Publisher's Summary

I'm working off my buttons.

But I'm also giving them away.

The more I fall for Crow, the more I want him to do the things that I want. Dinners, dates, and evenings at the beach.

Everything comes at a price, and quickly the hoard of buttons I worked hard to earn are depleted.

Will this go back and forth forever? Or will someone run out of their buttons first?

Where does Buttons and Hate rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    definitely at the top

What was one of the most memorable moments of Buttons and Hate?

when crow realizes hes in love with buttons and doesnt know what to do with his feelings.

What does Samantha Cook and Michael Ferraiuolo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

the voices bring the book alive. you can feel the fear, susoense, sadness ,anger, and love when listening.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Buttons and hate a true love story

    Any additional comments?

    love penelope skys books

    "Buttons in a jar"

This is the second book in this series and it was as wonderful as the first. I love Button. She is strong, determined and brilliant. Crow is sexy, disturbing and just as smart. They are equals in every way. I love Penelope Sky's writing. She brings this story to life with beautiful descriptions and imagination. The sex scenes are smoking hot and the violence is well placed throughout the book. I am impatiently waiting on book three and want it now.
The voice actors, Samantha Cook and Michael Ferraiuolo are excellent in these roles. Samantha Cook is Button, she is so well suited to her. Michael Ferraiuolo has one of the sexiest and most expressive, though subtle voices in romance audiobooks today. I am anxious for more from this team or author and actors♥️🖤

    "What a stupid story!"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If there was a substance to the story besides repeated pornographic descriptions.

Would you ever listen to anything by Penelope Sky again?

    Absolutely not.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

    Narrators were fine.

    Any additional comments?

I bought this book because of the 4.5 star rating. I am not sure how to trust the rating systems anymore. The description said it was a psychological suspense. I thought it was a cheap porn.

    "Left me hanging.."

I absolutely loved this book and in the end it said "Buttons and Pain is available now".... searched everywhere to find out it's not available until MAY 16th!!! Whatttt?!?! Why the heck would you say it's available when it's not??? I am not a patient person so I'm so sad when I thought I could move on with the Pearl and Crow saga :(

    "Really great Read"

Even though this is a dark love story, it has its moments of beauty. These are twisted up people finding their own way with affection, and while this isn't a sweet feel good type of story, there are moments of sweetness, and there are moments that make you feel good.

The author has bridged the gap with this book, the gap that usually makes you feel pretty sick after the darker story lines with something different. While this type of love isn't for everyone, it is right for the two in the book.

The performers were great. Not one complaint. Both of them read beautifully and with just the right amount of emotion. I'm buying book three now and hoping its as good as this one :)

"2nd book is better than the 1st"
If you could sum up Buttons and Hate in three words, what would they be?

Development of the characters and story line. Yes, I know that is more than 3 words.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Buttons and Hate?

The way that Crow and Pearl tried to remain apart from each other but the attraction was just too much for either.

Have you listened to any of Samantha Cook and Michael Ferraiuolo ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The performances of both were consistent across all three books of the series.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The dark obsessions of the hero for the slave girl.

    "seriously?"

This story was so ridiculous I couldn't get through it. I painfully listened to the majority of it, but ended up fast forwarding to the last few chapters just to see if there was anything intriguing; nope.

I know it takes some imagination to enjoy this story, but between the dangerous, won't-ever-fall-in-love, murdering main character and the other main character (who wassss his slave, but now stays by choice), CONSTANTLY craving his junk, it was silly and became very predictable.

It had good reviews, so maybe it just wasn't for me.
