Summary
Poppy Bloom planned to finish her PhD and walk straight into a job at her university. But here she is, unemployed and living back at her mum's. She scores herself an internship at the hottest radio station in town, joins a netball team and renews her friendship with Leanne.
Spending time with Leanne's gorgeous twin Tom is just a bonus. But life has a way of tripping you up when you least expect it, and Poppy soon must decide where her priorities lie....

Unrealistic and predictable
I downloaded this wanting an easy listen as I potter round the house, walk the dog etc. I have to say I was disappointed. The main character Poppy is ungrateful, spoilt and very immature, this makes it very difficult to empathise with her or even like her. The story line is ridiculous at times, Buckingham Palace?
I hung around until the end just to see if there was a twist or if there would be some profound learning for Poppy. Neither of these things happen unfortunately. The narrator was very good though.

Brilliant!
Funny, moving & inspirational. Beautifully written & narrated. Can't recommend highly enough! Looking forward to Colleen's next book.

Great story
From the beginning to the end I was hooked. Really enjoyed this heartwarming tale. Laughed out loud at times and also shed a tear.

A great book!
I adored this book,
The story resonated with me.
Well written, great in depth story which had multiple layers to it. Smart but also witty. I would definitely recommend!

GREAT LISTEN 4🌟🌟🌟🌟
I loved listening to this book, it was brilliant. I got hooked straight away, it was so funny, I love the main character 'Poppy Bloom' she thought her life was going in a certain way but little did she know that the universe had big and better things in store for her!
That's a good lesson in life, we think it's rubbish because what we 'wanted' didn't happen but what we actually need does happen and it's better than the thing we wanted!
This is the first time I have listened to a 'Colleen Coleman' book but it won't be the last as I loved the comedy factor. I liked that it also covered serious issues.
I have heard the narrator Imogen Church before and she does her job really well!
I definitely recommend this listen to you.

Good listening
I struggled at first to get into the character but once I did it was good to see how she developed. Realising that what she thought she wanted, wasn't what she needed. Well done author. Enjoyed it!

Meh
Alright I guess. I liked the overall sentiment of living for now and loving your loved ones and going with your gut etc but it lacked that certain grip you get with really great books. The narrator probably spoilt it a bit too to be honest. Quiet one minute, loud the next and a bit overly expressive on certain lines. Good at different accents though. I'm not saying it's the worst book, but sadly not the best.
