Summary

Everything has a price...and I'm willing to pay.

I trust no one. I thrive with control and I've learned to be ruthless and coldhearted. A love life? I'm not interested.

But I still have desires.

That's where Dahlia came in; my treasure. She had never been a submissive before and I was eager to train her.

When I saw her on stage at the auction, dressed in gold, I knew I had to have her.

She's mine for an entire month. I own her. But one lie changed everything.

She's going to pay for it. But I'm doing this for her own good. She needs this.

I'm going to make this right. I'm going to heal her.

If it's the last thing I do.

Bought is a full-length standalone romance with an HEA, no cheating, and no cliffhanger.

Her Sir and his Treasure

What a great story, Willow Winters and Lauren Landish did a wonderful job. I had listen to the audio while following along with the book. I tried to get whispersync to work with the book. Tried with 3 different kindles but amazon was just not working with me on this. The two would not sync up together.

Dahila has a past that would break your heart She had been abused by her uncle. Though she blamed her father for not protecting her I have to wonder why she did not blame her mother as well. To me they both were responsible on keeping her safe.

Lucian Stone was this super sexy billionaire who liked it a little rough in the bedroom. He was a Dom in the BDSM lifestyle. It had been a long time since he had been at Club X. Lucian did not have a loving family. He parents were a piece of work and so was his ex wife. The only good thing in his life appeared to be his sister. She was super sweet and when reading the book you could not help but fall in love with her.

When listening to this story I could not help but try to picture Dahila’s face when her friend Carla brought up BDSM and Club X. I bet this was a lot for Dahila to take in but this was a huge turn on for her and she wanted to now more.

I can not imagine what it would be like to be on a stage with a bunch of strange power men looking at me and bidding me in an auction. I can only imagine the fear, desire, arousal, and excitement that was flood Dahila. Oh, don’t worry she auction herself willingly.

I loved the desperation and determination that Lucian felt when he saw Dahila being auction. He wanted her, he needed her, and he would have her. What he does not know is that Dahila has a dark secret and this dark secret has caused her to be broken. This will be a lot for Lucian to handle. Once he finds out he will desire to fix her, to help heal her. Question is she to broken to fix, to be healed?

Lucian will do something unthinkable. This will be all for Dahila. He will go to great lengths to help heal her, to help her. For a man who is only suppose to have her for 30 days and swear to not fall in love, it seems he has some deep feelings going on.

This was a wonderful story and yes there are a few steamy parts along the way. I truly loved this story and will have to make sure to read more books in this series.

So much more than the book!

I have read many books by Lauren Landish and Willow Winters (including this one) and I find that the audiobooks add so much more to the story. This particular book is in the duel style narration, which is fitting for getting into the minds of Dahlia and Lucian. I found the story well written, I just don't personally get the dominate/submissive lifestyle. To me, this listen was total escapism from real life (house cleaning, work, etc) and very enjoyable. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I do not like to give away spoilers in my reviews, that said, this is a standalone listen and does not end in a cliffhanger. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher. Both Brooke Hayden and Douglas Berger did very good performances with their characters. They added so much emotion that one does not get just readying the book.

I enjoyed the story line. The characters were very serious and troubled. The sex scenes were steamy. But I have to say I felt a little "bored" during quite a bit of this book. I think I needed more "meat" to the story or maybe more of a connection to the characters.

Something's missing

I'm not sure what happened but I feel like I've missed something. The climax was, well anti climatic. Then the conclusion of the story left me asking how did we get here. Like 1,2,3 but this story was only 1 & 3. Definitely needs more development.

Fast paced but satisfying book

I really love the steamy chemistry between Lead characters! It was a turn on! Although the book could have went into more details it still was good! Both were a perfect match, and it gives a different perspective on BDSM lifestyle than I have read before on other books. Overall good book

Bdsm... light...

I like reading bdsm, not quite in to living it... but this a beginner story into the club...nothing harsh, some intrigue. Douglas is a great voice for this, Brooke is good but sounds real young for this role.... overall a good listen...

Good listen

I love a good d/s book and the storyline behind this one was a good one. The dom that is too scared to enter a real relationship so he buys a submissive for a month and a girl who wants to be in the lifestyle so she goes in head first by being purchased.

There are a few issues that got to me tho. The first half of the book is very repetitive in nature. Always reiterating the reasons for things like 3+ times. It was a waste of time. Also the main character goes from saying "I know what bdsm is, I've read 50 Shades" and then 5 minutes later is saying that she needs the submission and the punishment. There is a huge gap between those two extremes.

But overall it was a good listen that kept me entertained.

Brooke and Douglas were good narrators. I liked Brooke's narration, I thought she sounded like the appropriate age and personality. Douglas was the same but I had just a little trouble with his tone not quite being as commanding as a dom should be.

Two Damaged Souls!

Dahlia has never been able to move past a traumatic experience in her childhood so when her friend suggests that she join her at the BDSM club for the auction where Doms would have the opportunity to bid on her for a one month contract she agrees.

Lucien trusts no one due to a greedy ex-wife and family who just want him for his money so when he receives an invitation to the auction he thought that would help him deal with stress in his life. He is drawn to Dahlia and bids on her and they begin their one month contract however feelings get involved and due to the trust issues in their past what will happen when secrets are revealed?

The narrators did a great job of bringing this story to life.

Kept me enthralled so I got through it in one day.

Would you consider the audio edition of Bought to be better than the print version?

I wouldn’t say better than the print version, but some of the voices help paint a picture of what the characters look like.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bought?

Huge auction.

Have you listened to any of Brooke Hayden and Douglas Berger ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Hotter than 50 shades
