Publisher's Summary

History isn't always what it seems....

Twelve months after his change, Alec MacAidan is still getting used to his many vampire talents. While most vampires would give anything to have more than one supernatural power, Alec craves nothing more than peace and time alone with Cronin. But when Alec meets entities from outside this realm, he's left powerless in their presence.

Zoan are half-lycan, half-dragon creatures that have slipped through time and reality, seemingly undetected by man and vampire. Or have they? They bear an uncanny resemblance to gargoyles, leaving Alec's view on all things weird to get a whole lot weirder.

This new quest leads Alec, Cronin, and their band of friends to Paris, Rome, and Moscow, where they learn that gargoyles aren't simply statues on walls. In the underground pits beneath churches all over the world, Alec discovers the Key's true destiny. Facing the Zoan might take every talent he has. And he may need help from the dead to get them all out alive.

    "Fabulous"

A wonderful book made AWESOME by Joel Leslie's incredible narration. So many different voices and accents all easily distinguishable. I sobbed over Horhae and Idelmo, more than when I read it myself. This series is so very recommended!

This has been an awesome series. I hope N. R. will consider continuing it. I know she has other brilliant books. Cronin and Alec just grabbed at my heart. I love their entire team.

    "Wonderful!"

A great story with a fantastic narration! All the characters were fantastic; the bad guys give shivers and the voice for Jorge so realistic that it reminded me of my own children so much so that I choked up a bit for him. Thank you for a great experience!

The story itself is amazing on several levels. Although I have now ordered softcover editions of the books, Joel Leslie's phenomenal reading of this tale will curl your toenails & make your heart beat faster. His Scottish accent for Cronin alone is cause for palpitations! I swear I would listen to Joel read the phone book. When you add in a riveting tale......all I can say is....WORD!!!!

"I'm in love with this series. Love, I say!"

Considering this is the third book in the series I'm sure all the readers/listeners know the quality of writing this series has. Before I was even done with the first book I ordered the second and third...and then devoured them all (and going to start all over again the second I'm done with this review).

The skill in which this series is written falls nothing short of creating a bone-deep satisfaction. And let's not forget Joel Leslie's narration, which really immerses the reader into the the story. It's really a match made in heaven (there really are not enough words to be able to fully expires how much I love this series and these characters.

Alec and Cronin as the continuing lead characters since book one is exactly what I was hoping for! I don't know how many - if any - will be written about this couple and their world again, but it would be an instant buy if there were. There may not be another threat like in this book for a while, but there's always more. This book is the worst case scenario in terms of enemy strength, so I hope the next (if there is) is the one facing a more emotional battle. I really hope to see more of everyone, including Alec's dad, who seems to keep getting worse and worse. I'd like to see Campbell again - maybe calling Alec for help. I'd also like to see Alec awaken our use more/different powers - I could see him and Eiji causing so much mischief, or giving everyone the power to walk in the sun for a short while like Osiris. Besides, they need their wedding and to renovate...and maybe bring the gang (at least Cronin) up to speed on some of his movie and cartoon references. I'd also love to see Alec teaching Cronin how to use all different kinds of powers just in case future battles call for it (and probably will). There's also Alec understanding where the words, "Yet I am still not alone," came from.

I hope a good, old-fashioned vampire vs. vampire fight is to come. Alec certainly gave himself a decent handicap...unless he just stops time.
