy with them and sad with them. it was amazing!
Would you listen to Lure of the Fox again? Why?
Yes, the book was like a paranormal A -Team, Magnum PI , meets True Blood. Can't beat their furry Head of Security.
What did you like best about this story?
I love the reverse of characters. The male mate and the female shifter. Gives the book a different vibe. All the elements that makes this series great is in this book. Romance, action, danger and a beautiful location.
What does Kelsey Osborne bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
It's great having the characters brought to life.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Ella and Jake meet again.
Any additional comments?
I was gifted this copy by the author, however, my review and my opinion are my own.
I always love this narrator for Anna's books. I was given a copy of this audio version by the author and even though I read the book I love to listen to it and hear the story again. I am leaving a copy of my review of the ebook.
I am very sad that this is the part book in this series, but very happy that Anna already has a new series coming for the same location. It was going to almost as hard to leave beautiful Maui and it was to leave the desert of Arizona, fortunately I don't have to worry about that yet.
Ella is a fox shifter from Arizona who served in the special forces with Silas, Kai, Boone, Hunter, and Cruz. She also spent part of her formative years being taken care of by the same owl shifter who raised Kai and Hunter on Maui. She had come to help out the shifters of Koa Point as extra security as they are a little distracted by the upcoming nuptials of Silas and Cassandra and the imminent birth of Boone and Nina's twins.
Jacob is a human whose unit did some work with Silas and company before they left the military. He had heard the strange rumors about the members of that unit being shifters, but he has no idea if they are true. Now that he has been discharged from the service he is looking for work. Boone was happy to enlist him to assist in security at Koa Point. Jake was happy to find work, and even happier to find out Ella was part of the detail.
Jake and Ella spent one night together while in a war zone. They agreed that it was a one time thing, but neither one can forget it. Ella knows that Jake is her mate. Unlike female humans, males often don't survive the mating bite of a shifter. Ella has first hand knowledge of what happens if the male is not strong enough to make the conversion to shifter. She is determined that Jake will not become a victim of her mating bite, no matter how much her inner fox insists.
Find out what happens when Jake and Ella are thrown together in beautiful Maui.
A quote from the book Destiny only puts events into motion. The rest is up to you!
Ella Kitt is a desert fox shifter, she was part of a special forces group and is helping her comrades in Maui. Risking her life is fine but never her heart.
Jake Mcbride is a army hero and human. In her mind humans are off limits.
Both are at Koa Point and destiny is at play.
Oh I love this story it's a wonderful add to the awsome series. The action, spice, adventure and danger. Great story. I couldn't put it down and so didn't want it to end! If your into shifter you will love this one.
I am really getting into listening to audible. So handy when I am ironing or busy in the office. I have posted a review for this book as well which I will include at the end. Found this one more enjoyable than previous books. Not sure if I have just gotten used to the narrator’s style or if there was less tension in this book. Still find there is a lack of inflection with this narrator but she is better than others I have listened too. When I read either out loud or in my mind, I put emphasise on things. An enjoyable story told fairly well. BOOK REVIEW Another great story in this series that finally gives us Ella’s story. The fact her mate is a fellow soldier from the days the shifters of Koa Point served in the forces is a lovely twist. Ella has been a part of this series since book one though we have never met her. She is one of the boys and a respected member of their elite forces team. Jake was also in the military and knows all the guys from Koa Point but does not know about shifters. Loved the way this story unfolded with interesting things happening and at the same time we learn more about the childhood past of Ella, Boone and Hunter. Loved how the Keystone come into Jakes possession and how he found it. It will be really interesting to see what happens if the stones need to be used against Moira. Ella and Jake dance around each other for ages before they start to see they are meant to be. It takes a serious incident for Ella to see they are meant to be together. So sad about what happened to Ella’s mum and Brian, no wonder she was running afraid of mating Jake. The baddie Goode was unique and I am very happy with what happened to him. The ending with everyone at Koa Point together for Cassandra and Silas’ wedding was so heart-warming and sweet. Loved having memories of our holiday in Hawaii refreshed.
