What happens when in order to win, you're forced to lose? The only daughter of an infamous Las Vegas pimp, Raven Morretti, grew up an outsider. Liberated from the neglectful home of her prostitute mother, she finds solace as a mechanic. With few friends, she's content with the simple life. My relationship with Hunter Delucia started backwards. We met at a wedding—him sitting on the groom’s side, me sitting on the bride’s. Stealing glances at each other throughout the night, there was no denying an intense, mutual attraction. I caught the bouquet; he caught the garter. Hunter held me tightly while we danced and suggested we explore the chemistry sparking between us. His blunt, dirty mouth should’ve turned me off. But for some crazy reason, it had the opposite effect on me. We ended up back in my hotel room. The next morning, I headed home to New York leaving him behind in California with the wrong number. I thought about him often, but after my last relationship, I’d sworn off of charming, cocky, gorgeous-as-sin men. A year later, Hunter and I met again at the birth of our friends’ baby. Our attraction hadn't dulled one bit. After a whirlwind trip, he demanded a real phone number this time. So I left him with my mother’s—she could scare away any man with her talks of babies and marriage—and flew back home. I’d thought it was funny, until the following week when he rang the bell at Mom’s house for Sunday night dinner. The crazy, gorgeous man had won over my mother and taken an eight-week assignment in my city. He proposed we spend that time screwing each other out of our systems. Eight weeks of mind-blowing sex with no strings attached? What did I have to lose?

Then Jackson makes another outrageous request: Marry me. The unconventional offer includes an enormous sum - money Bianca desperately needs, even if it does come with a contract - and a stunning ring.

He's loved me since the day I was born. He's taken care of me. He's awakened me. Tor is my father's best friend. Fifteen years older than me, he's always been my protector. The one I should never, ever want. But I was born to be his.
This single gal has had enough of the games, the BS, and the endless chase. I know what I want most, and it's not true love. It's a bun in the oven, and I'm not afraid to hit up my sex-on-a-stick coworker to do the job. Ryder is gorgeous, witty, and wild - and he's also a notorious commitmentphobe. That makes him the perfect candidate to make a deposit in the bank of me. I won't fall for him, he won't fall for me, and there's no way baby will make three. Right?
He loves me, and he doesn't even know my real name. The limelight that follows him could expose everything I'm hiding. But even knowing the risks, I can't force myself to stay away. I'm going to break his heart, but mine will shatter right along with it. Will we lose it all when I reveal what's beneath this mask?
Vanessa Mazur knows she's doing the right thing. She shouldn't feel bad for quitting. Being an assistant/housekeeper/fairy godmother to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear longer than necessary. But when Aiden Graves shows up at her door wanting her to come back, she's beyond shocked.
There are many rules a priest can't break. A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God. I've always been good at following rules. Until she came. Then I learned new rules.
I've never been afraid of the dark...but that doesn't mean I wanted to live in it. Maybe everyone wants what they can't have, but I should've thought it over before I unlocked the door to their forbidden world. Number One is mostly silent. He watches me very carefully. Number Two is mostly gentle. But it's the other side of him I like best. Number Three is mostly reserved. It was carnal, it was sensual, and it was erotic. That's it. That's all it was supposed to be. A trip into the dark. A peek into the forbidden. I just didn't expect to like them.
When small-town Nebraska sheriff Hixon Drake meets Greta Dare, the connection couldn't be stronger, but the timing couldn't be worse. Dealing with the fallout of a divorce he never wanted and setting up a new home for his kids, Hix becomes that guy, that one he never wanted to be, and puts a stop to things before they can even start. Protecting his kids and himself is his only priority. Greta, on the other hand, has found the place for her and the brother she adores that's perfect for them - a sleepy little town in Nebraska.
After a car accident killed her parents when she was a child, Bronagh Murphy chose to box herself off from people in an effort to keep herself from future hurt. If she doesn't befriend people, talk to them, or acknowledge them in any way, they leave her alone just like she wants. When Dominic Slater enters her life, ignoring him is all she has to do to get his attention.
Thirty days. That's all Adam Steinbeck demands of his wife. Thirty days in a remote cottage, doing everything he demands. After that, he'll sign her divorce papers and give her their company. That's how long he has to rediscover the man he once was. The dominant master he hid when he fell in love with her five years before.
If anyone ever said being an adult was easy, they hadn't been one long enough. Diana Casillas can admit it: she doesn't know what the hell she's doing half the time. How she's made it through the last two years of her life without killing anyone is nothing short of a miracle. Being a grown-up wasn't supposed to be so hard.
Five Aston has known Rory Shrike for as long as he can remember. He played with her in the sandbox. He went to every damn horse show just to be supportive. He helped her with her French, walked her home from school, and faked his test scores just to stay with her a little longer and not be sent off to college early. But eventually he had to move on. And so did she. Never has a second chance meant so much to a boy who loves a girl.
It's been months since Aden Colt left the army, and still the memories haunt him. When he moved into a tiny boat off the California coast, he thought he'd found the perfect place to escape life. Then Sawyer shows up and turns his simple life upside down. Beautiful and sophisticated, she seems out of place in this laid-back beach town. Something is pushing her to experience everything she can - including Aden. But as much as he wants her, starting a relationship with Sawyer puts them both at risk.
When everything you avoid, turns out to be exactly what you need.
Easy and predictable, just the way he likes it, Blake Daniels flies through life the way he burns through women: on his terms, no regrets.
With his fighting career in full swing, he's on the threshold of title contention. But when his training is compromised by injury, the stakes grow impossibly higher. The rage that fuels his punches also chips away at his focus, and he risks losing everything he cares about.
He won’t let that happen. Not again.
Layla’s through with men. After a marriage that never should’ve happened, she hopes to reclaim the pieces of the woman she lost years ago.
Emotional abuse has left her insecure and terrified. A master at faking what she’s not feeling, she masks her self-doubt in false confidence.
She’ll never let another man hurt her. Not again.
Chased by shadows of the past, Blake and Layla know what they don’t want, but their hearts have a different plan. As a web of lies and betrayal threatens to destroy them, they’re forced to make a choice.

