This book caught my attention because of the first book I read leading into this story.
It was a sad and touching read but also an eye opener to how ignorant we can be without even realising.
Our unintentional and intentional actions are important and we should learn to be more aware of this.
The story line was a little less captivating but nevertheless I I have grown to love the characters and I cannot wait to read the third book.
This book was very enjoyable..the characters were fully developed, it had a quick pace and having two readers was a nice change. I look forward to reading more of E Lynn Harris' books.

This book starts with a big move for Raymond and career growth for him, but he is still battling the issues behind being in the closet or coming out and letting everyone know about his sexuality. Should he keep it invisible or accept who is. Nicole experiences new love but is she sure it is really love or is she just settling and will she accept the racism from her fiancé or let him go? There are two main characters in this book who share friends this book lets you see the different struggles that not only black gay men face but also black women face. It will make you laugh, and cry all at the same time, in the end friendship and accepting yourself is key in both Raymond and Nicole's lives.
Listening to this book really put what we go though in real life it really opens your eyes to what really matters well it did for me
What would have made Just As I Am better?
I found the jumping around from character to character confusing and an impediment to telling the story
Would you ever listen to anything by E. Lynn Harris again?
What about Michael Boatman and Brenda Braxton ’s performance did you like?
Reasonably good job
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I could not finish it so do not know
I really enjoyed this book. It shows just how confused some men are when it comes to sex.
