Summary

Book two in the Iron Horse MC series, which should be listened to in order.

For the first time in my life, I know what it's like to be completely and truly adored by a man who loves me for exactly who I am, a high-functioning autistic with more personality quirks than there are stars in the Texas Hill Country night sky.

Some people think my boyfriend, Smoke, is a total biker psycho, a natural born killer who will destroy anyone who threatens what he considers his. They wouldn't be wrong, but he's so much more than that. He's my salvation, my beloved fallen angel who is trying with all of his heart to save me from what seems like an entire world bent on either killing me or a fate worse than death.

We're headed to the Denver, Colorado, chapter of the Iron Horse MC, chasing after my narcissistic, junkie mother who decided to steal from some very bad men, leaving her two daughters behind to pay the price for her betrayal. My twin sister, Sarah, old lady to the Iron Horse MC president, is looking for my mother as well. Sarah's gone rogue and has no one to guard her back, which worries me deeply. To further complicate matters, there are traitors in the Iron Horse MC who are working with my mother, not only helping her to escape but also informing my enemies of my every move.

The odds are stacked against me, but I will do whatever is necessary to protect those I love, and with Smoke at my side I just might make it out of this mess alive.

Exquisite escapism

What made the experience of listening to Exquisite Danger the most enjoyable?

This is the second book and is not stand alone. I don't like to include any spoilers however the female lead was interesting.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The female lead is not what you might expect

What about Andy E. Ross and Stephanie Wyles ’s performance did you like?

The performances were credible. I particularly enjoyed Stephanie's narration.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book is entertaining and made me smile .

Any additional comments?

I am looking forward to the next book. Don't expect intellectual stimulation but instead a little time away from reality,

Skipped

I always skip the sex part because it's getting old. Sex and danger part is good but they aren't necessarily well to listen.

THEY WOULD KILL ..... OR DIE FOR EACH OTHER

When we meet Swan and Smoke again they are desperately in love and they're also getting to know each other better and Smoke is still trying to protect Swan but when they go to the Denver Chapter of the Iron Horse MC to look for Sarah (Swan's Sister) Swan is faced with a welcoming party for Smoke but it's made up of eager and all too willing Sweet Butts (Club Sluts) and jealousy puts the first strain on their relationship.

Then things go from bad to worse in this fast and action packed listen when they discover there's a traitor within the Club but who and why are they doing it? The Russians want Swan and there's a trap set up with bloody consequences but Swan's fight or flight instinct kicks in. Eventually a new face comes to the rescue and he holds all the cards that'll hopefully pacify both the Israelli and the Russian Mafia. But nothing could prepare the lovers for the nightmare they were about to walk into..... treachery, violence, murder, twists, danger, mystery, intrigue, torture, pain, drama, anguish and heartache that is waiting for them when they least expect it. And Swan was again grateful for the intensive training her Dad had taught her to protect herself if ever she was in a life threatening situation..... and so, once again, she turns into 'Berserker Barbie' to save herself and the man she couldn't live without.

This story takes you on an emotional journey where one minute you're touched by the protectiveness, understanding and undying love Swan and Smoke have for each other and they can't keep their hands off one another so there's plenty of hot sex but there's angst too. Then you're plunged into the politics, drama and depravity of the Denver MC only then to be catapulted into even darker and more vicious and violent Chapters when the 'puppet master' behind it all (called The Chief) makes his climactic move.

New characters, old characters, sub plots, intertwining twists and a beautiful powerful love story is also included in this enjoyable, thrilling, chilling and well-written story. And the cherry on the cake is the brilliant shared narration where Andy does all the male voices and Stephanie does all the female voices which works so well and turns a good listen into a great listen.

Worth a credit? Very definitely YES and The Chief is still unknown and is still lurking amongst them somewhere..... probably making new plans to get what he wants..... Swan. This must be listened to after Book 1, it does finish on a HEA ending and next we go back in time to hear Sarah and Beach's story and the link they have with Smoke.

Too much inner dialogue

I think that the author got caught up in her story and added to much inner dialogue and forget to tell the story. The inner dialogue at times went on and on, while the story felt rushed.

MY "BEST LISTEN" CHECKLIST WAS COMPLETE !!