My first book by J B Salsbury and I was not disappointed! A good storyline and it was hot as hell! I enjoyed the characters too. The narration was perfect, a new fan of Ryan West... mmmm!
well read book. loved the 2 nd book in the series can't wait to start the next one.
both readers had excellent portrayal of both characters !
x
only one ftoblam and that's with female narater great great male voice she as but oh my God what's with the breath after every sentence it's killing me I can't stop hearing it. what a shame she has a dam awsome voice female and male please sort this out and she will be my best female narater.
Loved it. Every bit as good as the first and the narrators are terrific.
OMG, the narration of this book is off the hook! Between the sexy-masculine voice of Ryan West, to the vulnerability brought about by the sweet & sultry voice of Erin Mallon, this duo rocks! I also really liked the continuation of characters from the 1st book because I adored Jonah and Raven, so it was so nice to see their relationship continue to progress and flourish.
Now, in regard to Blake and Layla, for me the romance was a bit labored. You have two very attractive people who have this great 1st encounter that further builds with strong sexual tension along the way. Yet, from the moment they acknowledge a kind of happhazard attraction for one another to finally giving in…it was a lot of work! I'm also having a hard time with the women Blake hooks up with to distract himself from Layla. Those were just douchy moments for Blake, as I hated those moments, as a reader. And, so add to the labored reading, the initial sex portion between Blake and Layla was also labored because of Layla's past history with her ex. So, when things were finally rolling out for the couple…BAM the height of the conflict in this book hits hard! OMG, it's a doozy…such build up & then suffering. After that pounding portion of the book I was finally happy to see the couple in good times, but it was too short and felt rushed at the end. Yet, we definitely get a great HEA for the couple and Layla's wonderful daughter. Wow! What a story!
Now, regarding the villains in both the previous book and this one, they have left me intrigued! I found Layla's ex-husband's character to be unbelievable, or perhaps, I didn't understand how a person could be so singularly moved with lust and self-preservation to guide his entire life decisions and relationship, in particular with Layla and Axel. The only way for me to understand both this villain and the previous (Raven's father) is to categorize them as sociopaths---selfish people with no conscience, or sense of remorse.
I'm hoping the 3rd installment is better than the second, but even though I adored the narration, I felt the love story was a bit too labored for my taste.

This is the kind of book that makes you shout, laugh and gasp out loud at the characters and the audacity of a situation, and then rewind it 30 seconds to make sure you heard what you heard. This is an epic follow up to the first book which was equally as phenomenal. The narration was good, and a little dramatic at points but I gotta give it to Ryan West, he knows how to deliver on "sexy alpha scary MMA dude"! Overall, I LOVED this book. Its intense and deals with a subject matter that evokes strong emotions. This isn't a hearts and flowers love story, its kind of grimy which makes the HEA that much more gratifying. I highly recommend this book/series, loved it loved it loved it!

