"Story About Love, Loss and Finding One's Way"

Most romances are about the initial meeting and love between two people. It usually ends with a HEA. Reality is that this is when the hard stuff comes in and most relationships are only as good as the commitment, trust, respect, communication, etc. it is built on.

This book is about a married couple who lost their 6 year old son to leukaemia one day before Christmas. It is one year later and they are struggling in their relationship, grief and Christian faith. They have come to a cabin to give their relationship a fighting chance. Just when they are connecting, at least physically, they are stranded in a snow storm with a little boy and his puppy. Their guests, as only children can do, bring the couple out of their comfort zone and force them to really consider themselves. There is always room for growth, the possibility of second chances and the potential for a Christmas miracle.

The story is touching and sweet. Rachelle Ayala creates realistic characters, which makes it easy to relate to them. Definitely Christmas feel-good vibes!

    "Wonderful Story About Christmas Miracles"

This sweet Christmas novella brought me to tears more than once. Juliette and Gabe are staying at a small cabin for Christmas, barring themselves away from the holiday the rest of the world is celebrating. Their little boy passed away at Christmas last year, and facing the holiday music and cheer is unbearable. Waking up after a huge snowstorm, they find a lost little boy and his puppy, and slowly they begin to heal.

This was an absolutely wonderful story about Christmas miracles. Rachelle Ayala writes about the loss of a child in a realistic way and my heart ached for Juliette and Gabe. I listened to the whole book in one sitting, and the ending was a surprise and a pleasure. It was so heartwarming and hopeful.

Kate Marcin did a great job with the narration. There are accents and small singing parts, and she performed them all perfectly. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

This is such a wonderful story of loss and forgiveness. Juliette and Gabriel are going to a cabin for Christmas. It's been a year since the tragic death of their 6 year old son, Jeremiah. Juliette has terrible feelings of loss and doesn't want to celebrate Christmas ever again and this is causing problems in their marriage to the point that they may divorce. A snowstorm traps them at the cabin and they find a little boy, Patrick and his dog, Puppy. Juliette tries to steel herself against feelings for Patrick and Puppy. You'll have to listen to find out how they help heal Juliette and Gabriel. This is a wonderful Christmas story that can be listened to at any time of the year since it has a timeless lesson. Rachelle Ayala has a real gift for telling these stories and Kate Marcin has done a great job narrating. I received a free copy and am giving this review in exchange.

    Christmas Stray
    : Rachelle Ayala

A sweet yet sad Christmas Tale. I found myself in tears as I lost a child, not that close to Christmas; but it still stirred emotions even 13 years later. Learning to move on is not easy. A touch of Christmas magic does help. Thank you for an inspiring story.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. : Kate Marcin did a fine job bringing back the spirit of the season.

    "Heartwarming and Emotional!"

Rachelle Ayala tells a compelling story that takes the reader on a journey of love, hope, forgiveness and healing. Juliette and Gabe Martin have lost their son to leukaemia and are spending this Christmas at a cabin in the woods, as Juliette vows to never celebrate Christmas again. The strength of their relationship is tested as they deal with their loss. When they become snowed in with two strays they pray for a Christmas miracle. This is a story about love and loss, tragedy and forgiveness, inspiration and faith. You’ll be teary-eyed many times throughout the story, so keep a box of tissues close by. I found myself becoming so completely involved in the story that I just refused to accept the fact that there could be anything but a happy ending! It is emotional, inspiring and unforgettable. This will be a book I will listen to every Christmas and will recommend it to everyone I can.
Kate Marcin does a fabulous job of narrating. She has a lovely singing voice and the small singing parts added to the story. This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

"be sure you have tissues handy"

A Christmas Stray is a bittersweet story of loss and love. It makes us face reality in the fact that life isn’t always sweet. We have death and the pain of our marriages falling apart. I loved the twist of what happens when they are stranded. My heart went out to both Juliette and Gabe in different ways. I absolutely adored the magic of Peter and Puppy. If there is ever a story that embodies Christmas magic it's this one.
If you love a bittersweet romance, orphans, elves, puppies and an allover fabulous holiday romance, you will love this one.

Kate Marcin does a nice job of telling this story.

    "A Christmas miracle"

What a wonderful story about loss, forgiveness, and a fresh start.

After Juliette and Gabe lost their son on Christmas Eve, the holidays could never be the same, and their marriage was crumbling. Can a little boy and his puppy help to heal the pain of loss and set help Juliette and Gabe find their way back to each other?

I think this is one of Rachelle Ayala's best stories.

    "Very emotional read!"

This was a well written but hard to listen to story. I would highly recommend you listen to it in private, for me this was not one to listen to at work. You get drawn into this short story very quickly, and you can't stop listening once you start! The subject matter tears at your heart, but stick with it and this is one of the HEA that will stay with you for a long time! You will experience the best characters any time you read/listen to one of the authors books and this is no exception. I thought the narrator was really good at bringing personality to this story!
