Easy listening

Enjoyable and I cared about the characters. Some predictability and a few repetitions but well narrated and interesting to listen to.

Any additional comments?

this story didn't really get interesting until the second part of the audible download. this part covered the bombing raids on Coventry and the desolation left in its wake. for me this part saved the book.
not one of the best war time stories I have listened too.

Surpprisingly enjoyable

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but having enjoyed Rosie Goodwin's writing previously thought I would have a stab at this one on special offer.

It was a delightful tale of the war torn England and specifically the lives of three very different girls who bonded during that time of hardship.

I found some of their reactions to events implausible, but overall it was a lovely read, bringing sadness and joy in equal measure. (Tears to the eyes too in parts!)

The narrator was mainly good - but she sometimes used wrong phrasing and I had to stop and think what she actually meant - but that wasn't too much of a hardship, whizzed back 30 secs and re-listened.

Not a particularly challenging listen

Any additional comments?

But if you are confined to barracks with flu, then you could do worse. The storylines were a bit predictable and towards the end I was guessing with a certain degree of accuracy what the dialogue would be. Not really my cup of tea, unfortunately.

Loved hearing about my city

I think these type of stories, stir memories of a place, and its people in a different place and time, through the eyes of three girls, who was the same age in the war, as my mum.

Nice novel

This Novel was okay but was slightly boring in places, I’ve read others by the author that were a lot better