I was drawn in by the author's humour and ability to write complex characters.
Narration was excellent.
JB Salsbury is a new author to me, and on recommendation I started this series after hearing it was in the romance package. What a wonderful surprise, that i wouldn't have found without that suggestion. Its about MMA fighters, but it isn't listed in the sports section of the romance package at all. The series is a hidden gem, good writing and excellent plot / story line. Not your predictable romance story line at all.
So glad for the suggestion I got on the series.
Dealing with the world of MMA fighting, this audiobook has a hero who is cocky and a womanizer falling for a pretty mom to a teenager. The elements of the story came together in a way that kept my attention riveted to the story and the characters were likeable. The heroine is the victim of spousal abuse for many years. The hero has issues stemming from an authoritarian father who didn't show love to his family. The narration was done well.
Such a brilliant piece of work. Enjoyed the book immensely. Can't wait to listen to book three. I love Ryan West. He's one of my favorite narrators. Keep up the good work. Thank you for sharing your gift, and addressing important issues.
awesome series so far can't wait f I r the next book. great story line
Not what is expected. Blake was so funny and light in first book. He was so dark and moody. It's explained but I missed him as more light hearted. Mouse is dealing with a lot and I admired the sacrifices. Main plot twist is obvious and unrealistic. It was unnecessary tension that didn't add to their story. This series is not great. Summer candy but not great. Could be so much more complex and a study of damage people healing. It's just our of reach. You can see how it could have been flushed out more but the time was spent on detailed sex. Not that I'm complaining it's the saving grace.
This story is a gem! The narration just adds to the overall perfection of JB Salsbury's work. Treat yourself to this book. You won't regret it.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Of course! I actually gifted a few copies to my friends because I believe in this series so much. It has all the elements I like in an audio book. The audio length is a good amount and it allows the characters to be developed and you can get consumed by the story (something I crave for in a read). I love the plot and all the issues the characters faces.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fighting to Forgive?
I love the beginning. I think it’s mostly because it deals with Layla and her struggles. It kind of set the tone of the characters and the read. I liked how she wanted something better for herself and her daughter. I liked that she was strong and took a risk for happiness. It’s something we all readers can relate to.
Which scene was your favorite?
Most of the book is memorable, but I like the little shifts within the book. You have the beginning with Blake and Layla where you get to know them as individuals. You get insight to the past and issues. Then you have the middle where Blake and Layla try to work out the issues. Then the crazy shift towards the end where the pace just picks up a notch (it’s always fun).
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
My heart has a weak spot for single moms. I just smile ear to ear when I read these kinds of books. I was completely consumed by Blake and Layla’s story. It’s a beautiful story and I enjoyed every bit of it.

5 SEXY BLAKE STARS
I’m doing a re-read via Audio Version. I think audio books are the perfect solution when you don’t have time to read. I carry my phone EVERYWHERE and if I’m doing chores, running errands or even working, I just put my earbuds on and listen to my books.
I’m a mega fan of this series and it’s not only because I’m a fan of the covers and I think the author is completely fantastic. I LOVE the emotions I feel when I read/listen to these books. Not only it’s a “fighting” kind of read, but it’s much more. It’s about serious relationships, complicated problems and finding love within all of that!
Fighting to Forgive is a standalone and is a part of the Fighting to Forgive series. The narrators are the same as book 1, Erin and Ryan. I am a mega fan of the narrators, so I was REALLY happy that they narrated this book too.
BLAKE BLAKE oh My
I wasn’t a fan of Blake in book 1, Fighting for Flight. Yes I found him TOO much of a ladies man (CRAZY), but I was really surprised on how much I loved him in Fighting to Forgive. I love it when my mind can be changed. I love evolving characters and I love characters that make me fall for them.
The title did scare me. I thought to myself, did he do something really bad and he has to redeem himself? No, that is not the case. It’s a story about a ladies man, coming to terms that his current situation isn’t working out for him and the very thing he said he wouldn’t do, well, he did. You will see.
My thoughts…
Blake doesn’t have the perfect childhood and his father is a piece of work, because of that, Blake is so scared that he will become his father. All Blake cares about now is basically Blake. He uses women for fun times and loves to fight. He has a few conditions when he dates women, first he doesn’t date them, he just has relations with them and second his women can’t have kids, Blake doesn’t want any excess baggage.
Layla is running away from her past life. She’s never had a job and she is broke. She once has had a nice life, but she gave it all up for something better. She wants to be safe and happy. She landed a job at Blake’s gym and she doesn’t need any male distractions, especially since Layla has a sixteen year old daughter at home to take care of.
I love single mothers and I love alpha males. It’s really the perfect combination
How great of a story line is that? You get the damsel in distress, with Layla running away from her past. Then there’s macho Blake who does not date women with kids, but now all he can think about his Layla. From start to finish this read was just pleasant, there were no crazy fillers or annoying parts. I enjoyed the read a lot.
In the beginning we get to know Blake and he’s a total jerk, he hooks up with a girl and doesn’t give a you know what about her. He’s also perfectly fine with it. Then there’s Layla who is a bit of a mystery. Why is she running away? Is someone after her? Why does she go from rich to poor? Is her daughter okay with the situation?
Like I said, I LOVEEEEEE Layla. Not only did I love her name, but I loved how STRONG she was. She’s the type of Heroine you strive to be and you just want to be friends with her. When Blake and Layla meet, of course there’s going to be some nice banter. Blake is very interested in Layla and Layla just wants to do her own thing. I love that Layla has a daughter and puts her first, I also love that her daughter is a bit older so it adds some nice tension.
So Blake and Layla are figuring out the relationship, but you have Blake’s Daddy issues and then Layla has her baggage. It’s just a ball of goodness. So much happens and I couldn’t get enough of it. Overall, Fighting to Forgive had great elements, it was a decent long read, there was nice drama and the characters were well-rounded and developed.
I’m a fan!
