But some scorching hot nights and a blooming tenderness mean two people will have to face up to the challenges of love.

Lovely

Would you listen to Kiss a Girl in the Rain again? Why?

Probably

What did you like best about this story?

It felt real.

Which scene was your favorite?

The rain one probably...lol

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not extreme, but I felt the appropriate emotional responses :)

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the characters being both likeable and realistic. I don't like women 'needing' a man, but also enjoy a self aware couple who act like normal human beings would - so the author did brilliantly there. The characters were very well developed and the story wasn't dictated by a bunch of ideas, but instead, seems to flow like real life events do.

List made needs to be completed . . .

Evan Chance was just the opposite of his name. He did not take any chance until a life changing event placed all his beliefs in a tale-spin. He has a loving family mixed with it diversity and free living. He had a job that he seemed to like but little time for much else. When he made the decision to take charge of his life was when the story of Evan Chance really began. He found freedom on the road and an unneeded set of complications to his plan to ride cross-country on his motorcycle. Homely was just the coolest. Caitlyn was unplanned for but much desired. She was more that just check points on his list. I enjoyed this romance and the background of both characters. The secondary characters were added bonuses. I did find a few contradictions with some of the background info but I am confident that once things smooth on in to some of the other family members things will clarify.

Teri Schnaubelt was smooth and flowing with her narration of this audio. I found no bone to pick with the way her voice lulled me in to a new romance and a new town. She open the door for new friends with her voicing, pitch, pacing, and timing.

Warm Feelings

Warren does a really good job with both of these stories in developing her characters. They meet in a very interesting and cute way and they take time to have feelings for each other and learn to trust one another. I like how she goes about the romance in a simple and slow way, rather than a crashing into sexual feelings! The characters have a good amount of backstory that is described here and it helps me connect to them. I like the descriptions of certain things and probably my favorite moment of the second book/first in the series would be the rain scene. It gave me a bunch of feels! I give Warren’s writing a 5/5 stars.

Teri does a good job with the narration. I could tell which characters were which and I liked her voices for each one. She has a good tone to her voice and is even paced. Studio quality wise I didn’t notice anything funky. I will say Teri could have a little more passion in her voice during those kissing in the rain moments! But overall she does a nice job and I enjoyed having her read to me. I give the audio a 4.5/5 stars.

A sweet romance

Take a Chance, book 1, Kiss a Girl in the Rain is our first meeting with the Chance’s children.
I don’t usually go for romance books that are not steamy but I liked the sound of this series and I am really pleased that I gave it a go.

Evan is likeable and sweet but also strong and adventurous, and it is instant attraction when he meets Caitlyn Sorenson, an independent, interesting, small town doctor. I really liked the circumstances under which they met and the way that the romance developed, though I would have found it more believable over a longer time period.

Even the less central characters are well thought out and well developed and the feel of small town community and caring about others is a big part of what makes this book so enjoyable.

Teri Schnaubelt’s narration is incredibly well done. The differing voices are well defined and recognisable and she maintains a pleasant flow to the whole story. I do have one criticizm, the passionate moments could have done with a little more passion in the voice acting.

I am really looking forward to meeting other members of the Chance family on this blog tour.

♥ Story ♥

This is the first full title in the Take A Chance Series. All of the full titles focus on one of the 11 siblings of the Chance family. First up is Evan. He is in the upper middle of the brood.

Evan ❤ Caitlyn

Evan Chance is turning 35. His mom gives him the bucket/todo list he wrote when he was 12. Aside from being rich, he hasn't accomplished much else. A tragedy close to his heart, makes him realize that there is not always another day. He decides to quit his lucrative job as a corporate lawyer and set out to complete his list. He doesn't get far before fate sets him on a different path. A mop of a dog runs in front of his bike and that starts a whole new adventure. The town he finds himself in, just won't let him escape. It's in a funny way, not a creepy children of the corn kind of way.

Caitlyn Sorenson is the local doctor. She took over her grandfather's practice. Evan ends up on her doorstep with the dog, because the sheriff was trying to play a prank on her when he says she's a vet not a people doctor. Of course she is taken with the hunky biker, but tries to be professional. Evan doesn't make it easy for her to resist by putting his lawyering skills to use.

EVAN’S AMAZING LIFE LIST
Make a million dollars before age 30.
Ride a motorcycle across the country
Kiss a girl in the rain
Run a marathon
Learn Spanish
Have sex with a woman!
Learn to play an instrument
Travel to India
Fly a plane
Scuba dive a ship wreck
Swim in every ocean
Swim with dolphins
Hike the Grand Canyon
Leave the world a better place than I found it

The angst is low, which I appreciate. The two love birds do face some settling down issues. I think Caitlyn is a bit of a late grower in that department, but it all works out in the end. We get to meet a good chunk of the other siblings in the beginning of this story. I look forward to all of their stories!

Kiss A Girl in the Rain

This is just such a sweet contemporary romance. Evan get a wake up call when a colleague passes away, nd then his real journey begins. He decides to ride across the US on his bike. As he travels he starts to realize what is important in life. Nice narration. Fun book.
