Publisher's Summary

MMA middleweight world champion Jackson "Jax" Malone has just entered the fight of his life. Known for his viciousness in the cage, and his playboy ways out of it, Jax is arrested and charged with a brutal rape. The thought of spending decades in prison is one of the few things that actually scares the shit out of this cocky fighter.

Newly admitted attorney Page Davenport is willing to do anything it takes to get out from under her father's thumb and finally prove herself in his law firm - anything except represent the infamous miscreant, Jackson "The Mauler" Malone. Despite her protests, Page is powerless to avoid becoming the sacrificial lamb, the token female, who will be the face of the violent, angry neanderthal's defense team.

Jax is a bad boy with a temper, doing whatever the hell he wants in life while flipping the bird at all his haters. Page is the prim and proper rich debutante her parents want her to be. They've been pulling her strings, telling her what to do, where to go to school, what to wear, and even who she should marry.

Page and Jax struggle to work together, engaging in a knockdown drag-out fight for dominance. When they finally stop taking swings at each other, they're both surprised to realize that sometimes first impressions are completely wrong. In fact, opposites really do seem to attract. However, there are lines that attorneys and their clients can never cross if Page wants to keep her license to practice law.

Will Page risk it all and submit to the cocky fighter? Or will Jax's temper and jealousy prove too much for her to take on outside of the courtroom?

Either way, one thing is for sure - neither Page nor Jax are going down without a fight. In the end, the secret for them to find heaven may be to battle their way through hell first.

    "More Than a Cage Fight"

This was so much more than a cage fighter book, and it deserved a better cover. I honestly thought it would be pretty light with some hot sex but it was SO MUCH MORE...

This was my first Lane Hart book but it won't be my last. She created a multifaceted plot with multidimensional characters. The witty banter, the sexual tension, playfulness and finally the hot and sexy scenes all came together to make this an unforgettable listen.

Shedlock's narration was perfect for the book. I enjoyed listening to Jax and recommend it to any romance lovers. It was so good I'm eagerly awaiting Jude's story... hey Jude! When can I listen to your story?

Where does Jax rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I don't usually love MMA fighter books but I did love this one. For some reason the way Page and Jax came together had me hooked. I also loved Jax's family, so much so I bought Jude's audio book right away.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Jax?

So many things, their first time traveling together to the time he was away. The time it took for them to admit they were both wanting to be together was believable.

Which character – as performed by Aaron Shedlock – was your favorite?

Aaron Shedlock gave a great performance. He had the right amount of emotion and character differences that I was able to follow along with no problem and did not zone out or get bored. I have listened to one other book he narrated and while I did not love the book I gave him 5 stars for his performance.

    Any additional comments?

I can't wait to start Jude next, he was a great character.

Simply put, a fantastic listen. Aaron Shedlock was perfect in his narration. I've heard him once before and he's just great.

The story was riveting. I don't often hear such a complete work in less than 7 hours. This was my first book by Lane Hart and will definitely not be my last. The romance was took time; not an "instant love" stupid thing. And the courtroom drama kept me guessing and on the edge. Jude, Jax's brother, was included enough (and made desirable enough) that you'll want to go on to his story in the next book.

    Great Big Two Thumbs Up!!

    "Great listen"

I didn't know what to expect when I first listen to this as most of the reviews I've read has varied a great deal but I was pleasantly surprised as I this turned out to be a great listen.

Jax and Page had great chemistry and there was some great sexual tension between them which enhanced the story.

Aaron Shedlock did a great job narrating.

I'll definitely read/listen to the rest of this series.

    "Must Listen! Hot Fighter!"
What did you like best about this story?

The back and forth with the feelings and the situation they were in. Even though they shouldn't have been together and fought it at first, they just couldn't walk away from one another!

Which character – as performed by Aaron Shedlock – was your favorite?

Jax would be my first favorite, but Jude is an EXTREMELY close second place there!

    Any additional comments?

I just love this story! There is honestly not one part I would complain about! Jax and Page are just perfect! I can't wait to listen or even read Jude!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is my first Lane Hart book and omg...
The book kept me on my toes not your usually romance lets fall in love and live HEA.

Page is a lawyer who is forced to be the pretty face lawyer on a case that involves cocky and sexy as hell fighter Jax.

neither likes the other on first impression and both stereotype the other which leads to this addictive rapport between them that is unexpected.

Sure the chemistry is there but could there be more?
This book caused me to LOL many times not sure if the author meant to do that but it made the book all the more enjoyable for me.

Jax and Page are a REAL couple they have the embarrassing moments and their faults which endears me to both the characters.

I have never heard any audio books by Aaron but he completely nailed this book.

    Cant wait to hear Jude.

"Sexy, Hot And A Great Plot….."

…. What's not to love about this audio!

My first Lane Hart story and WOW did she impress me with a captivating plot, steamy sex scenes and characters I both loved and hated. I appreciated Hart building up the chemistry and sexual tension between Jax and Page and not just delivering another insta-love story. Jax and Page had a rocky start, but as they worked together, the chemistry and sexual tension between them exploded. Add in the taboo attorney client relationship, the court drama, great supporting characters, and an "ex" who is up to no good, this was an entertaining story with a few plot twists that keeps the story moving at a steady pace.

Aaron Shedlock's performance was great! He has a pleasant voice and narrates at just the right pace. I normally listen to all audiobooks at 1.25x the speed to help reduce the long pauses and breaks, but with Aaron's pace, I was able to listen to this audio at the normal speed which was a plus for me. Kudos! Job well done!

I enjoyed listening to Jax and would recommend it to any romance junkie. It was well worth the time, and I'm looking forward to listening to Jude's story in book two. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.

    Story
    "Light On Substance, But Enjoyable"

MMA fighter and manwhore Jax Malone has been playing Russian roulette with his “Johnson” for years and when he finally sticks it in crazy, he ends up paying for all his sins in a big way when he’s accused of brutally raping a fan.

Enter newly minted lawyer, Page Davenport. When Jax’s team hires the law firm of Page’s father to represent him, Page is unwillingly put in charge of his defense, she's out of her depth and knows it and the more she gets to know the real Jax, the more she’s convinced that he’s innocent, all the more reason to excuse herself and force him to get an experienced attorney and when she crosses an ethical boundary, both Jax’s freedom and her law license are in jeopardy.

While the subjects in this book are weighty, I still place this book in the fluff category, it’s light on substance but I still found it a highly enjoyable listen. Be prepared for foul language and pretty explicit sex scenes.

Aaron Shedlock is the narrator of this hot little read and the listening time slides in at just under 7 hours. Aaron’s voice is perfect for the new adult/romance genre and he did an awesome job voicing all of the characters in this book. The audio production was clear and the sound quality excellent.

I was anxious to see if the next book in the series was available and it is, but it has a different narrator, sigh… I enjoy the author’s style of storytelling, so I’ll probably still listen to it at some point... After I get over my snit.
