Summary

In Molly Harper's newest paranormal romantic comedy set in her beloved Half Moon Hollow, a vampire princess must learn how to navigate life as a college student - including living with her messy, annoying, frustrating new roommate.

Ophelia Lambert, 400-year-old vampire princess and college freshman, suddenly finds herself domesticated by humans and forced to suffer the indignities of dorm rooms, communal bathrooms, and a roommate with sticky fingers.

As one of the hundreds of undead venturing into postsecondary education, Ophelia has a lot more to learn than just "undead studies" - she has to learn to get along with her fellow vampire classmates and, worst of all, her human ones, along with getting back into the good graces of the World Council for the Equal Treatment of the Undead.

Can this once all-powerful vampire princess balance classes and campus life with romance, human and vampire relations, and not sinking her teeth into her annoying roommate?

With her "distinct, captivating style" (RT Book Reviews), Molly Harper demonstrates that she is one of the best voices in paranormal romance.

A fresh addition to Half-Moon Hollow

What does Amanda Ronconi bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Her lovely accent and brilliant narration.

Any additional comments?

Ophelia has been terrorising humans and vampires alike for centuries. After being caught spending Council funds on a little sweet revenge she is sent to college with her undead boyfriend as a punishment. Slowly she begins to settle on campus and make friends, but not before some shocking violence and an Ophelia style ‘hissy fit’.
This is a very different addition to the world of Half-Moon Hollow. Ophelia is a prickly character and bases her undead life on cute twin sets, dry wit, and unashamed acts of intimidation. The reader gets a very rare insight into what makes her spiky and terrifying. In this novella we get to see her blossom into a regular teenager: or as near to one as she’s ever going to get.
If you’re hooked on the series then this is not to be missed.

Molly Harper's endearing wording saves the day.

Fan girls and boys of Molly harper all just let out a squeal as they picked up this little treasure.

Romance, revenge and a new ability; Plenty to intrigue.

The story itself is a little weak and those who aren't a die hard fan desperate for more will not enjoy this. But lets face it, if you're reading it at all it's because Molly Harper's sweet phrases continue to entrance you again and again.

Honestly she could write just about anything and her fans would buy it. And I'd be right there in the front row. Because she knows how to inject relatability, humour and strength into all her lead characters. And it's nice to spend time with people like that.
*she said from her dark lonely cave of unsociability*

The Jane Jameson world cash cow has plenty more to give so keep the spin off's a-coming.

Ophelia goes to college!

Very interesting take on Ophelia going to college. Not sure I liked seeing the softer side of her because her entire character is hard core no nonsense and don't mess with me or we get old school beatdown in medieval ways. Other than that I liked the revenge she got on her dorm mate.
As always Ronconi is my dream narrator, read to me anytime!!

Happy Reading/Listening!!!

A miss for Molly

I'm a big fan of Ms. Harper, but this one was a miss. None of the great situations, or snark that makes her other books so great. It was readable, but not at her normal level. A little back ground, and a setup for a less bad-ass Ophelia. OK for fans of the main line, but doesn't cut it as a stand alone.

Ophelia in college - too short for so much fun!

Would you listen to Big Vamp on Campus again? Why?

Yes! For Half Moon Hollow fans, this book shows the maturing of Ophelia, the 400+ year old villain from the Council. It's so much fun seeing her dealing with her banishment and learning to deal with humans! We also get a little bit of Jamie, and he's a wonderful character.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Big Vamp on Campus?

Ophelia enjoying watching movies with her human girlfriends. And Jamie supporting her all the way.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Amanda Ronconi IS the voice of Molly Harper. Her performances are wonderful. She brings the books to life with each character having a unique voice and recurring characters are instantly recognizable from book to book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, and it's shot enough that you could.

Any additional comments?

I hope we get more stories about Ophelia and Jamie!

Gotta love Ophelia!

This was a good insight into Ophelia's character and her past. It was interesting to see a different side of her. The ending was a little weird though in that it seemed like it was very abrupt, almost forced like when kids write and they just put "the end" without it truly feeling like the story is "finished" . It was worth the price however to get more depth into Ophelia's character. If you're expecting the same level of "snark" and humor as the other Half Moon Hollow books you will be disappointed.
