Publisher's Summary

She was the weakness he could not afford, and the temptation he could not deny.

Highland warrior Cameron MacLeod's mission for the king has just gone dangerously awry, and the best chance he has of saving it is the fair-haired beauty he encounters during the ambush. Injured during the battle, the enchantress has lost her memory, but Cameron harbors one of her. Long ago, a seer foretold that this woman had the power to destroy him. He's confident he's not so weak as to succumb to her charms, but the mysterious woman soon proves herself brave, guileless, and after one foolish, searing kiss, impossible to resist.

When Sorcha Stewart awakes in a strange place, the only person she has any memory of is the handsome highlander in front of her; and even that memory is hazy. Still, she instantly feels drawn to and protected by Cameron, and he proves her instinct correct with his willingness to endanger himself to defend her. Soon, love ensnares her, and when Sorcha finally recalls her history, she learns she's irrevocably tied to the very enemies the Scot has been hunting.

Now that the seer's foretelling is coming true, it's putting Cameron in grave danger. With little time and their futures hanging in the balance, Cameron will have to swallow his pride and seek the help of his renowned brothers, whom he's spent his life striving to be considered equal to, or risk losing Sorcha forever. As for Sorcha, she'll have to break ties with her past to hold on to the wondrous love she's discovered.

    "Strong men and women."

The MacLeod men a honorable and strong. So are the women who love them. Cameron has always thought he had to prove himself to his family. Has always held himself to a higher standard so he felt like he might be as honorable as his brothers. Then Sorcha comes along and threatens everything. He will not become dishonorable just because the seer says it will be. When Sorcha is trying to stop her father from doing a terrible thing, she is injured and has lost her memory. As she gets to know Cameron and his family, she vows she will not do anything that will put his honor in question. Even if it means she has to marry a man she hates. Cameron will not let that happen.

    Story
    "Fabulous!"

This was a wonderful tale of intrigue, passion, adventure, and love. Sorcha was adorable who is both brave and strong. Cameron is a sexy and strong Scot. Together, they can’t deny their attraction or passion for one another. Only, the predictions of the seer weigh heavy on their minds and influence their decisions.
I loved the narration of this book. Tim Campbell brings the story to life and gives each character their own voice. I was totally lost in the story as a listened to the book.

"Full of Intrigue and Surprises! WOW!!"

Julie Johnstone has really "nailed it" this time. "How a Scot Surrenders to a Lady" has all the drama you could want in a book, play or movie! It is packed full of family loyalty, clan intrigue, traitorous villains, royal commands, and most compelling, an underlying love story that will fill you with laughter or tears at times. With the team of Julie Johnstone, an award winning author, and the captivating voice of narrator Tim Campbell, it couldn't be less than great, but this book is even better! It is grand!!

    "An entertaining period romance"

How a Scott Surrenders to a Lady is an entertaining period romance with wild adventures and a good love story. The story is a real bodice ripper with lots of innuendo and a few graphic sex scenes. This book is definitely aimed at a female audience.

The reader does a pretty good job bringing the story to life.

    "Love Conquers All"

This was a great story. I liked the characters and how strong they were. The chemistry between Sorcha and Cameron was hot. The back story got a bit confusing with the different families and wondering who was who, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the story. I loved the narrator's voice; it was perfect for the book. I recommend this to anyone that is looking for romance and some intrigue. Will they be able to love each other when she remembers who she is? I received a free copy. This is my voluntary honest review.

    Story
    "Surrender Complete!"

This is the story of the youngest MacCleod brother, Colin. His family members from previous books are an integral part of the story.
Colin doesn't understand his brothers' devotion to their wives. Spoiler Alert: Stop here if you haven't read this book.
Colin meets Sorcha and hears from a seer that their lives will be intertwined, but the seer tells him it's not yet their time. For years, Colin devotes himself to becoming a fierce warrior with steel discipline. He meets Sorcha again while on a mission for King David. She's hurt and is taken to the MacCleod's castle. She's lost her memory but feels she knows Colin. She and Colin try to resist their chemistry, but through danger and triumph succumb to their fate and their love.
I didn't like Sorcha as much as Marion, Bridget, and Isabelle. Although Sorcha was skilled and supposedly brave, she struck me as naive and whiny. She "had a big heart" but it seemed to me she was more of a martyr. She didn't seem to have the spine and grit of the other MacCleod wives.
I listened to this story without reading it. While the narrator voiced the characters well, I found it difficult to listen to for an extended period of time. At times, the narrator's accent was so thick, I had to rewind several times to understand the words. I know that the accent was authentic, but knowing didn't make understanding easier. Heaven help you, if you don't know the word, "ken".
This was an engaging well written book and I recommend it with a nice cup of tea.

    Story
"Loved the book, the audio book brings it alive!"

This the story of Cameron the youngest brother of the Macleods who is trying to prove himself to everyone, his family, his king but mostly himself. He is guarding the king's mistress but an attack leaves him with a woman with no memory.
Sorcha's father is behind an evil plot that she over hears one to ultimately try to bring down the king. Sorcha has always known she should have fled her father but has stayed to protect her brother and uncle. When she leaves to warn of the plot she loses her memory.
Cameron now must deal with Sorcha but a seer warned him that she would betray him but he can't seem to resist her.

This is the 5th in the Highlander Vows series. While this story follows the others in the series it stands alone. Julie Johnson does a wonderful job developing all the characters in all her books. As with the other books she makes you want to keep reading to find out what happens to them.

Tim Campbell does an excellent job bringing Julie's characters off the page and to life through his voice acting. I loved listening to him and look forward to another audio book with him in it.

    "Exciting"

I really enjoyed this exciting romance. I was able to escape within the words. I just love audible books. The narrator’s voice just brings you into the story, he makes you feel as if you can see it all in your head. You can escape whenever you turn it on.

    "Finding Destiny"

How a Scot Surrenders to a Lady features Cameron MacLeod and Sorcha Stewart and is the fifth exciting adventure in Julie Johnstone’s Highlander Vows: Entangled Hearts series. This story is action-packed from start to finish. The plot is filled with intrigue, mystery, treason, and murder. Cameron and Sorcha find themselves embroiled in a plot against the king. Before they can find their destiny together, they must find and expose the traitors, and unravel the plot. If you like Highland romance, I recommend this one. It’s a winner.

I really enjoy listening toTim Campbell. He is an excellent narrator. He did a great job bring Julie Johnstone’s captivating story to life.
