Summary

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken returns with a smoking-hot story about the satisfaction of plotting revenge on your ex - until he turns your world upside down again.

Austin Rogers's dreams of domestic bliss involved watching Netflix and eating hot dogs with the love of her life. But then he cheated on her. And dumped her - as if the whole thing was her fault. To maintain her pride and restore her sanity, she decides to get revenge. It feels immensely satisfying to plot her ex's downfall - but so does kissing him.

Thatch Holloway, a plastic surgeon straight out of residency, knows he ruined the best thing that ever happened to him. But not all cheaters are created equal. He got himself into this messed-up situation - true - but he has his reasons for what happened, and he'd do it all again to protect Austin.

He's not over her. And she's not over him.

Austin wants closure, but since Thatch refuses to give it to her, she takes matters into her own hands. She needs to write a human-interest piece for her MBA, so she demands the full plastic-surgery experience. Sparks fly as they're forced to work together. But Thatch isn't afraid to play dirty in return. And he's still hiding something - something that has the power to destroy not only Austin but their second chance at finding forever...

Not As Good…

I had such good hopes about this story and listened to it immediately after finishing its predecessor; but the storyline felt weak, the plot poor and my general feeling was of incredulity.

I'm worried that real relationships could peter out in this way - with an intense lack of communication - but if they can and do, I don't see how they can ever be successfully resolved, because this didn't satisfy that curiosity.

I also didn't really like the voices of the narrators , especially his, but that didn't totally detract from the book. However, I couldn't wait for this one to be finished. It still had some funny moments towards the end, but it was a struggle getting there...

I got these books as part of my Kindle Unlimited subscription. That is the only way to enjoy this book, in my opinion. However, the first book in the series is my favourite, this isn't even a close second. But still listen to it, if you've already listened to the first & make up your own mind.

Best read of 2017

After being recommended to this book a few times and hearing mixed reviews I thought I would give it a go. And it did not disappoint.
Even after the first few sentences I was hooked. I felt you really got to know each character and what they were about. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone! And the sister book "Cheater" is just as good too!

Really enjoyable

Loved it. It was really easy and enjoyable to listen to. I will definitely be listening to more books narrated by these narrators.

Cheater's Regret

This book was as good as the first, different but still good. When I was listening to book 1, I was hoping it was a part two. And I am glad there was a part two. Awesome read.

Funny as hell!

I nearly fell off my chair laughing so hard at this author's take on relationships. What a refreshing change to the way an author looks at love! Thank you !

So I Have Double Standards --Oops!

You wouldn't think this would be such a funny book, with a title like that, but it is. I picked it up in the middle of a heavy, brutal sci-fi novel for a bit of light, easy reading. I read the first book in this series sometime last year, but I never got around to this one.

It turns out that I have double standards when it comes to cheaters. In the real world, I'm pretty annoyed by their selfishness, immaturity, and lack of communication skills. In book world, I'm totally fascinated by what makes them tick, and how they got themselves into these situations.

This starts out as a revenge scenario, with Austin getting back at Thatch for kissing another girl in front of her. Then it moves sideways into an adorably sweet romance with some parent drama. There are a few things that happened that made me laugh out loud. One scene in particularly, had me giggling for the better part of 5 minutes. So either this book is really hilarious, or my judgement becomes impaired after midnight, since I stayed up and read this one straight through.

It's not mind-blowing or world changing, but that's why I enjoyed it. I needed an easy read with an HEA.

Better than first book in the series

At first I didn’t think I was going to like this book but after an hour in, I looked forward to my next car ride so that I could keep going. The narrators grew on me too as I didn’t like the voices initially. Overall good book but now having read more of Rachel Van Dykens books- these were not as good as some of her other series. Thank being said, this book got me to read more of her other books.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mmm OK, I loved the 1st book in this series but I only enjoyed this one.
It was entertaining enough so I'm not sure why I didn't love it.
Excellent job by both narrators, my only issue was with Alexander's female voice... he just made them sound so ditzy, not appealing at all. But holey smoke does he have a smoking got voice, deep and gravely.

Mixed feelings on this one...

I'll start with reviewing the narrators. Lucy Rivers was great. She did a great shop bringing her character and supporting characters to life. Alexander Cendese was ok until he did the female voices. I can't describe it well but he just made them all sound the same with a terrible woman impersonation. It was distracting and awkward. The story was just ok as well. I had several moments where I laughed out load which is why I have it 3 stars instead of 2. Overall just an alright book. I won't be reading the first book or any other in this series.
