Summary

From the internationally best-selling author of Christmas in the Snow comes another spellbindingly beautiful story for winter.

Christmas on Primrose Hill is a spellbinding, emotional and romantic tale from the best-selling author of Christmas at Tiffany's, Karen Swan.

On Primrose Hill...

Twinkling lights brighten London's Primrose Hill as Christmas nears - but for Nettie Watson, it's not parties and presents that she wants.

Promises are made....

For Nettie, Christmas serves only as a stark reminder of the life she used to have.... One day she made a promise never to leave home, and so far she's stayed true to her word.

Promises are broken....

Under the glaring spotlight of the world's media, Nettie is unexpectedly caught up in a 21st-century storm.... Her exploits have made her a global name and attracted the attention of one of the world's most eligible men - famous frontman Jamie Westlake. But now she has his attention, does she want to keep it?

Just what I wanted

A great little pre-christmas listen. Silly and lovely at the same time, I really enjoyed it.

Imogen Church perform brilliantly in the narrative

Imogen Church perform brilliantly in the narrative giving each character a very distinctive individual personality. The story is also great bringing in many relateable events and landmarks of London alongside much deeper topics.

A shame Karen swans books usually so good

A shame that a section was read twice - spoilt the flow. A.bit jumbled and a disappointing end as though the author had lost interest.

Disappointing tale

Extremely disappointing. The plot had the opportunity to be comedic but failed to deliver. A slow story with (as another reviewer below comments) plot holes. The characters were predictable as was the story line as I guessed the 'secret' before even halfway through the book. However the narration was excellent and Imogen Church did a great job so I would always consider other titles she has narrated now.

Slow, unremarkable storyline.

Nowhere near as engaging as Swan's other novels. Slow story that never gathered pace, with disappointing plot holes. No hook. The performance, however, was excellent - especially as the narrator had such limp material to work with!