First I need to review the narration…wow, these two performed, not just narrated, this book superbly. If book 1 & 2 had not been great (a 4 star listen) in and of themselves, these two would have upped the stars in both. I loved that when Swan & Smoke talked to each other Mr. Ross did the male voice & Ms. Wyles did the female voice. In my opinion that's the way all books, at least romance books, should be performed and these two should always be paired together. I hope the third book in this series when coming out on audio will again give us the pleasure of AR & SW's exquisite company.

Now, as for the storyline…well I only have one complaint and that is that Book 1 & 2 were too far apart in their release, otherwise, no complaints. My checklist when it comes to my favorite romance listen was complete; drama, on the edge of your seat suspense, sex, sex, and more sex, some rough & primal, some sweet and tender; alpha male biker, strong and tough female heroine, and of course, Smoke's obsessive, protective, dominant and over-the-top love for Swan. I was also taken by the character building of some of the background characters and can't wait to meet them again in the future.

It is sometimes difficult for me to try new authors as I have been disappointed more often than not, however, even though book 1 & 2 were the first I'd heard of this author and I'm glad that I took others' advice and took a chance. I will continue to either spend my credits or my dollars on this author in the future; and definitely the narrators.

Good story with annoying heroine

This book is actually the conclusion of the first book in this series. I really liked the overall story. However, the female lead character was unbelievably annoying. She is most immature 20 year old I have ever been exposed to; in print or life. The author tries to explain this away as a type of high functioning autism but, It doesn't come across as that, at all. It comes across as insecurity and immaturity. I have had lots of exposure to autism, in my family and my work and her behavior does not strike me as stemming from autism. However, I don't know everything and maybe there are those who act this way due to autism. The trouble for me is that her behavior irritated me and detracted from the story. It wasn't her sensory issues or her deep need for affection, that made sense to me due to the relationship between the character and her father. It was the fact that this young woman supposedly had been trained better then a special op soldier, since she was a child and this experience hadn't matured her, at all;Not buying it. I was also annoyed that, once this character had a taste of sex, she was like a drug addict needing a fix, even though people were dying around her and her twin sister was missing. Don't get me wrong, I love good sex and participate as often as possible, but I hope, in this situation, my priorities would be better. oh well, if hot sex scenes are your thing, you will love these two books. Just be prepared to ignore some annoying character flaws.

Blood, sex and more blood

All the action the first book lacks is here with avenge...
(Not so sweet) Swan shows everything she is capable of doing to defense herself and the ones she loves. She seems to be more like a SEAL than a helpless girl.
The search for salvation after their mother put Sarah and Swan through hell is devastatingly bloody, full of surprises and you almost give up expecting a HEA when, at the end of the book, the traitor is not revealed - big deception. So, the drama is not over and the narrator says book 3 is how Sarah met Beach so, no sign of the villain getting caught...
In this book you get a bit of everything: love, cruelty, drama, action, a bit of BDSM and more...
Good listen

LOVE THIS SERIES!!!! 5 huge stars!

This series does not disappoint. This is book 2 ... and its starts out a little slow recapping some of the events from book 1. It clearly has so many interesting characters there are plenty of stories and plots I look forward to listening/reading in the future.

The story continues with Smoke (Miguel) and Swan. Swan is no victim and I really like that she is able to take care of herself. This was a well planned, entertaining, listening adventure. I highly recommend this book .... so worth a credit, buy or sale!!! (Although I don't see it going on sale for a VERY long time).

Swan and Smoke continue their Romance

Lots of sex, cussing, true love, danger, loyalty, betrayal, death and hope. I love all the characters, but especially Smoke and Swan. They are so devoted to each other hopefully nothing can stand in their way. I listened to the audible and the two narrators were fabulous.

Gosh... Andy Ross’ voice is soooo sexy

In book two we get to dig deeper into the the trouble the twins are really in. Swan and Smoke become inseparable and learn to trust in one another. Some light is shed on the origins of the mess they’re in, much is abated but something is still simmering underneath it all at the end.

TWO THUMBS UP AGAIN!

Gritty, dangerous, passionate and action packed...

Loved this book. The plot twists and turns were thrilling. I hope the rest of the series gets released on Audible, as the narrators added even more drama to an already great story. Highly recommend this series.
