Publisher's Summary

"She never saw anything like it before. She was amazed, and a bit turned on."

Mickey was the new next door neighbor. He was secretly a CIA agent, but couldn't give away his profession to the woman he had to seduce as part of his mission. She just happened to be the general's daughter.

Laurie takes a liking to him, and thinks he's just great. Except for the fact that he keeps asking about her stoner of a roommate, who was her brother. This leaves her puzzled and makes her question if something else is going.

Her brother was Mickey's target. He needed to find out if classified information was being handed over to the Russians.

Mickey needs to find out if Laurie is part of the problem or just plain innocent whose life may be in danger. The only way to do so is to deceive her into thinking he wants her.

But what happens when Mickey actually does fall for her? Will he be able to continue through with the mission? Is Laurie really a traitor? What happens when the Russians do show up and it's a question of life or death?

Deadly Seduction is a romantic suspense novel and is book two of the Romantic Secret Agents Series. There is no cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed happy ending!

Roxie consistently writes wonderful books. I think she really understands human nature and that is how she can get so deeply into the minds of her characters. In this story a sister is suffering because she is trying to cope with her mixed up selfish druggie younger brother who is in real trouble. He cares only for himself and she cares for everyone. Their father ruined the son and ignored the daughter and the results are plain to see. This is not uncommon and mothers also are known to show such favouritism. I love how this story shows exactly what happens in just such a situation. Parents should take a long hard look at themselves if they are following this route. Luckily the girl Laurie is clever and good natured and can look after herself. Also when things become very dangerous along comes her knight Errant in the form of handsome CIA agent Mikey. Well this is a Roxie romance so there has to be a handsome hero lol. Don't you just love it? I can't get enough of this stuff. I hope she never stops writing, I know I will never stop reading and listening.

Would you consider the audio edition of Deadly Seduction to be better than the print version?

Yes, I think the narrator did an excellent job with the story, and I enjoyed her performance.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting is the relationship between Laurie and Mickey, and how they would deal with the secrets. The least interesting was her bratty brother.

What does Piper Fairweather bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings the story to life with her reading, and I enjoyed her tone.

    Any additional comments?

Deadly Seduction is a enjoyable read, and I liked the premise, there's some suspense added to this story that I really enjoyed. I would've liked there to be more interaction between the main characters, and I think Roxy Sinclaire could benefit from adding epilogues to her books; I've read only one other by her, and that also didn't have an epilogue, so her other books may have them, but the 2 I've read didn't, and they could've greatly benefitted by having epilogues. Laurie has taken in her idiot brother because their father threw him out, and Laurie is a people pleaser, so despite her brother destroying her house and being disrespectful towards her, she's putting up with him, but she isn't aware of how much trouble her brother truly is. Mickey, an undercover CIA agent, moves in next door to Laurie in order to investigate Laurie and her brother. Laurie and Mickey are immediately attracted to each other, but secrets and drama get in the way of their attraction. As I said earlier, I would've like for Mickey and Laurie to have more bonding time together; there's a lot of internal dialogue in this book, so I would've liked more outer dialogue between the two. They do have nice chemistry, and when they are together, they do have some hot times. I liked Laurie, but she's a bit of a damsel, she's the type that just curls up and waits to be rescued, and she's a lot nicer than I would be, I would've kicked her brother out right away, lol. This story is interesting, and I liked how it played out. I listened to the audio book version of this story, and the narrator did a really good job, so I'd recommend the audio version for this book. Interesting, enjoyable read.

What did you like best about Deadly Seduction? What did you like least?

I really enjoyed the characters and the premise of the book, but I felt like so much more story could have been developed and that it would have allowed the characters to develops better or for things to feel less rushed and more natural in someways.

What other book might you compare Deadly Seduction to and why?

Not a specific book but similar to something like the security gaurd/protection romance novels out there.

Have you listened to any of Piper Fairweather’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and Piper always does a great job. Sometimes I feel like she talks slower than necessary and that can take a bit of the emotion away from her acting but overall she does a great job. No one can be perfect 100% of the time.

Did Deadly Seduction inspire you to do anything?

I enjoyed it while I ran some errands and it kept me moving.

    Any additional comments?

