This is a really sweet old fashioned love story and I liked that. The main part of the story is about a girl who used to go out with a shady character she did not realize was really bad. Once she did she left him. A long time later he returns and starts harassing her. The police are called in and she has a detective detail protecting her while they try to find out why he has come back. One of the detectives likes her and she reciprocates his feelings. Quite exciting in parts clean romance.

    "Chicago's Best"

This audiobook got to be very interesting and ended in an exciting climax. Ian is a true hero and Kat is a strong woman whose strength gets her into trouble.

    "Good Romantic Thriller"

With lots of thrills, romance and suspense, I really enjoyed this story. Kat was definitely one tough cookie and I love strong female characters. I also liked her softer side and her habit of taking in strays, be they cats or people. Ian was obviously smitten, even though he tried to keep things professional. It was sweet that he helped Kat bake in her cafe when he was protecting her. The narration was pretty good and held my interest throughout. I would recommend Chicago's Best.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is my honest opinion.

    "Interesting Story"

The book was exciting and interesting. There was a good mix of action, romance and suspense. Ian and Kat made a good couple and the story was good, engaging and held my interest. The way Kat and Ian meet is cute and their encounters from there just keep getting better. The the story that surrounds their budding romance flows great with the action part of the too. It's cute how their friends bring them together more and that they all get along. My only problem with this audio version was the narrators voice. It wasn't bad though, she did a good job and didn't have any distracting behavior's but for me it was the tone of the voice.
The narrator has an older sounding voice and Kat is supposed to be a younger person. I couldn't reconcile the fact that the narrator sounded like she was much older than mid 20's. Because of that it took me longer to listen to this book than it usually does.

This book was provided to me for free at my request in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

    "Simple"

This story has a simple plot with an easy to follow story. But sometimes that is exactly what I want. It was easy to listen to. Enjoyable.

    "Good easy listen"

A good thriller - calling it "lighthearted" is very accurate. Keeps you engaged and interested without being gory/violent. Good amount of spice to the sexiness between the two lead characters.

    "a very nice book"

really I like this book, but I didn't like in the narrator she was very how to say to right? boring. I'm sorry but she really didn't show any emotions and the book was so cute and so romantic but I couldn't hear the emotions through her voice....
I felt like someone is reading me a good night story ... and the book itself was very good, I like the characters Ian was very cute and very professional... the romance was adorable.
the only thing that was a little bit lacking for me was the ending... I was expecting something more .. don't know how to explain without making a spoiler....
but the book was nice and very enjoyable I enjoyed the way the book was written and the sweetness of the two characters was adorable
overall it was a good book.

    "nice sweet, action packed book"

The relationship between Kat and Ian was so sweet but at times it glossed over important things, like Kat’s past relationship and how it affected her. The characters lacked depth and at times it bothered me because it was hard to identify with them like that.
I liked that Kat and Ian did not fall for each other at first site, and she was quite suspicious of him at first. They don’t need to tear up the bedroom in order to fall in love, and the way they work together is that much more interesting then detailed sex scenes could achieve.
The book seemed like it was not researched as much as it should, little inconsistencies that kept bothering me throughout the story.

The narration was a bit robotic, it needed emotion when the characters were not speaking. The speaking voice was fine, but the descriptions were a bit disjointed at times. Also range of voice is key in a narrator, Ian’s voice was just the same as the female voice (not necessarily a bad thing, you can’t help some things) but it lacked emotion that would have helped him be distinct and more notable in comparison to the female voice.
