The right mix

Once I got into this book I found I didn't want it to end, warm characters, brought to life by Anne's reading. Good mix of factual info about the Ats roles, the training & positions the girls took, combined with real likeable main characters. Favourites May, and Granny Byron, and favourite description - the fairy ring.
It would've been nice to have a sequel.

Excellent story with a superb narrater.

This story gave me a wonderful and interesting insight to experiences of the war days and how people coped with various situations. A history lesson with a difference that I shall never forget. 5 star all round.

Excellent

Anne Dover is the best narrator on Audible. She makes you feel like your in the book. There was plenty of plot twists and turns to keep you on your toes. With well fleshed out characters that you care about, the book gives you a real sense of how hard day to day living during the war was.