I really liked the premise and the story overall, but it was a quick story (just under 4 hours) and I feel that it shows a little. There were parts that I felt could have been developed more to add Realism in some aspects to the characters and their feelings, i.e. Grief, building attraction, guilt, concern, suspicion, confusion. I feel like I was told the characters were feeling these things more than saw them in some instances, and would have liked to have felt the impact of things more. Without that connection, the book takes on an "insta" feel, like instalove etc. I did enjoy the book, but I think it could have been more developed and maybe a little longer in length, which would have helped with some of the aspects I felt just fell a little short. I look forward to listening to more though because I did like it overall. I was provided this book for free for my unbiased review from the author.

    Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

This short, fast-paced erotica was fun. It had a lot of “yeah, right” moments, but they’re to be expected in these kind of listens. I’m used to always getting a HEA, and yes there was one but it was sad, too. I didn't like the sad -LOL

    I'll wager One Thumb.

    "Forbidden Attraction"

Laurie has allowed her younger brother to move in with her after his father throws him out. Her brother is 25 years old and acts like a total child. For me personally I don't think anyone would put up with a brother like Carl or consider taking on a second job so he can have a new phone! This is one the reasons I've not given 5 stars alround.

Micky is an agent for the CIA who has moved into the house next door to spy on Laurie and her brother. He brother is suspected of taking files from his father's computer, with the intention of selling them to fund his drug habit. His father is a General in the Army and has confidential files on his personal computer? What the CIA want to do is find the files, and find out if Laurie is involved at all or has just been taken advantage of by her brother. Now I'm English so I may be wrong but I thought that the person doing the observations would work for the FBI, as I understand it the FBI operates inside the USA and the CIA operate outside it's boarders.

Micky is very attracted to Laurie, fortunately for him she is attracted to him as well. So he brakes the rules and gets involved with her. The storyline is quite good involving Russian mobsters and drugs. The performance is excellent and even taking into account the couple of things I've mentioned it's still enjoyable.

I listened to an ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing this review.

He was sent to watch her and her brother because he stole from their father. Is she innocent and can she be trusted. It's against the rules but they begin a relationship based on lies. Can they survive through the lies and the danger her brother has put them in.

    "Hot romantic suspense!"

This second installment to the CIA Agents series is everything I expect Roxy Sinclaire to write. Her short novels are packed with well developed characters, some romance and lots of suspense! Laurie has taken in her troubled brother who causes her nothing but angst and craziness. Little did she know what he was really brining her! Mickey, the CIA agent keeping surveillance over her brother and his ties to the Russian mafia develops a romantic interest in her. Roxy Sinclaire creates an atmosphere of suspense and terror with an underlying feeling of gallantry and love. Love this series and look forward to the next in the series.

Piper Fairweather continues to read this series with incredible strength and emotion. She is providing a wonderful narration.

    "Great book"

Great storyline. I'm not usually one for short stories but I would have to say that this one was perfect. I felt sorry for her situation with her dad and brother. I'm glad she was happy with her final decision (no spoilers here).

    "Quick Listen!"
If you could sum up Deadly Seduction in three words, what would they be?

    Quick, suspenseful, entertaining.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Deadly Seduction?

I liked the way the narrator was able to differentiate the voices. She helped the story move along in the right direction.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I don't think I had a absolute favorite but I do love me some steaminess!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes because it was a short listen (in my world of listening...LOL).

    Any additional comments?

This is my 1st listen by Piper Fairweather and my 1st book by Rosy Sinclaire I can tell you that Ms. Sinclaire writes a good short story but the ending was kinda abrupt still good but abrupt. I will seek her other books and listens. Thank you for the credit so I could enjoy this book.

    Any additional comments?

Laurie is having a hard time dealing and living with her troubled, younger brother after he's kicked out of their strict, military father's home, when hot as sin Mickey moves in next door. But not all is what it seems because Mickey is hiding his true identity as a CIA agent planted to spy on Laurie and her brother.

As with any suspense story there are twists and turns and unexpected turn of events. The story is fast paced, intense, and passionate. The inner monologues did sometimes feel like they went on for too long, but overall the story is very enjoyable.

This was my first time listening to narration by Piper Fairweather and I mostly enjoyed it. Her male voice is very good, but I'm afraid to me she fell flat on voicing Laurie. Overall great book and good performance.
