Summary

Not everything is roses, chocolates, and vibrators in Zara's life...until Talon, Hawks MC president, wants to claim her as his.

Zara Edgingway is a 26-year-old secretary. She has a daughter who apparently knows it all and a best friend who could possibly have the mouth of Satan, but she's been with her through hell and back. Then there's the hunk-a-licious biker neighbor finally showing interest in her.

If only she wasn't about to face her next obstacle in life, the one she ran from six years ago: her ex-husband.

Talon Marcus is the president of the Hawks Motorcycle Club. For two years he's had his eye on the quiet, reclusive, yet sassy neighbor Zara. Finally, he has the chance to claim her as his woman. Just when her past catches up with her, she'll need not only his protection but help from his biker brothers.

Now, if only she'd stop fighting him along the way.

Annoying narrator

The narrator managed to make one of my favorite books into a hot mess! She has a nice enough voice but she pauses between every word... it's so annoying and you can't get an actual feel on how she's supposed to be feeling. It's all the same tone no matter the situation.

Ballerat Hawks MC begins...

I really thought this audiobook was entertaining and the story was fast paced and moved along. The hero, Talon, is the president of all the Hawks MC. He meets the heroine, Zara, when she settles in Ballerat after fleeing a brutal husband and divorcing him. She’s been hiding, but everything eventually comes to a head when her ex arrives in town. They had a daughter her ex didn’t know about, so Talon and the club are set to protect them. Narration was well performed.

The way to get in trouble

This book was fun to read. How can one woman get into so much trouble?

Middle class MC with HEA

This is the middle class version of an MC story, with a HEA. Zara and her parents were wackier than I expected and I did get some laughs with this story. Zara has been hiding from an abusive ex, she ends up involved with the head of a motorcycle club, but it’s not written as a dark story. There is a lot of comic relief and you end with a mostly relaxing time out.
I enjoyed the dual narration by Evans and Casteri. And those Aussie accents!

Set on a faster speed

You will have to adjust your narration speed on this. Narrator pauses A lot. Also had a very hard time distinguishing characters as there are no voice changes. Story was good and entertaining for sure!

could have been better

i am not one to leave a message on these reviews but i felt like i had to on this one. i absolutely loved the story but the reader killed it for me. Why was she reading so slowly. the pauses she took in this story made me so frustrated. They definately need a new narator for the next story.

Couldn’t finish...

I couldn’t finish the book because the narrator was awful. She was so s-l-o-w. I even tried to speed up the speech and that didn’t help. I gave up.

Frustrating narrative!!

All in all if you can get past that irritating pauses and lack luster near ration the storyline is fairly good. I enjoyed the play between the two main characters in the humor. However the first half of the book was extremely hard to sit and listen to as the near ration was so drawn out with horrible pauses and in accurate places where you could not understand he was saying wet. By midway point the narrator started to pick up a little and was tolerable for the remainder of the book. If you can get through the pauses and a lack luster exclamations of her narrative I highly recommend the story.

It was ok

this book was nothing more than okay it wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. The narration was so slow but I was able to speed it up using my Audible app so that helped a little. I also thought that this was a dual narration. It is not the entire book is told completely from the heroines point of view and in the last two chapters we hear from the hero. I definitely won't be reading more in the series
