Publisher's Summary

Kate, Aubrey, and Jenny first met as college roommates and soon became inseparable, despite being as different as three women can be. Kate was beautiful, wild, wealthy, and damaged. Aubrey, on financial aid, came from a broken home and wanted more than anything to distance herself from her past. And Jenny was a striver - brilliant, ambitious, and determined to succeed. As an unlikely friendship formed, the three of them swore they would always be there for each other. But 20 years later, one of them is standing at the edge of a bridge, and someone is urging her to jump. How did it come to this?

Kate married the gorgeous party boy, Aubrey married up, and Jenny married the boy next door. But how can these three women love and hate each other? Can feelings this strong lead to murder? When one of them dies under mysterious circumstances, will everyone assume, as is often the case, that it's always the husband?

A suspenseful, absorbing audiobook that examines the complexities of friendship, It's Always the Husband will keep listeners guessing right up to its shocking conclusion.

    "Constant Guessing Game!"

This was a great story made better if you will by the narrator January LaVoy. This novel is one of the best, I've read/listened to in a long time.

The characters and story all very well written. And anyone who've spent time on a college campus, or reminiscing about their college days can relate to college life and all that goes along with it for some crowds.

But, this story of troubled relationships and people who seem to be destined to be together; is brilliant.

Kate, Jenny, and Aubrey are an unlikely trio. They find themselves navigating college life and more.
As you will find there is a bit of a mystery and you'll go on this journey with the "Triple Whips" to solve it.

A constant guessing game and a complete mystery until the last few seconds.

    "Awful"

About half way through I was mentally writing a review and all I could come up with was awful- awful characters, awful writing, awful plot, and worse- feeling awful listening to it. Having finished it, I can add awful waste of a credit. Thumbs down.

    "Can NOT finish !"

This is the screechiest, whiniest, most immature book I have ever attempted to listen to. I made it half way, but I just can't finish! I would think it was a book for teenagers if the subject matter wasn't all about sex, drugs, and suicide... but it's definitely not a book for adults, unless whiny teenage drama is your thing. This boom is truly awful , and a waste of a credit for sure.

    "Terrible!"

I purchased this book because the description sounded like an interesting psychological story. The characters were unlikeable and the plot was all over the place.

    "Sometimes It's The Writer"

It's Always The Husband started out okay. Three college girls meet and become roommates during their first year of self discovery. Then, we switch to present tense where the three roommates are all grown up and still best friends. We get a little taste of the grown up girls, and then we are swallowed with boring, wordy drivel about every single thing that they said and did in their first semester at college which is supposed to lead up to something terrible that happened. It took HOURS to get to the 'terrible thing that happened' and tons of unnecessary characters and wayyy too many silly sub plots... And- the title makes no sense.

Urgh. The characters are idiots and I hated all three main girls. This plot is all over the place and it's nonsensical and just plain stupid. 'It's Always The Husband' is supposed to be caviar for the palette, but it's actually badly cooked ramen noodles not even fit for girls in high school. What a waste of a credit.

    "Very good"

I was held captive listening to this page turner, and try as I might, I did not predict the ending! Well written, interesting and entertaining - thanks to the author and narrator for a great audiobook.

    "THRILLER"

Loved this story. I like the writers past and present storyline. How their lives intertwine from college to current in segments. It is definitely a thriller and up til the end when ot is revealed you are uncertain of the true killer. I also enjoyed the readers performance .....made it more interesting!

"GREAT until the last few chapters"

This story was very good and it kept me listening until the final 9 or so chapters and then it seemed that the author got tired and rushed much and left too many things opened...and it is not like these specific items could be a new book...we just will never know!!
