"It is wonderful to be healed by love."

This is a most beautiful story. It is a very emotional book. Nate had lost his best friend, and Jewel had lost her brother, but their love for each other can help them both to heal. I have to say that that there were lots of tears while I was listening to this book, but I felt like it helped me to heal too. With the powerful combination of Melissa Foster and her outstanding writing and B.J. Harrison and his outstanding narration, it definitely earns its five stars.

    "Nate+Jewel=HOT!!!"

What can I say but I love Nate and Jewel. They have loved each other for a while but being the older bother's best friend and the best friends little sister has caused them to hide feelings. A death brings them together and they decide that their love for each other can heal them. The narrator does a great job of letting you feel all the emotion that is in the books. You feel like you are right there with the characters and you can relate to them.

    "Love Heals Everything."

Heartwrenching and healing. This book pulls at your heartstrings then plays them until something beautiful comes from something bad. Melissa Foster hit the mark with this book.
Nate and Jewel both have to deal with loss and love. Letting go of the past, and the guilt to build a future.

I received an audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

    "Loved in more in audio"

Two people think they can carry the weight of world on their shoulders. Jewel struggles to do and be everything for her family, even though her mother's gotten the hang of things since the deaths of Jewel's father and eldest brother. And poor Nate, who's been in love with Jewel since the two were children, assumes guilt for her brother's death during Military combat. It takes these beautiful, strong-willed lovers some time to realize that strength doesn't equal complete independence, but once they let love in, the path to healing is illuminated for each of them respectively.

    Story
    "Healed....so true for this book!"

Nate and Jewel are both broken for the same reason, the loss of Jewel's brother and Nate's best friend, Rick. He was killed while deployed and both Jewel and Nate have been struggling with that ever since. While this is problematic enough, this is also causing them to suppress the deep affection they have and have had for a very long time. Nate and Jewel need to work past their hurt and guilt. They need to let their attraction loose. They need to become everything they truly can be to each other.

I highly recommend this book. I listened to the audio version after first reading this book when it was released. I frequently wanted to reach in and shake them both and tell them to just let go and FEEL! As usual, Melissa does an amazing job of getting me emotionally invested in her characters!

    "Loss & Love"

Healed By Love (The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor, MD #1) by Melissa Foster
I received an audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Nate Braden has secretly harbored serious feelings for his best friend Rick Fisher's little sister Jewel, but due to their age difference and out of respect for his best friend, he never acted on those feelings. Nate went through ROTC before joining the military and Rick joined as enlisted after losing his father. Several years later Rick died in Nate’s arms after a sniper attack.

Nate is back in Peaceful Harbor, having finally left the military and Jewel is no longer the little girl he left behind, but all grown up. Survivor’s guilt and PTSD are eating him up alive, as well as the promise he made to Rick to take care of his family.
He fights his attraction to Jewel because of one terrible secret that he hasn’t come to terms with yet and he’s fearful when Jewel and her family find out they’ll all hate him. Jewel is determined to break down his barriers after sharing one scorching hot kiss on New Year’s Eve.

The mixed signals these two send each other add to their angst. Jewel deals with her brother and father’s loss in the only way she knows how. In the process she’s alienating her younger siblings without even realizing it.

Nate doesn’t consider himself a hero, but he truly is in so many ways. Mrs. Fisher does much to aid Nate and I loved her for treating him as her “other” son and appreciating him. She helps him see things more clearly and as a man who always does the right thing he takes a chance that could cost him Jewel.

Jewel has her own issues to work through and Nate opens her eyes in ways no one else could. It’s a heart wrenching, yet heart-warming story of loss and love.

Melissa Foster did what she always does – touched my heart long after I finished Healed By Love.

B.J. Harrison does another amazing job of bringing these characters to life. Put it on your “I must listen” list! You won’t be sorry.

    "Great book!"

Healed by Love is a book that just sucks you right in. Nate has always had a thing for Jewel, but he never acted on it because she was his best friend's sister. Years later he is back, and now his best friend is gone. Nate and Jewel each struggle to deal with the loss, and they find comfort in each other. Can this be more? An excellent book that I highly recommend. I really enjoyed listening to the narrator as well.
