Welcome back to Gansett Island! Series favorite Tiffany Sturgil steals the spotlight in Longing for Love as her new boutique Naughty & Nice opens in downtown Gansett, right in time for the annual spring Race Week festivities. Finally divorced and ready for a new beginning, Tiffany wonders if sexy Police Chief Blaine Taylor thinks of her as often as she thinks of him since their explosive encounter last fall. Back then he directed her to call him the second she was officially divorced, but the opening of her store and her unconventional advertising "campaign" have put the island's lingerie queen at odds with the town's top cop. Despite their clashes, when these two finally get together after months of steamy build up, listeners will need to keep a fire extinguisher close at hand!
Blaine has been burned in the past by love affairs gone wrong, and he's wary about risking too much too soon. But he quickly discovers that Tiffany's sarcastic rejoinders and bitter outer shell hide a badly wounded heart of gold. He also discovers she's a "sex-toy fraud" and convinces her she can't possibly sell the merchandise without trying it out first.... While he finds himself thinking of her all the time, the mayor is after him to curb her sexy advertising and his mother worries that Blaine has taken on another "project" who will break his heart.
As Blaine and Tiffany fight for their happily ever after, listeners' favorite characters from past books are back for more island adventures. Joe and Janey return to Gansett for the summer and discover the big secret his mother has been keeping. Evan learns that Grace hasn't told her parents about him. Stephanie's restaurant is ready to open in the renovated Sand & Surf Hotel. Dan keeps showing up to "visit" Kara at work, Mac is worried about Maddie's upcoming meeting with her deadbeat dad and a Race Week catastrophe reminds everyone what's really important. The McCarthys of Gansett Island takes a decidedly erotic turn in this seventh book! If hot, sexy men in uniform cavorting with hot, sexy women who sell sex toys for a living aren't your thing, this book might not be for you!
Blaine and Tiffany story is a awesome. The characters are strong and entertaining. a great way to enjoy such a book. you will learn if a tradagy that almost destoiries the amazing Island of Gansett. This series is just simply amazing. such a fantastic series to be on audible
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The narrating was bad.The story was good.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I just enjoyed the subject and the store was a hoot.Tiffany was fun.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Holly Fielding?
Amy McFadden , Therese Plummer or Tanya Eby
What character would you cut from Longing for Love?
I actually finished reading the book.I love listening to books but her accents were wrong and I think she ruined my listening experience for this series.I would not cut any character I enjoyed the book.
Any additional comments?
I wish Marie Force would use another narrator.
this so far has been my least favorite book. the character Tiffany was not my favorite story line. The only thing that brought out the other characters was after the excitement at the marina without giving away details. My favorite characters were Charlotte and the Irishman. I wanted to here more about Laura and her boyfriend, and Grace etc. I hope the next book does not disappoint like thus one. I don't care if I ever hear about Tiffany and Blain again. Boring!
Love to be enfolded within the McArthy family. So nice to be friends with them all.
If you could sum up Longing for Love in three words, what would they be?
Revenge and fun
Who was your favorite character and why?
Tiffany. She overcame a terrible former husband and won over the town and a new man.
Would you be willing to try another one of Holly Fielding’s performances?
Only with this series as I want to see what happens with new and old characters. I have finally been able to screen out the readers monotone and focus on the story.
Love this series each individual goes through love And loss, and I laugh and cry with them all. I especially love .Caroline and Seamus together and can sympathize
I purchased this book as part of the series and it works in that context, but just. This is the story of Tiffany and Blaine and it works because of their connection with other characters in the series. Otherwise it runs from one erotic session to another as they work their way through a variety of sex toys available from Tiffany's shop with little romance or story line. I don't regret spending the credit since I am enjoying the series but for me this listen was not on par with books 1 to 6. Character development is weak, the plot is predictable, there is more erotica than romance and the narration is still terrible. On the upside there are updates on Mack and Maddie, Joe and Jennie and Seamus and an introduction to characters and stories that are to follow.
